  • Existing Telstra Customers Only

Existing mobile customers, or customers with any service ?

    • That's a good question JV. I saw an ad for it in the Telstra 24x7 app and I'm a mobile customer only. Maybe someone who uses the app for another Telstra Service can confirm if they see the same ad.

      • I only have bigpond cable internet (phone is with Aldi mobile) - could not see an offer in 24x7 app. I might buy a $2 telstra sim from telstra shop tomorrow then ask to be signed up this deal.

  • How very mediocre
    Wasn't it 10gb last time?

    • It was 10gb for $60 with a $10 credit (so $50) but with unlimited calls

      • Ah yes I was thinking of the student deal the wife and I are on
        $40 10gb

  • Should be tagged as Targeted ?

    • Agreed, when I click through I see this message: You are not eligible for this offer But never mind, we have lots of great mobile offers for you. (https://imgur.com/a/MRfNu)

This is good and all, but you should be able to do better:

    10GB if you're a student: https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/student-lounge

It's also likely you can talk a salesperson into including 10GB if you refer to the current Optus 10GB/$40 promotion.

I wonder if you could wrangle in unlimited calls instead of '$1000' worth. Don't understand Telstras obsession with it.

    • Anyone had any success in adding the free 6 months to an existing apple music subscription?

    • I got 10GB for $40 in December when I re-contracted by calling their customer service.

  • Extra 3gb data offer has expired (on the 27th march)? Would have jumped on this if found earlier. Rekon you could ring Telstra and haggle?

    • Thanks didnt notice that. It's been extended. I've updated the info and included a screenshot.

    • I wasnt eligible for this offer for some reason, but emailed & called Telstra. After some quick nego, they were happy to extend this offer.

      No hurt trying.

  • Does this include the international calls to 10 countries?

Gave up on Telstra this week was in the $70 byo paying $60. My mum, also in my account, is in $50 byo for $1000. Didn't wanna improve our plans, hearing some are getting notably more, so I ported out will port my mum too. So many variable pricing with telstra and luck of the draw. Over it. The fact prepaid offers are better is stupid.

    • Add to that, the constant new customer only deals.

      I miss their speeds though…

      • Yeah I'm a little upset about the speed, even a day later. But the $1 a month it will be for me to trial Kogan is pretty hard to pass up.

I saw some on Whirpool who are getting the $70 BYO plan for $40 with $15gb data ffs, here I was thinking $60 was good. I asked repeatedly for my mums plan to be improved, given the prepaid offer is $10 less with unlimited (as opposed to $1k calls). Nothing.

Long time customers, never paid late etc etc, and NOTHING. So off I go.

        • long time customer

Thats why they won't budge. They think you're either loyal or to lazy to move on

          So off I go

Best thing you can do. .chuck your mum on Aldi, especially if she doesn't use much data. Pretty much the same network. $25 = unlimited calls/sma & 2.25gb (which rolls over) or $35 6gb data. $45 8gb. And it auto recharges every 30 days.

        • @supabrudda:
Thanks, yeah I definitely no why that's why they aren't. Hence moving. Will check the Aldi one. Also for me…

      • In Brisbane I seem to get better speeds on 4G Vodafone than Telstra 4G. Telstra 4G used to be lightning fast here. Not any more.

  • Is there a way to do this and keep an existing number? I'm due to go out of contact this month so this would be a good deal.

    • Tried 3 different Telstra live chat attempts. No go. Need to sign an additional service alongside your current Telstra service. Attempting for my fourth attempt now. wish me luck

      • Goodluck. I tried and was told I'm not entitled to this deal because they didn't send me the offer directly. My response will be moving provider when service ends in two weeks time.

    • Just done this today and kept my number. Added an S8 as a monthly handset repayment over two years. (existing telstra customer with broadband)and with some discount over my packages essentially got this plan and the s8 for $69p/m

  • I changed my $50 a month Telstra BYO plan with 2.5GB data to this $40 8GB 12mth contract really easily today using Telstra Chat.

  • +1

    my current plan was $40 with $500 and 5GB - ending 01/06/17

I just changed to this new plan through online chat with no problem whatsoever…

afterwards, all the new info refreshed in my 24x7 app showing the new data allowance

  • Would go for this if it weren't limited to $1,000 of calls. Should really be unlimited.
