[Price Error] Mac Pro at Qantas Store for 93K points, or 5K points + $520

A friend brought this to my attention on Sunday morning, but you can get the last generation Mac Pro for 93,000 points (using barometer for 4230 points for $25 Myer gift card, that's only about $549. If you use the Points + Pay slider to reduce the points to 5,000, you only have to pay $520. Not sure if it's a mistake or just clearance, but I ordered one Sunday. Hasn't shipped yet, but should in the next day or so.

Price error (moved to forums): Emails are now coming through confirming the price error. As compensation Qantas are providing 2000 points and a 20% discount code for those who unsuccessfully ordered.

          I read your post as you intended to use 5000 points each time (40 units if you had 200,000) to "turn them into cash".

          I thought you were complaining that your points were not worth enough when using them on holidays - that you wanted to sell the 40x Mac Pros for profit on that basis. I guess I should have caught on a little when 40*520=a lot.

          I didn't realise that you meant you spent all the points you had on just 2 of them, it didn't read like that to me, sorry. You are right that's completely fine and I am 100% wrong due to confusion.

          Sorry for the confusion, I think you can understand where I was coming from though.

      There's no such thing as a Mac monitor. If your monitor does not have DisplayPort then you will need an adaptor. (You will probably need a MDP-DP cable even if it did have.)

      It comes with a keyboard, and you can use any PC keyboard, but a Mac keyboard is more convenient because it has the correct layout obviously.

          These are used for a variety of pro applications. People buy what suits their usage. I run 3 and we use dual 25" monitors and broadcast monitors on each. They can even be used headless for certain applications, i.e. Without monitors at all.

        The Mac Pro and previous gen MacBook Pro's all have HDMI.

    I managed to put into my cart, but then being an Ozbargainer then went to look for a valid promo code, after trying about a dozen I gave up.

    Unfortunately I then got the this item is now out of stock message….

    Moral, this was enough of a bargain don't be greedy.

      I admire your commitment to bargains that you would sign up for a life insurance policy just for the points to take advantage for what looks to be 99.99% a price error. That's a high level of dedication to the bargain lifestyle.

    ATTENTION all OzBargainers who have rolled the dice to try to get one of these… DO NOT CONTACT QANTAS to check if they will honour this offer. On previous price errors I have seen people phone to check and reduce the 1% chance down to zero. THIS IS A DUMB IDEA.
