E-Bay will fold and allow them to cancel the sales, denying anyone the option to provide feedback.

Seen it done many times before so most probably will be allowed in this instance.

      • I'd love to see an example of this happening.

        • +3

I bought something from target's ebay and had this happen last year.

        • +1

          @rob74:
Thanks - then I guess it is not unprecedented, and we've all wasted our time. :(

        • @rob74:

Damn. That defeats the purpose of feedback in a way. Inb4 quick leave bad feedback now. Buy then again if they cancel the sale then there wouldn't be feedback to link it to

        • You won't see it unless it happens to you. One minute the item is in your list and you have the ability to add feedback, the next minute poof, nothing there in your 'purchased' list, and nothing to leave feedback for…..

      • Looks like EBay hasn't intervened yet!

    • +1

Thanks for all the anonymous neg votes… I'd love to know why what I said in the comment above was so wrong.

      • +1

I'm going to guess that the post is too long, people just followed suit after the first few negs

        • Ok, thanks.

  • +2

    http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/sinodisp/au/cases/nsw/NSWS…

tl;dr Guy buys 250k plane for 150k on ebay, NSW court rules a contract had formed and buyer wins

e: Not that I'm advocating for people to start looking for bargains on lawyers

    • It's a bit different when you're talking action auctions I believe. Listing your items in an auction means you are entering into an agreement to purchase on the final price. I see it happen all the time, people don't know how eBay works and they list something up with a low starting bid. It's a low interest item so they only get 1 bid, end up having to sell it for the minimum bid price. The only way out of this ,for the seller, at this point in the sale, is to claim that the item is broken etc, which is a bit dodgy.

What we're looking at here is a simple case of a retailer listing a product "buy now" at a price and making a mistake. It sucks but it's not like we can do much about it. Totally different beast auctions vs buy now.

      • They listed a product, buyer paid listed price, seller took the money.

        If anything it's simpler.

    got a email from grays..

We’ve identified you as being affected by a recent technical issue in regard to a purchase made with GraysOnline. We are sorry that you didn’t have a good experience. Therefore‚ as a token of goodwill‚ we’ve popped a $20 voucher code to spend on GraysOnline in this email to help make up for it.

    • +2

Just got the same email, no email about a refund???

      • Yep same, $20 credit email but no email about refund….

      • yes, no email about a refund, so im calling now to ask where my money.

i just called and their gonna push my refund as a priority

reason of refund, item is out of stock lol

        • +1

LOL of course its out of stock at that 'price'. Next week we'll have stock again for twice the price!

Interesting they chose the no stock option to get out of it.

I thought that was a no no in ACCC eyes, selling stock you don't have! Plus if stock appears next week, then what!?

They should have just said it was a pricing error!

        • Yep it is a no no.
          https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/non-deliver…

If stock pops up again soon for more, then report them to the ACCC

    • Just got the same email too

    • +1

      Same email as well…

Funny thing is that the voucher says expire 7/1/2017…

      • +3

Mine says the same. Lets all combine our vouchers together and buy a car. lol

      • expire 7/1/2017

Probably American date format, meaning July 1 2017.

        • More likely, wasn't really expecting it from an "Australian" Retailer.

      • USA date format?

    • Same. No refund as yet!

  • +3

Just received the following email from GraysOnline.
"We’ve identified you as being affected by a recent technical issue in regard to a purchase made with GraysOnline. We are sorry that you didn’t have a good experience. Therefore‚ as a token of goodwill‚ we’ve popped a $20 voucher code to spend on GraysOnline in this email to help make up for it."

    • Same, I think we all knew it was too good to be true, so no real surprise. Would have been a steal if the price was honored…

  • Arhhh bummer looks like its going to fold.
Quick leave negative feedback while you still can.

  • -6

I saved my vote for negging. I guess it is time? Sorry RogueWolf, this is about the slow response from Graysonline and its slow refund, and not about you posting what could have been an amazing deal.

    • +2

So whats your point. Negative votes are to alert others that there is something wrong with the deal. Given that the deal expired a few days ago, who will be alerted?

Those who bought already - in that case its too late.

So you "saved" it for nothing. Put your negative vote on eBay not here

      • +2

I did not purchase from eBay. Negative votes will inform future potential purchasers about Graysonline's slow response and refund when they search OzB.

  • now who can the find the best $20 deal on grays

seeing what i can buy with my voucher

  • Same email.

  • Got a $20 voucher email…error or not Grays have terrible customer service.

  • +1

This is what i got from grays

No email received, I bought from ebay

    • Mine just came through :( Probably flooding their O365 mail at the moment!

    • Yeah just received the email

  • Do we file a dispute on paypal? Or just wait?

    • For what? The refund? I'd wait.

    • +1

File a dispute if you wish to punish Greys.

PayPal can increase fees for merchants who have more than 2% disputed items.

If you're on eBay, you can leave negative feedback.

      • -4

Why do that? No need to go stamping your feet over a mistake. It was stated when the item was available that is was more than likely a mistake.

        • Why not? I passed on the Crucial MX300 1TB M.2 SSD deal since I already ordered this, now its out of stock. Putting on my steel cap boots…

        • -2

So many children on this website.

  • Expires: 7/1/2017

    • saw that too. usa date format?

Seems they pulled all SanDisk listings?

I think I'll buy a circular saw blade with my $20 coupon and go ninja by flinging it at tress and stuff

    • I have a better target in mind than trees, it starts with Grays and ends with Online

  • if you guys want to give a neg feedback why don't you buy a $20 item with the voucher and then leave a negative review?

    • +2

Not worth the hassle of dealing with them again.

  • Yup same email… cant leave neg on ebay until 7 days after purchase… 3 days left before the listing disappears.. Can email back and say I'm happy to wait for stock….oh wait do not reply email …good job grays.

  • +2

just got the email will be leaving negative feedback on ebay for them

    • +6

Leave a negative feedback from them on:

      http://www.productreview.com.au/p/grays-online.html

      • Done

        • Look for what clearly seems like a Greys employee (or someone associated with the company) accusing Ozbargain of exploiting / cheating the system.

A newly created account made to respond to their justified negative feedback.

  • +4

I received the same email and I bought through ebay.

The only difference is my $20 credit is being applied to my ebay account to use at grays ebay store or so they say.

  • Just received the email for ebay purchase.

Need to wait 7 days for negative feedback

    • Please select the "I will leave Feedback later" option. Come back after 7 days to leave negative or neutral Feedback for this transaction. Damn :/

    • Very few who are angry now will remember to leave negative feedback in 7 days.

  • I got this email as well

    Hi Valued Customer,

Thank you for recent purchase on eBay with Grays.

We regretfully advise that we are unable to fulfil your recent purchase of the SanDisk Products.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Team by either replying to this email or contacting us through eBay.

  • Still no refund information email, but only $20 credit email..

  • +7

do they sell dildo's so i can buy one with my $20 voucher and tell them to keep it and go f**k themselves?

    • +5

You will probably forget to tell them and end up getting f**ked by them twice.

  • +1

Let the negative feedback train commence!

    EDIT - err,
"Sorry, you can't leave negative or neutral Feedback for this PowerSeller until 7 days after purchase.
In the mean time, please contact the seller to try to work things out."

But, in the meantime, here are their current "before" eBay feedback stats. Let's see how much/little this hurts them.

    http://i.imgur.com/ue0s5sF.png

  • I was one of the first 20 and also got cancelled.

    • It sold 28~31 of them when I bought mine and got cancelled~

  • -4

It's over everyone. Just received this:

    Hi Valued Customer,

Damn. I ordered 2, and was really looking forward to my 2TB SSD RAID-0 array. How unfortunate. I wonder if I'll recieve 2x $20 vouchers.

    • Hmm, yeah, so does that mean the brodens who ordered 10 and 30 will get $200 & $600 in vouchers? Will be a laugh if they can only use them one per transaction!

  • Wow guess they will be getting a lot of negative feedback

  • Got my email also $20 ebay credit

  • Got the email too now. Sad!

  • +16

I don't usually leave negative feedback for genuine pricing errors, but waiting 5 days to notify buyers something they would have know the next morning is a piss-poor effort.

    • long weekend.

      • Grays head office and customer service department operate out of Sydney. No long weekend.

        • thought it was for something else. was in a couple of states.

maybe they just used this knowledge as an excuse to get additional interest on our payments.

        • +2

@insular: Oh no not the "did it to get interest" BS

Really let it go, 5 days interest at 2.5% Per ANNUM, gives what? It would take more time to work out how many cents they made, so I'll leave that to you to calculate.

Then theres the $20 voucher they are handing out.

If it came off it would have been a bargain.

Someone at Grays stuffed up. To say they were trying to get cheap money (interest) shows a lack of life experience

The only issue is how long these clowns took to let people know.

        • It's PayPal who will be reaping the benefits, no mater how small. They have ~$163,000 in payments for the ultra drives alone sitting in there account.

But really, this issue is Grays have locked up at least $210 of everyone's money for 7 days (5 days so far and another two to refund). Frankly the refunds should be made as a matter of absolute priority, and clearly they're not willing to apportion extra human resources to do it.

As for the $20 voucher…. Yes they have the odd good deal. But most of the stuff is unsalable tat.

        • @RockyRaccoon: i would let it go, if i were actually holding on to it in the first place.

as in, i don't really care.

5 days will be more like 15 or longer, around 163k each day, brings in a bit of extra cash for doing nothing.

2.5% maybe, or more elsewhere, through another means. CASINO! ALL BETS ON BLACK!

i didn't say they concocted this scheme to get cheap money, you've got quite an imagination.

i dont think the issue of how long it took them to let people know is even an issue. 5 days isn't that bad given that a weekend was included in that. board meetings, calls to suppliers etc. to discuss whether they might be able to fill the orders might have taken place.

lack of life experience? please, quit stroking it.

        • @insular: 163K each per day?

          1. Agree total sales would be around that
          2. As ash2000 said its sitting with Paypal
          3. 2.5% PA = $167.00 (allowing for your 15 day refund process)

And who has "lost the interest" probably the credit card issuer not the buyer.

(if someone is paying credit card interest they shouldn't be here at Ozbargain buying stuff)

You raised the concept that they delayed things to get the extra interest

as an excuse to get additional interest

Thats the "it" I was commenting on. 😇

The rest of my comment was under that "it" context

My email was a little different:

    Hi Valued Sucker,

Thank you for recent purchase attempt on eBay with Gays.

We humorously advise that we are unable to fulfil your recent broden of the SanDisk Products.

Due to major stuff up by an incompetent employee the product was never available. A full refund of your purchase price will never be completed and funds will never be transferred back to you via your original payment method.

I would like to assure you that this is a common occurrence; we take every measure to increase the likelihood of this happening. As an apology for the inconvenience, we will be organising a useless $20 voucher to be sent to you, not to be used on your next purchase in our fleaBay store, Gaysonline-Australia. The voucher code won't be sent to you within approximately 10 business days, directly to your fleaBay account.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to try to contact our incompetent Customer Service Team by either replying to this email so we can ignore you. or contacting us through fleaBay (where we can ignore you as well).

    Regards,
Gaysonline-Australia Customer service team (minus one staff member)

    • +1

Was this email for the angry broden that ordered 10+ units?

  • +3

lets all leave negs for grays online ebay because of their crap voucher and their email one day prior to the date due for delivery.

  • -7

I'm sorry, did I stumble upon www.dramaqueens.com.au by mistake?

    • +4

i actually clicked that link. thanks for nothing.

      • -3

LOL. Were you hoping to find another half-price SSD?

        • At what point did you realise you were wasting your time commenting here?

  • +5

This shouldn't be negged to oblivion, we all knew it was a pricing error.. I just hope I can get them to give me free shipping on top of the voucher cause they would kill the voucher with it if not.

    • +2

I would have hoped they would have communicated more promptly.

      • I agree but I get this on eBay a lot, I bought something during the $20 off $50 spend the other night and I had to contact the seller to see if they had shipped it because they didn't click the shipped button and they still haven't, although it was actually shipped.. Plus I got my 20% off back as credit for my next ebay purchase so I'm happy.

  • +1

ill be leaving neg feedback on product review, not because they aren't giving me the drive, but because I've heard nothing from them.

  • +10

Poor form. Now I have to recheck my paypal until I know the payment is reversed. What an inconvenience. Also, I never got the above apology email, just a voucher code email. Grays is cheap for some things, but sacrifices too much on customer experience for it.

  • Your GraysOnline refund has been approved.

thats the email heading i got.. didn't even tell me what the refund is for….
