    Thanks

Got an email shipping had been delayed until April 6. Thought they were going to cancel as the email was titled "important update on your order".

I wasn't expecting it until early April so this is ok.

Same - was worried, but pleasantly surprised as the original dates on eBay said April 6-13 anyhow.

Got an email today with a new estimate. Now due to be shipped 10/4. Did everyone else get this email?

      • +1

        Samesies

      • Yeah i got it too. Hopefully its not bumped again!

    • i just called up dicksmith and asked if they were still on track to dispatch next week. They advised me that they have not bee advised of any further delays

      • Glad to hear that. I was getting a little impatient and called my local JB who advised they could do it for $1450. Not worth paying the extra $100 just to possibly get it a little quicker, but hoping Dick Smith don't push deliveries out any further.

I also asked my local JB about batteries and their standard price is $148 but they advised $129 would be possible (and $1950 on the fly more combo). Has anyone seen any other better deals out there for the intelligent batteries? Plan on picking up an extra 1 or 2 once the drone arrives.

        • Does JB = JB hi fi? That is pretty good they came down that far - did you just ask what their best price was or did you request they price match?

        • @RRRRRnz: Yep, referring to JB hi-fi, and that wasn't a price match, I just asked what was the best price they could do and that's what they came up with.

  • Got an email this morning from Kogan/Dicksmith they have updated the dispatch date to 10th April now…

"Thank you for your recent order.

We regret to inform you that, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to ship your DJI Mavic Pro Drone as quickly as originally expected.

Your item is now expected to be shipped from our warehouse on the 10th April 2017.

Please accept our most sincere apologies for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause you. While almost 100% of orders are dispatched on time, in rare circumstances there can be delays outside of our control.

As soon as your order is shipped, we will send you a notification email to confirm that it's on its way.

You can rest assured that we are working hard to ensure your product is on its way to you as soon as possible.

    Thank you for your patience."

  • I ended up cancelling the DS order on eBay and got the fly more bundle from eBay 'basicvalue' seller listed above and on Whirlpool.

It had already arrived, shipped from Melbourne and is AU stock.

Ended up costing about AU$1697 with the 5% eBay voucher which I think is good value considering 2 extra batteries are $300 on their own and I wanted a case and multi charger anyway.

DS had no issues refunding when I contacted them on ebay.

  • When did you place the order with "basicvalue" and how soon did u get it?

    • Bought on a Friday. It shipped Tuesday, Oz post took forever as usual and delivered on Monday.

  • In case anyone is interested, I just called Dick Smith and they said they're still expecting to send out these orders on Monday 10/4, plus the guy I spoke with apologised for the delay and said he'd send me a $30 gift voucher. Happy days and worth the phone call, but of course, YMMV.

  • I just called them up and they said they are not shipping these today. They said they were going to follow this up and get back to me in 24 hours. I am thinking about cancelling my order as this is now the 3rd delay and i want to get mine for my Easter Trip.

Thanks for your time on the phone.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We will submit a follow up to our Senior Sales Team to check with our warehouse for the status of the dispatch of your DJI Mavic Pro Drone.
They will look into this and assist you via email as soon as possible.
Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to contact us if we can help with anything else.
    Kindest regards,

    Customer Care Team

  • I also just called them now and they told me that as per the system these will be shipped out from the warehouse by end of day today (10th April) and told me that they will send me a confirmation email within 24hrs. he said he will escalate it with the senior sales team.

    • That's good to hear. Each time i have called up i have gotten a different answer.

I am going to cancel my order anyway as i have found a local store which i would rather buy off

Yeah I just got the same one… I'm happy to wait a bit longer for the drone for that price, but it's getting a bit ridiculous now. I am going to America in early June and wanted it by then, so any more delays and it looks like that won't happen…
Its good that they've offered a $50 voucher, but I'm thinking if another bargain comes up I'll buy it and ask for a refund from DS/Kogan.

      • Yeah good on them for accepting responsibility and providing the voucher. But 2 months a long time to wait for something you expected to be delivered in 2 weeks.

I have used my voucher to buy some parts!

    • Just received this:

I received it as well, I'll wait as the price was good and I have batteries, chargers, screen protectors, cases, landing mat etc on the way. Might see what they have for the Mavic I can spend the $50 on.

    • Tempted to cancel and just buy elsewhere locally, but can't find anywhere able to get close to this price. Still looking though, as I don't really want to wait another 6 weeks (or more if they delay it again)

  • This is so annoying. Bought this to take overseas for a trip turns out it will be delivered a month after I am back. Any good deals for local stock?

  • The basicvalue ebay fly more bundle at 1770 is a good buy especially if you can stack it with cashrewards, top cashback or just an ebay sale. You wont get TRS with it though. Fwiw uf taking overseas be sure to read up on the drone laws. Eg I was going to take it to HK to do views kf Victoria harbour but the harbour is inbthe top list of no fly zones.

    • yup you'd want the batteries at a minumum. Mavic is way too fun and the batteries die way too quick. Once you take off first time in one of these, cost is an afterthought at best (till you get a fly-away :).

  • Anyone in here had experience with the DJI refresh? My understanding is that in the event of water damage, they will replace up to a maximum of two units with a cost per claim. I am more scare about the physical damage… bit of rain won't kill right?

    • No where does it says specifically it can be flown in adverse conditions such as rain or fog. They will also asses your flight log data before any claims are made. I bought dji refresh within 48 hours of operation as I was just too paranoid about crashes. Fly aways are only covered if you can recover the unit.

  • Has anyone received DickSmith ebay order (20% discounted)? I cancelled my order yesterday since its another 6 week delay. However on there website Mavic listing says "Ships in 1-2 business days". Looks like they are forcing to cancel discounted orders by delaying delivery. This is not a good practice Mr Kogan.

    • Obviously people who are going to buy direct from DJI at full price are going to be at top priority. Kogan have probably worked out a good deal to buy say 150-200 but at a lower priority. If you want it sooner you can always pay full price with DJI direct :p

      • I does not mean DJI web site. Kogan and dicksmith web sites, they listed full priced and ships in 1-2 business days.

        • Fair enough, now THAT is pretty dodge. But hey if you got time on your hands and can claim trs, thats still a great deal.

    • Great point, so I e-mailed them about it, and this is their response:

      Hi,

      Thanks for getting in touch.

The DJI Mavic Pro Drone was expected to be delayed further until late May, so another delay email was sent to you.

However, stock has become available early and we will be able to ship this product out to you within the next 1-2 business days!

Please rest assured that your order will be dispatched as quickly as possible.

We look forward to you receiving your order shortly."

Not sure if they're doing this to make up for their poor form in screwing over people who ordered (early at a discount), but either way, I'll take it!

    So, just got this email:

The following items have just left our warehouse:
    1x DJI Mavic Pro Drone
    (User Manual)
We ship goods from multiple facilities, so if your order is incomplete, don’t worry, the remaining items will be shipped to you soon.

Delay wasn't as bad as expected!

    • Just got the same email

      • Got the same email - i was about 60th buyer on the ebay listing.
Checked the tracking number on Aus post - does not come up with any info

  • Just got my drone from this deal! :) Item was shipped out yesterday so I assume it was express shipping. Box is a big damaged though as they just threw it into a plastic satchel. Not a big deal though.

    • nice, my one is being processed at local post facility, hoping to get it tomorrow. cant wait

  • start using the new drone today and……….. got this warning message ""Aircraft Motor Overloaded. Check whether gimbal is removed." & "Gimbal is restarting. Check that the gimbal rotates smoothly if restart fails again"… google about this problem and apparently this is very common.
contacted DJI online support and they advise the following:-

    Bobby
Okay, i suggest that you now send this drone to our repair center so that we can check what happen with your drone

    Complete Name:
    Email Address:
Shipping Address ( No PO Box )
    Phone Number
    Name of DJI Product
    Purchased date of Product
Dealer name / DJI Order Number
Brief Description of damage or technical issues.

    Bobby
Please send this information to our [email protected] for further assistance regarding your repair

    Bobby
Once you send this information, you are going to receive a case number and instruction in how to process your repair

    this is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I guess they got you to do the troubleshooting like gimbal calibration?

      • Nope no troubleshooting. And that calibration stuck at 5% then failed : (
