  • Quite a few places sell these (Union members, Vic Electricity, etc), but with this one you can select 50c postage (most want registered/express post $4-5).

Not sure if you need a Dinners Club card or not (it hints at you do on the front page)

Wish Cards are good as they can be used across the woolies group including servos (giving you 5% off fuel on top of whatever docket discount you get).

      • Diners Club recommends the use of Registered Post for all valuable and or sensitive freight, including Gift cards and Tickets. The use of Ordinary Post for these types of products is not recommended and Diners Club accepts no liability for the loss of any product in transit. By selecting the use of Ordinary Post for this order the customer agrees to these conditions and agrees to assume complete liability for the loss of any product(s) sent via Ordinary Post.

I wonder how legal this is. Cuz I'm quite sure any loss will be complained about by buyers.

  • entertainment book does coles cards

  • I asked Woolworths everyday rewards this question but they never got back to me; can you claim everyday rewards points when you use GIFT cards? If so then I'd definitely go ahead with this.

    • I believe so.

    • Yes, you can.

The Wish gift card is the same as any other gift card. It is a cash substitute. It does not affect how you use your Everyday Rewards Card.

You do your shopping as per normal, scan your Everyday rewards card to get your QFF points and 4c Petrol discount and instead of paying with your Credit Card or EFTPOS, use the gift card.

      • Thanks supabrudda, skysky. The question now is how much should I spend. From memory the limit is $1,000 per delivery for the gift cards, which comes to 4.5% saving with $5 delivery for registered post.

EDIT: which goes to show how good my memory is. I can't find any limit using the citibank link (I'm with citibank) http://www.citibank.com.au/AUGCB/APPS/portal/loadPage.do?pat….

Would you trust the Aus. post sending for example a $500 gift card by ordinary post?

  • You can use your fly buys card when using the coles gift cards too.

  • This company (ShopperAdvantage / Presidentialcard) takes more than 4 weeks to send out your order. This is ridiculous. If you order a few thousands dollar of gift cards, they take money from your CC immediately and withholding that money for more than 1 month. This means you are not only lose interest for 1 month but also out of pocket for that amount of money order as well.

    • Four weeks! Thanks for the heads up. That is a crazy amount of time.

      • actually it takes even more than 1 month.

Too bad they charged $3 for the registered post. Entertainment book sends you coles gift card with registered post free of charge. What about Presidential or Ambassador cards? Do they add extra postage fee as well?

    • If you put $500 in the bank (with virgin, 6.75% interest) you make $2.78 in interest a month. If you spend $500 at woolies with the gift card you save $22. Meh… hate the postage :P

edit: ooh they have 50c postage :)

      • Don't forget the tax you have to pay on the $2.78 interest…..means you are left with around $1.90.

  • $3.00 - Registered
    $5.00 - Registered Post & Handling

    What's the diff?

If you choose $2.50 there's no disclaimer text too.

  • Interestingly, they do not accept Diners Club card as a payment option!
    "How do I pay?
You can pay over the phone or on-line by using one of the following credit cards:
    MasterCard
    Visa"

    • That is soooo wrong..

    • I have a question, if we are paying these gift card by CC, will that transaction be treated as Purchase or Cash Advance? Coz Cash advance earns no points and comes with immediate high interest, which will kill the little 5% discount a lot times.

  • they do take AMEX and Diners
