      Exclamation marks?

$4 for Kraft seems awesome. Even most of the homebrand ones are more expensive.

they've all got nuthin' on the Aldi American peanut butter. IIRC it's 93% peanuts.

    • If I remember they add molasses or similar to it. I've had a jar but never got through it. I've always been a Kraft boy myself.

      • what are molasses?

        • tasty morsels.

        • L2Google.

Molasses is a viscous byproduct of the processing of sugar cane or sugar beets into sugar.

          • @TimeOrMoney: Yeah, so it's not my thing. I prefer not having additional sugar in things that don't need it. I do admit it's not a bad peanutbutter from Aldi, just not something I'd chose to have.

            • @AvvY: So you're saying Kraft don't add sugar? Lol. How do they add sweetness?

              Molasses is basically sugar.

It's artificial sugar you want to be wary of. That's what the really cheap products have.

Aldi is a superior brand if you do your research :)

              • @[Deactivated]: No, I didn't say that. I stated that it contained an ingredient I wasn't keen on. It's a more processed version of sugar, which as far as I am aware, isn't so good for us (like with any processed food). Also, I'd like to know the nutritional info for Aldi's PB - looking at my jar of Kraft Crunchy it has 8g's of sugar/100g. Not too bad. Can anyone share the light on Aldi?

I quite often shop at Aldi, but I wouldn't say it is a superior brand - especially stating no evidence. Most of what I've bought from there is to my standards, but not the PB.

  • Great deal, I am going to stock up as well.

  • yum!

  • Thanks for the post. It's time to stock up…

  • Most Kraft products are very high in salt and is unhealthy for kids and also adults with high blood pressure. The next time you're in a supermarket, try comparing the sodium contents of their products with some of their competitors. If I remember correctly, their peanut butter has at least three times the amount of sodium compared to Sanitarium. Likewise, their cheddar compared to Tasty.

    • Ive tried Sanitarium's peanut butter, and I must say Kraft's taste wayyyyy better than Sanitarium's.

      • Try Sanitarium Natural…every time I buy it I just love to read the ingredients list: Peanuts 100% :D

Lacking stabilisers it tends to separate a bit if warm, and with no emulsifiers it's rock hard if you keep it in the fridge; but I just tip off the oil on top (you could just stir it back in though) when it happens! ;)

  • zafroonaldo: Peanut butter.. yum! U know who i am! :P

    • yes!! yummm yumm!!

      • I'll hit + :P
