Anyone who is familiar with Fujifilms X100 series of cameras will know that the X100F is a one of the best compact cameras on the market today. If you are also familiar with the cost of Fujifilms X-series cameras you will know that $1599.95 is a very good price. It started at $1,799 then got dropped to $1,599. I'm not sure if you can get it cheaper at other local camera stores, but this is the lowest I could find at the moment. I checked B&H photo and it is listed at US$1299 which works out to about AU$1700 based on current exchange rates. Cheers.

I owned the first X100 that came out and it was the camera that got me hooked to photography. So I'm really excited about this one :)
Strange comparison. Dont forget to add on an extra $600 for the lens. Its also significantly bigger.
MUST RESIST! It's been on my radar, hopefully this remains the price for a while and a cashback promo comes up :)
Fujifilm does regular cashbacks so that is a definite. The only question is when :)
I see you owned the first x100, how do you think your photography skills has come along since? I primarily just want to get a start on street photography, but the X-Pro2/X-T20 is really drawing me in!
I started using the first X100 on full auto (it was my first camera) and I found that the jpegs were really stunning. Seeing the results really inspired me to learn more, so now I find that I can shoot without having to be in full auto anymore. Using the camera a lot also helped heaps :) and it all started with that jump-start in inspiration from my first images :)
@almond crunch: That's awesome to hear, keep it up! Have you started using different focal lens from a secondary camera? It's probably the main reason I''m sticking to the X100F, because I prefer the simplicity/cheaper in the long run.
I believe Sony A6500 is better
The A6500 is an interchangeable lens camera, and it is a superb one, but it is a different type of camera. The X100F is a fixed prime camera, more like the Sony RX1 (also a stellar camera by the way). Both the RX1 and X100F are great, so it'll be more about personal preference methinks.
Sony RX1 is full frame & has the Zeiss lens, hence it is more pricey than this X100F
If you have extra cash, Sony is the one to go$5200 and $1600 is one helluva price difference, but I have to agree with you. If I had a lot of extra cash, I would go full frame as well.
@almond crunch: where did you get the $5200 price from? It's only $2700 from digidirect.

but yes, $1000 difference isn't small@almond crunch: Ah you meant the RX1R II
@mcp2kpro: sorry about that, I saw the Rx1R ii on digidirect

totally different beast :)
@almond crunch: yeah, just the thought of having one already made my photography skill increased by 10
Yes, oranges are indeed better than apples at being oranges.
Good luck finding one in stock :(
Based on history, ebay should have 20% off sometime this or next week. They usually include Teds in that sale which could mean extra savings. There is no guarantee that it would happen but I am holding out for the 20% off before pulling the trigger on Olympus M43.
thanks for the heads up. does the ebay sale happen regularly?
This is just based on history. They have 10% off, 15% off or 20% off different times during the year which include different retailers. 20% off is usually 3-4 times a year. In March 2016, they had it on 7/3/17 and I am hoping they would repeat that. They would definitely want more people shopping on eBay as Amazon is coming to Australia.
I'm eyeing the x-t2 on teds…they have it for 2199 on ebay and could have got 10% off that with the last site wide deal, But I reckon a 20% off is coming. They have the graphite edition for 2499 which is a couple of hundred cheaper than most places.
Was pretty set on getting a dji mavic but i have also been looking to replace my x100s that i sold years ago
So Fuji have finally updated the X100T. Not sure if the differences is justified to upgrade.
I've been contiplating of getting one but at this price range I might as well get the xt2 or xpro2. With the last Fuji cash back you can get the XPro2 for $1,800ish.
Having said that this is a mini XPro2 and a fantastic camera.
