    HOWEVER
    Man I'm sick of those cameras.

    They contact a chinese server 24/7 and dont allow local config.
    No RTSP, no "Email on Motion", it's 110% app based.
    It's a nightmare!

    Any chance you can give a deal on an actual configurable IP camera?
    Like, say, a FOSCAM?

    Also, can you do something better on this?

        First of all, it's pretty important you put the MODEL numbers on your site; for example; "Sricam®720P" could apply to more than 5 different models! (AP002?)

        Secondly, the sort I'd request come in many brands.
        Here in Australia, we're very privacy concerned. These APP based cameras are useful, but constantly offer video to chinese servers.

        Most people who want an IP camera know roughly how a network works, and are looking for email alerts, an RTSP stream that we can port forward, and 2 way audio is a bonus.

        Simply, the cameras we're getting offered a lot are good for phones, and people who don't know technology.
        What I think a lot of us would like, is a camera that has less 'useless features' and more actual security features.

          It's been that cheap (and cheaper!) in the past, and thats about $35AUD, which is a good price for Australians.

      The cameras are great. There's an SD card image you can install to disable the cloud apps and run RTSP. Very simple and unobtrusive

          @mryan64: yes I'm referring to the camera in this deal. If you're running the hacks, you need something external to handle the motion notifcations. By default, the Mi Home will handle notifications on motion

          Unfortunately, no - it's either one or the other. You can't have both running at the same time because they need exclusive access to the video source.

    I have a Xiaomi Yi Ant camera (chinese version) running with the chinese version of the Mi Home app.
    Will this work in the same app or will i need to have 2 apps for the different cameras?

        Yes it has been shipped out. I've been given a tracking url but the link is 404. So stupid.

        Edit: nevermind, I copied the tracking id in the email and looked it up manually on 17track.net and found the tracking. You guys need to check link that is automatically generated in those emails.
