I've been playing with my Google Home for the past week and just started with IFTTT. With brings me to this product, its wifi connected and interacts with IFTTT. From there you should pace it where it can see your TV, AC, etc. then, you can control those things with voice commands via Google Home (Google Assistant).

Really cheap and versatile. Compared to similar products, these are a steal and the reviews for this updated model look good. Shipping states that it should arrive in 7-25 days.

Hope it help those looking into home automation stuff too :)

  • You don't have to say 'trigger' do you? That pisses me off about IFTTT and Alexa.

  • These are great devices but you can get them a few dollars cheaper at Aliexpress.

Does it actually work with IFTTT?

    • Toward the bottom of the listing it says it's IFTTT compatible. Just below the 'care your pets' pic haha

      • If you search for broadlink on IFTTT there is no listing.

What I think they are saying is it has IFTTT like compatibility. I also have the broadlink A1 and S1 which you can use to trigger a IR signal but I don't think it has actual IFTTT.com functionality.

You can however use these with a tasker plugin.

      • It doesn't even look remotely like the IFTTT logo. And also, why does it say link with all broadlink product as opposed to… Link with everything that IFTTT can link to!

Hmmm bit misleading of them. If u can't trust random Chinese companies, then who can you trust…

        • @Bellpop: Yeah it is really misleading. Its otherwise a good product.

  • I made some IFTTT recipes for making an iOS reminder via google home. I just say 'hey google, add reminder to iphone [reminder]' worked really well. It would be just the same.

It does not work directly with ifttt.com . you can get if working directly with other broadlink products, but to get proper ifttt.com things going you need to add in other services eg join and tasked and rmplugin…

    • Oh bummer. What's the cheapest/most relieble similar product that works directly with tasker?

      • You can get this to work with tasker with a plugin (rmplugin I think, worth the few $).
Its pretty good really, easyest/cheapest IR/rf blaster I could find for tasker and ifttt.com

        • Going to look into a free way of implementing this using python on my NAS (could use a raspi however it would be always on) but otherwise, rmplugin is the way to go. It is $6.99 though, however I do believe these are a great addition to a google/amazon home if you could implement them :)

        • Does that work with iOS? I found a taker but it looks like a to do list…

        • @Bellpop: dunno mate, I've sold my soul to android…

        • @Bellpop: nope. There's no tasker for iOS. And there will never be.

I bought a cheap android tablet to tinker with tasker at home it's great. Rmplugin works well.

For a split second I thought it was a Mac Pro in the pic.

FYI this doesn't support wifi passphrases above 32 characters. Found this out the hard way.

  • Obviously people haven't been watching Mr Robot???

  • I got this it's fantastic
I got one unit controlling the air con and tv

    • Nice. Via the default app or using workaround to use Alexa or google home?

      • Default app

  • I had one of these. IIRC the IFTTT it refers to is either broadlink's own service or built in to the app. i.e. If you had one of these and their door sensor you can combine the two so the air con turns on when you open the door, but you can't plug in to anything outside of broadlink.

The device itself is fine. Doesn't work with foxtel boxes tho
