      really good and sleek device.
slim and taller compared to the previous 10000 Mah Xiaomi.
lines up well with 5 inch phone screen.

      • I bought one recently from a deal listed here.

I plug a USB laptop lamp into it (that I also got here ages ago for free - zapals maybe?), to avoid orb spiders when I check the letterbox at night. I've done that several nights in a row now, and I keep expecting it will need a top-up charge. But it still shows full charge. (Mind you, I read online keeping this type of battery at about 70%, and fully charging just before you intend to use them will extend their life.)

I ride a bicycle about 20km for exercise. And listen to music or audiobooks stored on the phone SD card during that. But I was disappointed how fast snartphone batteries go flat. So I put it inside a bicycle smartphone bag from aliexpress that velcros onto the top bar. The phone goes inside a clear plastic insert on top of the bag. (No more running out of audio.) Have not used it for the phone many times yet. But it SEEMED to charge the phone quicker than my Tronsmart QC 2.0 car charger.

        Anyone else confirm/refute?

The one thing I don't like about it is it's always 'on' when you plug something in. Pressing and holding it's single button in cuts the power, but that's not much use. I wish it had a small switch so I could leave the LED plugged in. Because when I want to use it, it's obviously dark - so you can't see to plug it in.

I've been meaning to look on youtube… Has anyone cracked one open? Is there any room inside to install a switch?

        • Orb spiders! Yikes! Saw a huntsman in mine once. Scared the living daylights out of me.

        • i have the xiaomi 16,000 mAh one and can confirm it charges my phone a LOT faster than any wall plug (with original accessories). However it takes 2 days to do a full charge in Australia, not sure why. Takes half that in Malaysia.

        • Yeah it's pretty annoying. I connected a USB LED light and it would cut out after about 5-10 seconds.

I have older targus brand power banks and they work as you want - power only starts when you hit the button.

These are great for weekends away from power points. Fully charges my 5X from 0% in under 2 hours. Have you got any doubts?

    • +1

I have this one. It's great. I get 2 and a bit charges from 10% into my Mi Max that has a 4800ah battery. At QC 2.0 current it charges the phone in about 2 hours.

If you get a QC 2/3 wall wart or car 12V charger you can fast recharge this in about 3 hours.

I got mine from banggood and it took 9 days to get to country NSW.

    • My old(er) one looks identical but no QC…

    • Thanks to all that commented, ordered one from HK.
Let's see how long, I am not in a big hurry anyway.

      • +1

I got one recently and is a very good unit, fast charges my s7 and s7edge.
Suggest you get a silicone case for it as it may scratch your phone down the track.
I got one from Aliexpress like this

        • Do you own that case? I was going to get one but was concerned it would quickly tear - and the price of the genuine one made me think, I'll just let the battery get scratched.

        • @GregMonarch:
The case is silicone, as long as you don't house scissors/knives in your pocket it will likely last longer than the powerbank.

Major downside: the case is a magnet for dust because of the striped pattern.

Mine looked like this straight out of the box, never bothered to clean it.

        • @Baebs:

Getting a brighter colour one helps I guess!

        • +1

@Baebs: Turn it inside out, lol?

        • @Baebs: I found a listing on aliexpress that had two options: "flat" and "twill" !? I selected "flat". They don't look grooved like your pic. So hopefully "twill" is supposed to mean "grooves". But I ordered white just in case. (Most lint is lightish colour.) ;-)

  • Worth spending for a QC 3.0?

Currently using a Note 4 but will upgrade eventually.

    • I've got a Blitzwolf QC 3.0 battery pack as well - there isn't a great deal of difference charge time wise. It is much more efficient charging though - I get a full 3 recharges vs only 2 and a bit for QC 2.0.

  • Ordered. Thanks OP

    Don't need one.

Already have a couple of Xiaomi powerbanks (older design).

I don't really need another, but it could be handy.

    Should I get one?

    • I noticed this comes in black.

My other ones are silver and white.

      • +1

Another deal said silver was better for scratches. Not sure how, but it's why I bought silver LOL.

        • Because when you scratch a black anodised (or painted) metal, the silver metal shows through very noticeably. If the colour is already silver, then it won't stand out as much.

        • @FiveDarrah: Oh, it's metal. Ok. I didn't even realise, lol.

will this be sufficient for nintendo switch?

    • +4

It charges the switch while playing (slowly, but still better than it still discharging), got one a few weeks ago and it's been great

      • Got one for the switch! Cheers

        • can you recommend a good USB C cable for the switch to charge from the powerbank?

        • +1

          @ExpressCoffee:

I can't unfortunately… I use the one that came with my phone, which is high enough amperage.

        • @Wyn-Ryder:

thanks anyway mate, Right now I just use my laptops USB C cable

  • Anyone got any idea where to get a good QC charger to use with one of these?

    • Wall or Car?

    • Yes. Wait for "clear" to post the next deal (if there isn't still a current one - try the search box).

buyer beware company. Good luck those giving em money. Never again.

  • Any deals for the 20,000 ones?

      http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_422822_Genuine_Xiaomi_2nd…

      $40.56 - This one is bi-directional QC 3.0

      • Excellent thanks!

    • +13

They are $40.56 (HK) or $45.96 (AU) on the website

However there is a better option:

Buy it off their eBay store for $46.95 (AU), add this power bank cover for $3.19 to your order OR anything that you want for $3.05 or higher (multiple items is okay. Total comes to $50.14, use CHOCCY code to make it $40.14 for AU stock. Almost $6 less than the website for AUS stock and you get a free case/$3.05 of items from eBay.

Alternatively you can purchase it from their other $50.01 listing (AU) and get it for $40.01 with the CHOCCY code, if you don't want a power bank cover and can't think of anything to buy for $3.05.

Remember to add all items to your cart and then checkout/apply code once you hit $50 spend. I just picked that powerbank case as a random item incase you couldn't find something to add.

      • +1

Wow remind me not to play poker with you!
Please post this as a deal.

      • Damn wish I saw this earlier!

    • +1

I thought about doing that but then thought I could get 1x 10k, see if it's enough, and if not get a second one. Then if one cell fails, I still have the second unit.

  • Thanks OP. Good deal! Have ordered one myself. Cheers.

  • Not trying to be smart, but why would someone get the 10K one over the 20K one then? Just form factor/weight?

    • Some airlines are nervous about the energy density of battery packs they allow on board.

    • +3

      The 20K is much heavier.

    • +3

If you get two and one dies you still have one.

Or say you owned one 20k. And it's 25% charged, you know you'll be dropping in at home, but not for long enough to charge it. So you only have one unit with 5A remaining. But if you owned 2x 10s, you would have time to swap your half-flat one for the full second one (10A worth with you now instead of 5A), plus be able to put the first back on charge as well.

      • True. But 2 x 10 is more expensive than 1 x 20.

  • Is there a soft microfiber cover for this like there was for the old thin 5000mah ones?

  • Why doesn't the Pro come on sale ? Been waiting and nothing yet ……..

  • Good luck with the seller.

  • If you're going to buy it with the insurance, it equals $29.06.

At that price point, I would personally spend an extra 64 cents and buy it from Mushtato - whom are known well on OzBargain and are reputable with their deliveries.

  • Want to give my experience with a few of these… as in the 10k mAh slim qc2.0
Got 2 from banggood, 1 from yoshop, 1 from SE and all 4 seem to give a buzzing noise. Some when charging phone it made a high pitch squeaking noises. When getting it charged it occasionally has some electronic noise. The one that was most silent, if you put up against your ears can hear faint noises like one of HDDs. After some research some say its coil whine?? some capacitor noise, etc…

I compared to the other xiaomi batteries like the older fat and smaller form factor 10400mAh batteries and they super silent…. no noise. but these qc2.0 have. not sure all 4 bad luck. Anyone had experience with these?

  • Ordered one since I just lost my power bank a few days ago. Cheers.

  • I didn't realise this:

    http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/
    Division of Zapals

also they are tracking my ebay i.d. against this purchase.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one for the FiL

  • I've got one from a previous deal… overall great product sleek, fast charge to devices, good capacity for weight.

Recently experimenting using it to extend my MacBook pro 13 touch bar battery life… so far, it is holding the charge level of my MacBook with screen at 50% brightness, browsing net

  • Thanks for the link to the 20000mAH version.

  • Anyone that ordered locally and had your item shipped around 18/4, have you received them yet?.

    • On my dashboard it shows:
      Paid 13/04/2017 13:29:52
      Dispatched 25/04/2017 14:17:52

      • Cool, I'm in metro WA and am still waiting. Hopefully it'll come soon!

  • I did not realise that Shopping Square is the Australian Zapals!
    On my invoice:
    http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/
Division of Zapals Tech Corporation Pty Ltd
    ABN: 50 617 844 149

Also charges GST (as it should)

  • Still waiting for the power bank. Any time now

    • same here

      • Turns out mine went by courier and not AP as thought, now I have to stuff around as I got it sent to a Parcel collect Place thinking it was coming by AP and of course AP won't accept courier deliveries. If I'd know it was coming by courier I would have sent it to work!

        • Still haven't received mine. This will be going into week 5 on Friday. I will not be ordering from there again after this.

In all fairness it was in the description when I ordered it though….

        • Neither did I

  • still waiting….

    • me2

      • I sent them a query about where my order was. Their response:
        "Wait longer"

        • arrived

        • @fattyboombatty:
Arrived for me yesterday as well

        • Mine arrived yesterday but I forgot to pick it up…
          How is the testing going?

      • arrived today

        • Thanks for the updates here. Mine still yet to arrive.

  • finally tested it and a bit disappointed = only got 6000mAh out of the unit and
    anybody else tested these powerbanks?

      • Today I have learned something…
        Very good article, must read…

      • yes.. there is something about 6900mAh @ 5.1V written on the box (in Chinese) - I guess it is the actual capacity when use USB to charge phones.
so, it is just 1.5 charges for my redmi note 4
        still good I guess

      • The correct rating for CAPACITY should be the energy stored and available.
That could be either expressed in Wh (watt hour like in the kWh you are paying to your mains supplier) or, more correct, in J (joule, more likely a multiple)

        For your info 1 kWh = 3.6MJ

Thus the capacity of our powerbank should be 3.7V10Ah=37Wh=373600J=133.2kJ (if my calculations are correct).

        :D :D :D

        • close :-)
          box says : 3.85v@10000mAh (38.5Wh)

        • I wondered why 3.85 and not the (more) standard 3.7 so I did some research:

Voltages of cobalt-based Li-ion batteries. End-of-charge voltage must be set correctly to achieve the capacity gain:

          Nominal cell voltage/Typical end-of-discharge/Max charge voltage/Notes
          3.6V/2.8–3.0V/4.2V/Classic nominal voltage of cobalt-based Li-ion battery
3.7V/2.8–3.0V/4.2V/Marketing advantage. Achieved by low internal resistance
3.8V/2.8–3.0V/4.35V/Surface coating and electrolyte additives. Charger must have correct full-charge voltage for added capacity
3.85V/2.8–3.0V/4.4V/Surface coating and electrolyte additives. Charger must have correct full-charge voltage for added capacity

          from http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/confusion_with_vo…

    • How did you measure that?
Mine charges the Note5 at fast charge and seem to be charging pretty fast.
Does not seem to store same power compared with my old one but I do not have means to measure.

        • Interesting, thanks… I still don't quite understand how it works, do you have it on the powerbank from the topped up battery through to empty?

        • @cristtos:
you just put in the middle of the charging cable and it shows how many mAh passed through the cable.
I charged power bank and charged my mobile having his device in between.
It also stores (and add to) the result until reset, so even I charged my mobile 3-4 times I still can see the total.
