Printing - Promotional Notepads - A4 - 10X Each 50 Pages

Hi Everyone,

I need to print promotional notepads in A4 size for my business. They basically have company header printed on them.

I checked vista print, they only have single size which is smaller than A5, I rather have A4.

I haven't checked office works yet, any online options you recommend ?

Thanks

Where abouts are you located? We had ours printed by MinuteMan in Melbourne. About $4.40 for an A4 pad of 50 sheets with full coloured letter heads and footers if you print 100. If it's 200 or above, it works out to be about $3.40 per pad. All above are GST inclusive.

    Printer here.

    • Officeworks don't have padding machines so therefore no notepads
    • If you can I would avoid any print-shop that you can walk in. They almost exclusively outsource their work to factory printers so you are paying a middle-man margin and because of their retail presence that margin is huge. Just avoid all Snap, Kwik Kopy & Minuteman outlets - way too expensive, and this is OzBargain.
    • If you don't have connections in the printing world then your best option is to use an online provider (also a middle-man but costs are lower online so margin is much less). I would recommend 1Print or CMYKonline. The links are directly to their A4 notepad pages
    • Thanks Tom, I don't have any connection to printing industry and this is the first time I am printing these.

      • Welcome :)

If you can find another online provide even cheaper then go for it. All printers in Australia use the same presses, inks, paper etc. Everything is sourced from the same suppliers and the same paper mill. So the quality of printing across all Australian printers is practically identical… with the exception of Vistaprint who use the worst of worst supplies, equipment and their practices are appalling to say the least - but they take the real bottomfeeders out of the market so we don't entirely hate them :)

If you're really trying to save the extra dollar then use the old White Pages to find a factory printer in your area and call them (they don't have websites) and ask them to beat the online price. They will be able to do so, but whether they do or not depends on how much work they have on that week

      Great to know Tom.

I think because business's only print once in a while, they just choose the local ones.

I know we just got 3 quotes from business's within walking distance. Incidentally the ones you mentioned above (Snap, Kwik Kopy & Minuteman)!

Minuteman was by far the cheapest.

We had some stationary printed via a marketing company we use, but they don't deal direct to public.

I should keep note of of 1Print(1print.net.au) or CMYKonline(cmykonline.com.au) in future.

No problems. I should be clearer in that there is nothing wrong with Snap, KK & MM products (in fact they outsource a lot of their work to the same factory printers that CMYKonline use) it's just that they have to cover their retail shopfront costs and therefore have higher prices for the same [literally] products.

The benefit that walk-in print shops have is that they have physical samples you can touch & feel and you can get to understand the difference the weight of the paper will make to the finished product. The online stores assume you know what you are ordering. For some products, like notepads, there is only one paper weight variant so it's easier to order online. For other products, like business cards, there are so many different paper and embellishment variations that it can make sense to choose your paper & embellishments at a walk-in print shop - then once you know what you like order future jobs from online services
