71
easter350

I was browsing Koala and Lazybed today, and the discount is shown on the Lazybed home page at the top.

The price before discount for Double is $850, Queen is $950 and King is $1050. Free delivery.

No idea how good they are; perhaps someone can tell me?

These brands pretty much always have these "sales", so I'm not sure if it could really be considered a bargain. It is a good amount off though.

The boxed mattress industry has exploded recently and it can be hard to navigate all the information. We went with Ergoflex because they've been around much longer than all these recent popups, and standing the test of time is a better test of a mattress than how it initially feels. They are also more open about the technical details of the materials in the mattress. It hasn't arrived yet though so I have no personal opinion.

We bought 2 in February for our daughters. They arrived the next day :). Unbelievably though 1 was firmer than the other! The less firm one is very comfortable (tested by people - 2x60kg, 1x65kg, 1x90kg). To their credit, Lazybed will swap out the firmer one and we hope to get a slightly less firm one - quality control?? They did note to us that they are currently out of stock of the Queen size and will not have more until end April/early May.

    • Mine is firm, but I cannot compare it with another one to know.. Am wondering if mine was meant to be softer. Ah well.

  • They're not bad especially for the price after discount. Picked up a Queen about 2 weeks ago for $600. Comfy with good support.

From what I gather reading reviews of the other mattresses (Ecosa, Koala), Lazybed is a wee bit softer than the other 2. We tried the "wine test" with an empty glass - that was a bit of a fail. That said, missus reckons it's not soft enough but she's used to one with a pillow-top.

Basically, can't complain for the price. It's definitely better than the beds you get in the shops for close to 1k.

I had a koala which i returned as it was like sleeping on a perfectly firm bed of HELLFIRE. literally every night i would wake up in a sweat, and the mattress would be a veritable slip and slide. Be careful with these dense mattresses if you run hot at night, you will not have a nice time. otherwise, welcome to mordor. that being said, i paid $850 for a queen, so looks like a pretty good deal.

  • Please can someone post a review for their Lazybed :) We have bought a house recently and looking for a new mattress. Have got the Koala mattress before they changed it, still love it but wouldnt mind trying different ones.

  • Thanks for all the comments. I am in what Koala calls a rural area, Tassie, postcode 7320, and they charge for returns from rural areas. I did the online chat thing with Lazybed, and they said no charge for delivery or returns, but I haven't received my email of the transcript, and I'm not buying without that in writing. Not that I'm cynical, or anything.

    • Better to have the proof in writing just in case :)

We've had one for a few months and so far are happy with it. It's soft but also firm enough to give you adequate support. I recommend airing it out for a week to get rid of the rubbery smell and then you are good to go

  • +1

Had one a few months now and it's great. Highly recommended

  • Would not recommend for people with a bad back if similar to an ErgoFlex. These tend to sink in, and required quite a bit of yoga every morning after getting out of it!
Returned ours, now happy with a spring mattress.

  • Thinking of buying. Still confused. Anybody who can shed some more light on this

  • Picked up a queen a couple weeks ago for $600.

The bed is fairly firm, you do sink in a little. I am a hot sleeper but haven't had any issues so far, then again the weather has been cooling a fair bit. Paired it with a bedframe from ikea - loving it so far.

  • I used originally on an ensemble but found it ran warm: switched to slats and the air flow must cool it down a heap as it's a lot cooler

I bought mattress from this website couple weeks ago
    https://opulay.com.au
If you prefer soft or firm mattress they have both the options. I bought it as my wife prefers soft mattress and I prefer firm mattress (and she is pregnant so cannot really argue with her ;))

Very happy with the quality of the mattress and customer service so far.

Bought an Ergoflex recently when moving house. It hasn't been a revelation, but I do like it. Through the recent heatwaves neither me nor my wife found it too hot and the mattress was on the floor for a while and then on our bed (ensemble style, no slats).
My wife can still smell it a bit but she has always had a sensitive nose.

    Amanda
    Hi
Returns are at no cost to the customer
You — Please update your info
    is it location-dependent?
do you have a full T&C on this?
    Amanda
May I have your post code please?
You — Please update your info
Why are you asking for my post code if the returns are free regardless?
    Amanda
It's free most of the time, since our company opened, we had 2-3 issues of returns from rural areas
    Just want to make sure
You — Please update your info
so you are making a grossly inaccurate statement by saying free returns are you not?
where are the T&Cs on this?
    Amanda
    Just making sure
You — Please update your info
what are you making sure of?
    Amanda
Just making sure that you are not in a rural area because we might have to cancel your order if your shipping costs $900 or above.
You must try the mattress for at least 30 nights to be eligible. We do not accept return requests until after a full 30 night trial. If, after sleeping on your new bed for a full 30 nights, you are not completely satisfied, contact us within 125 days of purchase to arrange for its return.
We will collect your mattress and donate it to a charity of our choice. The mattress will be collected within 30 days and your refund will be processed after collection and verification of the defective mattress.
The mattress must be in a reasonable condition (so that it can effectively be donated to charity) to be eligible for return as described below (for example, no stains, tears or other soiling including odours).
You — Please update your info
where can i find this in writing on your website?
    Amanda
    https://lazybed.com.au/trial-warranty/
You — Please update your info
no where on that link says anything about $900 or above
    nor anything about 'rural'
    Amanda
We are working on revising our T&C because of exorbitantly high shipping rates that come with rural or remote orders. Last time we had a customer from Mount Isa and we had to cancel her order because her shipping rate is $912 and she purchased a queen size mattress for $600.
I mean we have to waive the trial period. We still sent her the mattress because we booked it through a different courier with lower rates.
You — Please update your info
Your anecdotes are irrelevant to my purchase decision. I want to see proper T&Cs before committing as you may or may not decide to allow a return.
    Amanda
That's why I was asking for your post code earlier :)

  • Thanks OP, never heard of this brand before. Ordered one. Hope it's good

  • Bought one about 3 weeks ago. Seems fine so far. Not sinking in or anything. It's firm, I think I may have liked it if it was a bit softer, but in saying that, I do sleep fine on it.

  • +1

Returned one of these recently. It was honestly pretty comfortable, perhaps a bit soft for my liking. The kicker was just how hot it got. Even on cooler nights, both my partner and I would wake up feeling really warm. On the pro side, the returns process was painless. Mattress was picked up by the salvos within a week, and I got the refund the following day.

We're now trying sleepy panda (yeah, we hadn't heard of them either), as they were around the same price and use a pocket spring design (thought we might as well try something a bit different). SP is way firmer, and noticeably cooler. I feel like there's probably a nice middle ground between lazy bed and SP somewhere as far as softness goes, but we'll probably keep it none the less.

terrible customer service though, keep promising but never deliver. mine came with a loose thread on the cover which can easily be replaced by them but they never deliver.

overall though the bed is pretty great!

  • Already got an email today saying "the new ETA is April 24th" :(

  • I bought mattress from https://opulay.com.au/

After looking at the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP7z_5dSPpc&feature=youtu.be…

This mattress makes total sense: As me and my partner sleep differently and they offer interchangeable layers to adjust the firmness one each side of the mattress.

    It's worth a shot.

  • Ozmatress grandmaster is more expensive, but incredible quality, and is not a 'bed in a box'. It is a spring mattress with a memory foam upper.

Just mentioning as I have not seen the name mentioned in this thread.

Glowing reviews on whirlpool, mine included.

Feel free to reply to this for further information.

  • Anyone get their bed yet? Was hoping it would arrive this week but now website states delay with no expectation dates

    • As OP I had expected to be ordering one of these, but I was unable to get Lazybed to put in writing that postage wouldn't cost in either direction.

I'm disappointed that other people have ordered based on my post, and are having delays on delivery.

    • I receive their BS excuses everyday tho.

      Todays reply:

There's been some technical issue with our booking system and we are working to resolve it. We are targeting shipment of your mattress within 5 business days. We're really sorry about the delay.

If you would like to cancel your order, we would totally understand. But if you can still wait for it, I assure you that Lazybed will be worth the wait! :)

      Sleep Tight,

      Lazybed Sleep Support

      • That "Sleep Tight" would be really annoying under the circumstances. Don't these people think about what they are saying or writing? I guess if it is in the script they have to say it.

        • Absolutely! It annoys the c@ap out of me when they say "oh so sorry to hear that your didn't receive your order yet… there was a problem in our system… blah blah blah"

  • Also jumped on this deal (No fault with OP)

Ordered on the 17th, was given every excuse under the sun for no ETA on delivery, constantly had to chase the company as they would never contact me proactively or even call me back when promised.
Now have requested a refund and because they didn't use the ZipPay online portal as I requested, I have to wait days for the funds to clear so I can finally get a much needed mattress.

Customer service are always clueless and seem to be playing a guessing game each time you speak to them, haven't seen an ounce of organisation from them through the whole experience.

Avoid this company, it's a sinking ship!!

Interestingly, I'm fairly certain they're also operating as OneBed
Same website, same product, both domains registered by Dylan Tollemache, yet Onebed price is higher?

    • I think so too. These companies should be banned.

    • I was on chat with a customer rep now. I asked her to cancel my order. She then recommended me the OneBed and said to me that they have a special going on right now… how ironic :D

  • Sorry OP, I had to revoke my vote.

  • +1

Yes, strange as it might seem, I've revoked mine too. I know I look at old deals here, and rely to some extent on how good other people think deals are, by looking at the votes. This one deserves no votes. Well maybe one for the OP's effort LOL.

  • I am trying to get my money back from this mob since week before. Bunch of liars. Every single person says it has already been cancelled and money will be on credit card in 3 days. So frustrated and angry at the same time.
