$2 Sandwich or Sushi @ 7-Eleven (Every Wednesday in March)

2310

Just saw on 7-Eleven Australia Facebook page that the $2 Wednesday Sandwiches are back in March. This time they also include Sushi. I have never seen Sushi in any of the stores across Sydney that I have been to though. So can't comment on how good the Sushi are

Good deal, just wondering if this applies to all sandwiches, or only the cheap/lower quality ones?

    • +5

You'll will find they only put out the cheaper ones.. At least this is what they have done in the past. The $7 ones will be back the next day.

      • +1

but if you ask 7/11 its off all sandwiches

        • -7

And? Stores still intentionally do not put out the $7 ones and put the cheap ones out instead. So when people ask they can say they've sold out and earn more by selling it the next day.

        • +3

@Orpheus: ….. that was my point.
dude asked if the price was off all sandwiches
someone replied saying that they dont put $7 sandwiches out
"but if you ask 7/11 its off all sandwhiches"……

        • +3

maybe they are dick smithing them

      • +4

The 7-11 stores around Newcastle I've always been able to get the $7 for $2. Staff even went out the back to get more for people.

        • +1

that's a miracle, most store near me not only got $5 dollar, they only got 1 variety only on wednesday.. i.e. ham and cheese so to put people off.

    • Its normally the $5 ones only.

    • +1

Usually all sandwiches but will find hey don't stock any new deluxe sandwiches but you can get yesterday's if there is any left

      • +1

So any deluxe sandwiches will be old stock from the previous tuesday?

        • +2

          Yes

        • +1

@kingmoron: so they leave stale sandwiches out for sale?

        • +1

          @PVA:
yes they do leave out sandwiches. check the dates on them next time and they will vary

    • +1

$7 sandwiches available in most north of Brisbane suburbs that I've seen, but have to be in really early to get them as they go quick.

  • +6

And there are 5 Wednesdays this March.

    • +4

And they're all egg ones too.

    • +2

And they are all on wednesday

      • +2

        And all in March.

  • +11

But thats more than how much they pay their own staff.

    • -8

Wouldn't it have more meaning if it was 'that's LESS thanwhat they pay their own staff?'

      • +2

        No.

      • +2

No, my friend work there and she get $2 an hour, not less. Stop spreading faulse information.

    • +1

I got 25 per hour base wage when working at 7-11. It was boring as (profanity) but the pay was good.

      • +1

        Are you an international student?

        • +1

Lol no I'm an Australian student

  • +1

at $2 it will be worth trying their sushi

    • +2

      Worth trying it once.
Let me know if you stick at it - I didn't. Sushi at a proper shop isn't much more expensive and yet manifestly better.

      • +1

I'd rather buy Sushi at Woolies than at 7-11, made fresh on site.

        • +2

its good sushi at woolies, but not $2 :(

        • +1

          @Level380: What's the price? $2.50?

        • +4

          @sween64:

My local woolies sells them at ridiculous prices. They're generally $8 for 3 sushi

        • @weaponmaster007:
          Rip off.

        • @sween64: $2.50? hahaha keep going…..

        • @sween64:

          $4.00

        • @starboy17: That's due to the cost of living in Sydney!

      • +2

'Manifestly Better" - So true. That adverb explains they're food in general so well.

  • -1

    Sushi is crap

    • +5

It's like buying laxatives, but cheaper.

      • +1

if you want cheap laxattives, queensland tap water, cant go wrong!

      • +5

Never take a laxative and sleeping pills at the same time.

  • +24

Can already get the best $2 sushi in Melbourne so no deal there.

    • +2

not sure why you're getting downvoted, i for one appreciate your tip as to where to get the cheapest sushi in melbourne!

      • +3

No worries, negs mean nothing to me, i'm just suggesting an alternative store.

    • +3

Cool, are there more than 600 stores around Melbourne?

    • Our favourite place! They do close at 6pm though.

    • One of my favourite sushi places in Melbourne. Got me thru many meals during uni days.

Quality is good, not best. But $2 after all these years is unbeatable.

    • +3

Isn't $2 for a Sushi roll about standard price? Well $2-$3 anyway.

  • +4

Not sure why the above users are getting downvoted for saying the sushi is crap. You can find half decent sushi for $2 - $2.50 in most cities that hopefully wont make you sick.

  • +1

Does this come with a side of Salmonella too ??

    • +3

Please try and update us all.

    • +4

I think the sushi does. With some Kewpie mayonnaisella, ricella and noriella.

  • +5

YESSSSS, about time. Now i finally have something to go with $1 coffee

    • +3

I often go the $1 coffee and $1 banana. $2 for a pretty tasty snack & drink and better for me than chocolate (and probably the cheapest food at 7-11).

    • +24

Now i'll upgrade with a $2 sambo & have a 3 course meal for $4 in my car. Classy.

      • +8

You are the epitomy of the "cremé de la cremé of Ozb".

      • +1

With this month's new offers, you can actually have your 3 course healthy meal for only $2 (free coffee, and free fruit). Lol!

  • +1

I loooove these cheap sangers. Canberra has some spendy-ass lunches if you eat out. This is cheaper than making it!

  • What time on Wednesdays does this start?

    • -1

      12:01 am

      • -2

        Wrong, it's actually 12:00am 01/03/17

  • Are they wholemeal/white/multigrain/spelt sandwiches?

    • I used to get chicken/lettuce/mayo with multigrain bread, and it had all the little spelt things and other little seeds stuck to it. For $2 it's pretty good.

  • +3

The $2 sushi is made up of two rolls if anyone is wondering.

  • +7

So this month's meal plan is 40% off Dominos on Mondays, 9 pcs of KFC on Tuesdays, $2 sandwiches and sushi on Wednesdays…

    • upgrade your kfc to $10 for 10 wicked wings + 10 nuggets

  • I don't post often but only came here to say the 711 at Wynyard (opposite Wynard Park) is also selling the $7 gourmet sandwiches for $2.

I had the chicken/avo/lettuce (there was a paper thin smear of avo) and a couple of lettuce pieces. Chicken was tasty though and well seasoned with mayo. Just don't expect slices of avo like I did.

    • +1

For $2 you be lucky to get traces of avocado in there.

    • Chicken-avo too salty I felt. Prefer the egg-lettuce-mayo. But can't complain for $2.

  • Scored some for brekky this morning. Thanks op

  • You can get the $7 sangas but you have to be early.

  • just went to George st Bris 7/11 (opposite district/supreme court) loads of sandwiches - about 10% were $7 sandwiches.

  • +4

Eating the tuna sushi, must say it's not good at all. There's hardly any tuna, and whatever is there is super dry. Wouldn't recommend it

    • Bought the tuna sushi today and a lamb pie, agree I wouldn't recommend the sushi. Wasn't dry but barely any tuna in it.

  • +1

Love this deal, lunch today and tomorrow sorted, plenty of $7 sandwiches available too - not an egg sandwich in sight.

    • Where do you live? In the middle of nowhere?

      • It's 3km from Melb CBD. Around 10am

    • +1

What are the $7 sandwiches? I was looking for a list but can't find.
I saw they have a new pulled pork one which I just tried. Results: pretty gross.
They call it pulled pork, but it's really some kind of sweet and spicy mystery meatloaf on dry bread. Won't be having that one again.

      • +2

I bought a chicken parma sandwich and a chicken schnitzel sandwich.

        • +1

          The schnitzel is gross.

        • which one of the sandwiches are best?

  • Anyone know how often they restock during the day? Just checked out Glenferrie/Hawthorn 7/11. No sushi on the shelf but plenty of sandwiches.

    • They may or may not have more out the back, just ask the attendant but it's after lunch now so possibly not

  • Incase helpful to anyone

Went to one on George Street Sydney near capitol theatre.. ample $7 ones on display and heaps of sushi stacked up

  • +1

Tried the terayaki chicken sushi from Central Station, Sydney.

They give you 2 rolls for $2, and there was a fair amount of stock. Not much variety though.

But barely anything inside the actual roll, was very bland. Worst of all, rice was dry and lumpy.

Can't comment for other stores or flavours, but I should have gone for a sandwich.

    • And only one soy sauce. Tight.

    • Sushi sounds just terrible, made by rough amateurs
Is the rice correctly flavored with Mirin etc?

  • tried $7 chicken parama was rubbish , lucky i bought a good ol ham cheese tomato aswell

  • Grabbed 2 $7 Chicken Schnitzels this morning with my coffee. Thanks OP.

  • Picked up $7 pulled pork sandwich, other available but they are the ones that go out of stock quickly

Sushi was 2 rolls but very dry and tasteless

  • I don't go to 7/11 very often. Can anyone advise if there tend to be sandwiches available at 7.30am? This is the time I can drive by a 7/11 on my way to work. I'd assume the sandwiches get delivered during the night. Though I went in at 10pm once to one next to the RPAH to get a sandwich for my dad who was in the emergency department and there were plenty available.

  • My paleo says no, but my drunk self at 1am says "fruit you, pay me".

  • Tried two different 7-11s, both have lots of sandwiches, but I agree the $7 ones are pretty stale. The $5 chicken and lettuce ones are the pick

  • +1

Zero anything on shelf today, either ppl are getting in super early (midnight) or 7/11 not stocking.

  • +1

My local reckon they didn't receive any sandwiches this morning so the shelves were bare

  • +1

No sandwiches on shelf at my store in Melbourne (East) this morning and they took down the street signage I saw last week. Sign on shelf (looked official) said no sandwiches try our sushi or hot food instead (didn't state reason).

Staff member said there were no sandwiches due to a "quality issue". Are other stores in Melbourne stocking them or just BS from store?

    • That sounds a bit ominous; like failing a health inspection for bacteria levels and dumping the entire batch for example (speculation)
There was something about supply issues on their Facebook

      • Just spoke to their corporate help line. Apparently there is no supply for Victorian stores today due to the issue but pies/sushi are available for $2 instead (not sure how much pies normally cost but not as much value as the sandwiches).

Strange there is no official post that I saw on their Facebook page to let people know.
