Steam has mixed reviews but I remember having fun playing this back in the day… MOO 1 and 2 are still my favourites though.
Galactic Civilizations II for $1 more is probably a better bargain.
Sins of a Solar empire is included too (nice!).
If you like these type of games, I had special fun with Endless Space (recommended - not a part of this offer 'though).

I agree. The tier 1 is a no brainer as all three games are awesome. I have 300 hours on GalCiv2 so this IS the kind of game I'm into. Judging from the (mixed) review, GalCiv1 is probably not very playable in modern system while GalCiv2 is still perfectly fine. That's why I believe the $1 is a better spent than the free one. It's nothing compared to the time and effort you are going to invest into a game if you are a turn-based/strategy/4x fan.

The new captcha with re-appearing images is getting cumbersome.

You used to be able to just not need to login or create an account to redeem these….looks like Humble Bundle have beefed up their security measures….
Agreed - Humble Bundle security feels kinda overkill for the type of service they provide (especially in regards to browser security - what a pain!).
It's not about keeping you secure but about stopping bots from taking hundreds of thousands of free game keys.
It's a great game for those looking for master of Orion type game
