  • There's now a gamer's edition? LOL

Gotta get only 'Gaming Gear' otherwise if you use it for non-gaming purposes you leak FPS, seriously you can leak up to 20 FPS just from using non-gaming optimised cables. /S

      • yeh w0t u skrubs d0nt h@v3 l33t c@bl3$?! pfft git g00t 0r g03$ h0m3

        • Gamer, not skater.

    • It's red too :D

Hi guys if you have any inquiries could you please contact our live support for now !!

    • Does not look like shipping is free title is misleading

      • "Does not look like shipping is free title is misleading"

A little bit maybe. Be being realistic, shipping is never free. It's just that the price quoted has allowed to cover the shipping. The title should read "$4.95 inc shipping".

        • +1

Unless its coming from China….. I've purchased some stuff and thought to myself "how the hell can they DHL something for free when the item costs $1……"

        • @lplau:

Yes, some of the shipping arrangements out of China are bizarre. However the same point applies even with them, they must build the shipping cost into the article price. They don't get $0 shipping.

        • Nonsense. Shipping is regularly free - yes, granted someone will pay the price somwhere but if the price is worn by the seller, or its made up in the item cost - but that is splitting hairs.

The end result is free. I.E. the buyer gets the item, for the listed price - without having to pay an additional cost at the checkout. Which is what people here would expect as free shipping.

The headline quite clearly states "delivered for $4.95" - its not just a little bit misleading. If shipping isnt included, its demonstrably misleading.

  • Yeah, awesome! Been waiting for this version to come out. Is it Bluetooth compatible?

    • +1

Woops didn't see above post. Will redirect my enquiry to the live support.

    • +2

The red colour gives it Bluetooth v5 capabilities.

  • +1

I needed a new hdmi and $5 doesn't look that bad.

    • +11

Don't forget Gerry has the 1.5m Monster hdmi for $159.00.

      • +5

That's a bargain, I only use Audioquest cables however.

        • Do these cables have any real-world application to justify the cost, studio or live stage? or this just for people that have lots of money

        • +1

@spriggan43: No benefit. Even people with money wouldn't buy these…

        • -1

@spriggan43: Depends on length. Monster cables have been shown to function better over long distances but 99.9% of people don't use 20 meters of HDMI cable.

        • comments on that Amazon link are hilarious!!

        • @Diji1: Any reference on that? Other than a Monster claim? HDMI either works or it doesn't, there's going to be no difference in quality other than it not working.

  • +2

It is asking me to pay for shipping not free

    • +1

Same here, but it's $3 with $1.95 shipping.
So whilst it's misleading, the price works out the same for 1.

  • +4

The big question is if this has built-in anti-virus protection.

    • +2

      n00b th@t addz lagggggggggggggggggggg

  • word "Free shipping" is misleading as cable price is $3 + $1.95 is shipping.

  • +1

Great timing. Was buying some tonight/tomorrow…
    2 x 2m for $7.95 shipped. Thanks!

  • Hi brains trust I am after a little info. If I plug my Xbox one s into my Hisense 75 smart tv to get 4K and HDR. (Using correct HDMI port) Will the tv send 7.1 to my 7.1 amp or only stereo using the ARC?

    • Cannot say for your TV specifically but ARC is supposed to send back the audio the same as if the console were connected directly to the amp.

    • +1

If 75 is same as 55, HDMI ports on Hisense do HDR or ARC, not both. HDMI 1 & 2 are ARC, 3 & 4 are HDR. From memory, ARC doesn't support 7.1.

      • Yes I have it running in 3 and get HDR. But sound only goes stereo.

        • +1

Known issue with ARC is you'll often only get stereo. It's pretty much a dud technology. Grab an optical cable and connect to your amp that way if you can.

        • @Gav: will do

        • @Regie69: or do xbox -> amp -> tv? Assuming your amp can do 4k/hdr passthrough

        • @salem: nah doesn't do 4k passthrough

  • Looking for upgrade on my hdmi cables just purchased 3 for $14.45 delivered

    • +3

Would have been cheaper to buy 2 in 1 order, 1 in another. Shipping jumps after 2.

      • Now that is good optimisation. I love it.

        • Me math good does. :D

      • True but still happy paying $5 for a decent quality cable hopefully works as good as it looks :/

  • Would these be better than the stock cables that came with my PS4 or XB1?

    • no difference there hdmi

      • I've seen hdmi cables that are over $50, are they are same thing? Maybe better build?

  • "Gaming" cable.

  • Thanks just bought 3 for $9 pickup.

  • Grabbed 2. Worth a shot!

  • I was trying to troubleshoot some ARC issues I was having yesterday so switched out my cable for one from my box of cables. While digging I found two cables, one I had put a piece of masking tape on it and written "dodgy" sometime in the past 10 years. Instead of spending a bunch of time checking to see why I may have written that, I just binned it. And today, $5 later, I have an easy replacement. Thanks ozbargain! I always try to have one of each cable type in reserve, just in case (although with those dick smith deals a while back I think I overloaded on some).

  • Are these gaming cables different from 'normal' hdmi cables? Would they still be a good buy for say connecting PVR to TV, laptop to TV?

    • I think the 'game' bit is just a little marketing…

  • A little off-topic, but can anyone suggest a 4 in 2 out HDMI matrix switch?

I'm looking at this but there may be better options.

    • +1

      I bought this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300694383378

But doesn't pick up my ps3 or fetch tv just uses hdmi without power
Have 2 Xbox 360,s a wiiu and Minix x8 hooked up to it my recommendation maybe look into a powered one depending on what your going to use it for

  • +4

Also guys can use discount code: GEAR4HD which gives another 20% off hdmi cables!!

    • Thank you CookieAvenger.

  • Just bought 4. Completely missed the 20% off but :(

    • +2

Not to worry, code appears to no longer be valid.

Still a great deal, thanks OP!

  • +1

These are beautiful cables…better than the crap i got on eBay…
