Ozito 406mm 41cc Petrol Chainsaw - $118 @ Bunnings

80

Hey folks this model the 41cc engine is usually $169 right now it is $118 which is one dollar cheaper than the 25cc model. I checked the catalogue and its not on sale so maybe its a clearance item or just a price drop? For the price it seems like a great deal considering the engine size and plus its 2 stroke. Seeing as chainsaws usually only see light use it should be okay. Unless you live in a farm.

This deal is just in time for winter so you can start your firewood pile.

The Ozito 406mm 41cc Petrol Chainsaw is perfect for effortless cutting around the backyard or small property. Ideal for felling medium size trees, preparing firewood, pruning and clearing fallen branches.

Featuring a high performance 41CC full crank 2-stroke engine, together with Easy Start system and auto choke enables easy, user friendly starting. The tool free chain replacement and tensioning dial allows for fast, easy and safe blade changes. Safety features include an automatic chain brake that will engage in the event of kickback and bucking spikes which assist with the cutting action and help reduce the possibility of kickback. Anti-vibration handle absorbs vibration during use, reducing user fatigue and increasing user comfort and the conveniently located throttle safety lock prevents unintentional starting for increased operator safety.

The high quality Oregon® bar and chain with automatic oiling provides constant lubrication which reduces friction for maximum cutting performance and the u nit comes pre-assembled, simply just add your fuel and start.

Chain Brake: Safety feature provides additional protection from dangerous kickbacks when chain jams occur.

  • Make sure it has an inertia chain brake as you don't want to part your hair with one of these.
    And do a course,
Treefelling for idiots would be a start

    • Yea i wouldn't cut down a big tree at all! I bought a reciprocating saw to cut down branches but this would of been much cheaper. Also more fun!

  • @OP which store did you see that price? i called Bunnings Scoresby and they said the price was $169 ticketed.

    • Its on there website?

      • website shows 169

        • Mine shows $118 weird

        • @aussieprepper:

whats your default store set to?

        • @CrazyJJ: Randwick NSW and i just checked the store i use Alexandria nsw

        • @aussieprepper:

seems like might be local to that area or limited to NSW ?

        • @CrazyJJ: I just changed my default store to some where random Hervey bay in QLD and its the same price $118?

        • @CrazyJJ: Weird i checked the catalogue again and didn't find it. Will they price match?

        • @aussieprepper:

My local store was able to price match after the manager looked at my phone.

I paid $78 for this same chain saw at bunnings last year. Couldnt get it started so I took it back to the store for help. They couldnt start it either so they grabbed another one to try out and the 2nd one has no trouble starting. Great machine.

    • Excellent price!

  • $118 in WA

  • +2

I've had one as a spare for about a year now it's cheap and cheerful. Doesn't like too much work - overheats easily, stalls and won't start until it cools down.

Good for taking off tree limbs or lending out when a mate asks to borrow a chainsaw and you don't trust them with your stihl/huskie.

  • $118 for me in SA. Possibly reduced to beat the $139 one in the Mitre 10 catalogue?

  • The perfect tool for fighting deadites, fuel and snappy one liners not included

  • I bought this model a year ago.

    http://ozito.com.au/products/chainsaw-petrol-40cc-400mm/

Worked a treat for first 20 cuts, except the on off switch is right where the handle is (so it dies mid cut when you knock it).

It then fell in 2 pieces as the toolless tensioner isn't up to the task. But this one requires spanners to tension, so might be OK as long as the switch isn't in a bad spot.

  • Return it and get this one fo free

  • It's $118 in the Chadstone Vic store now (online at least), so might be similarly priced in other Vic stores now.

  • Felled/cut up 30+ trees (mostly palms, some wider than the bar).. still going strong a year later, starts every time.
    I'm on my 3rd chain now (requires a 16" or 406mm, 0.050, 57 link chain).
Palm residue can gunk these up and block air flow or gear..
if this happens clean it out then upon next start.. give it some revs in bursts and it will clear it out.

It came with a quality bar and chain.. very sharp.. seems very safe, never kicked back.

Instructions are very clear.. comes with mixing container to make fuel mixing foolproof.
It doesn't come with a sharpening file despite the manual saying it does (and it doesn't say what file size should be used to sharpen the chain.. but I'm pretty sure you want 4mm, bunnings sell a timbermans sharpening kit).

(got a new bar and chain for it at masters clearance for about $5 each)

    • Hey mate

Just bought it, how do i tell when chain needs replacing, does it just cut slower ??

      • every couple of goes you should be sharpening chain with a proper kit, that includes round file, plus flat file to bring the front tooth down..
hard to explain in text.. youtube vids explain it well.

when you do this but still find the saw produces only 'powdered' wood, not nice chunks.. might be time for new chain.
or.. you can take it to a mower shop to get professionally sharpened..

        new chain is $30ish

  • +2

Professionally sharpened mean the most junior guy in the mower shop gets on a little drop grinder and does a heap of chains as fast as possible
If you get it back and it's blue from overheating,
    it's not gonna last long

    • True! But by pro sharpened I meant /thought they had a special automatic machine thing. My bro got one from aldi he swears by.. But he is easily excited.
