Was locating a sleep mat for OP of this thread and found this bargain. I paid maybe $10 or $11 for it a while ago, I think for $2 it is a great bargain. Big W, Kmart etc also have similar items, all in the ranges of $8 to $12.

Can buy on eBay, $7.95 for shipping no matter how many you get it appears

This is good, for stores that are out-of-stock currently, I assume you can get it for $2 from here, and select the nearby store for free click-and-collect.
It appear every store in Vic and NSW are out of stock. There was 1 store near me that had stock and i was in the process of checking out when they suddenly wouldn't let me and now that store is out of stock also. There are a few store in SA and one in QLD who still have stock.
If you buy 25 of these you can get 5% off and 2.6% cash back which will make it roughly $2.15 a piece delivered. You will just have to find a way to flog the other 24.
@highdealer: See this comment. It looks like if you buy this from the Supercheap Auto Ebay Store, and select your nearby store for pick up, you only have to get 1 for $2.
@highdealer: OK, then I misunderstood. When it says free click-and-collect, I thought it meant if you choose click-and-collect, there will not be any postage cost, and you can choose any store for free pick-up, much like Woolworths.
You could stack all 25 on top of each other and experience a luxury known by no other man
with $5 credit you could get 2.5 of them :D
How to get $5 off?
My spine hurts just looking at this
Best to treat as just extra layer(s) of insulation.
Long distance hikers actually use these for weeks on end believe it or not.
The hikers and campers I know wouldn't use this. They'd use a high quality self inflating sleeping mat with good insulating qualities. It really makes a difference in cold weather, otherwise the heat just saps out of your body and you get no sleep (in colder months obviously)
These insulate in cold weather too.. They're just nowhere near as comfortable, and the self-inflating mats pack smaller for about the same (if maybe a little less) weight. But that was around 20 or so years ago when I last used them.
Even cheap gym mats give a surprising amount of insulation. Went mountain biking at perisher, warm in the day but still zero at night. Kept me warm and you know about it if you roll off!
I used an air bed and mat was on thr ground at first, had to move it ontop of the air bed to get warm.
You don't use these to lie down on! You cut them up for padding!
I actually use this under the airbed (a fairly cheap one, so not great insulation-wise), and it makes a lot of difference as an insulation layer.
I use cut up mats for all sorts of things. If I want a cheap hard case for something small and I don't care about looks not much can beat a systema container lined with cut up camping mat.
@syousef: I've been thinking about making a couch. so a layer of this stuff over the frame would make a great first layer of padding.
Haha as soon as I saw your bargain I thought of that thread you quoted!
Thanks OP. Bought two. Kilkenny store in Adelaide has them for C&C as of now.
Bargains are good and all, but, Never skimp on the things in life that go in between you and the ground.
Your back and feet will thank you for it later!Does that count for caskets too?
Can't speak from experience there sorry!
I guess that's technically not something in life haha
Yep learnt that the hard way when I was a young cub scout, doing a sleepover at the hall with wooden floors
Australia is pretty big on back issues, not sure splashing out 1000 for a mattress is the ideal choice either
Out of stock
dmn missed out :(
Thanks OP, this will be good for standing out from the lululemon girls in my yoga class.
Haha, could be a new hip trend :-)
"This item is now sold out. Please remove it from your cart before proceeding"
Has anyone had theirs dispatched yet? Hoping they have enough supply for the demand..
I suspect most who did buy have selected the click-and-collect option. Hope by now, you have some news about your dispatch.
Sold out locally. Shipping kills it.
Freight for 10 of these is $29.95 to suburban Sydney. That means $5/mat. Still cheap but not enough to bother.
