    • There has been nearly 200 sold since I listed this bargain.
Glad I have contributed to the bargains out there.

Also my best bargain submitted ever. Up to 96 votes.

      • now we'll see if they can possibly deliver that many :)

Thanks, i've been waiting for an SSD deal.

    • Me too!
      Thanks OP!

  • Must resist temptation.

Are these better than the sandisk plus 240gb?

Never mind, looks about 50% faster, might grab one. :)

far out thx @shane_au - SSDs have been expensive lately - 750s even at 20% off specials have been about $105
i have bought about 150 of the 750/840/850 over time and had zero fails in many macbook, imac & pc upgrades (touching wood right now)
they also come with handy windows clone software that can shrink partitions and ive never had a fail
i also use a couple of 850 pro 512gb in my blackmagic 4k which gets quite hot when shooting RAW and never had any issues
    pretty robust drives imo

FYI, I've bought from FastShippingTech a few times now and although their stock comes from NZ at least it's genuine. Shipping can seem a bit slow but not terribly so; expect to wait a couple of weeks. Other than that, I've had no trouble with them and they've been good to deal with.

    • See more from me below…

  • Great thanks heaps was going to buy at 139 but now got some at the 115

  • Anybody else unable to search their store?
    http://stores.ebay.com.au/FastShippingTech

The page says "Invalid eBay ID". When you try to do a search, you get a "Sorry, this store does not exist." error.

    Does not inspire confidence.

    • Okay, given my previous comments I'm going to look like a goose here but bear with me. Further to 44sunsets comment I also had a look at their eBay site and tried searching. I suspect they've had a name change as their eBay store has a logo for 'PB Technologies' with a link pointing to a store with the name PBTech-New-Zealand. Doing a search also tries to use the PBTech store name.

Knowing they've got an AUS web site I tried to go there but FASTshippingtech.com.au can't be found. Thinking that a bit strange since I was only looking at it last week I searched my browser history and found that I was going to FREEshippingtech.com.au. This was starting to look…odd…to say the least. Anyhow, I did a WHOIS lookup of FREEshippingtech.com.au and found it's registered to PB Technologies. FREEshippingtech also has a matching eBay store with much the same inventory and pricing.

So, yes, it looks fishy. Having said that, I stand by my comments that I have bought from them as FREEshippingtech directly off their web site, and I haven't had any troubles at all. Slower than normal delivery but well packed, genuine items, and a smooth process throughout.

FREEshippingtech doesn't have the SSD mentioned by the OP but believe this deal is genuine.

      • No worries — I didn't mean to imply that they're dodgy/shonky, it's just that I automatically become wary when the store doesn't work properly. moneybaby's reply below provided a search link, so it's all good.

PB Tech is a well known and good store in New Zealand.

They had a name switch last year, and I'm guessing they haven't bothered to update their store links which explains why everything is broken.

You can use this link to search their store.

      • +1

Thanks for the link — I wanted to see if they're selling the bigger capacity 850 EVOs, but alas those aren't discounted.

  • any good deals on higher capacity drivers?

  • This should be able to fit and use in most laptop right?

    • Yep, 2.5" drive

      • +1

Note that it's not the width of the drive that makes a difference, it's the thickness. Most HDDs and older SSDs are 9.5mm, the newer SSDs are 7mm. This one's a 7mm drive so it should fit almost any laptop (especially if it uses a frame to hold the drive in place), at worst you may need to put something in to fill up the extra 2mm and stop something else rattling around.

        • Good point!

        • Most drives I've bought come with the height extender frame

        • +1

If the drive is rattling after fitting, then there is something wrong with the way you have fit it. I am yet to use the adapter/spacer that comes with SSD's. Once the drive is fit to the connector there is or should not be any scope for rattle.

Wish they had a good price for a 500GB!

    • You can buy two 256G and run as raid0 then you get 512G ssd at speed 1GB/s.

      • +1

Probably not in a laptop though…

        • I bought a caddy bay to replace the DVD drive in my laptop to install the second ssd.

  • Been looking for an SSD for the past few days, Thanks for the deal, Purchased :)

  • +1

Very tempting - but my local Umart in Brissy has this drive in stock for $138.00, and the 500gb version for $229.00.

Maybe worth paying the extra for local warranty - a couple of SSD drives have failed on me over the years.

Incidentally - could anyone tell me the difference between the 750 and the 850 models? The 750's are very well priced.

    • +1

The 850 EVO uses (3D) V-NAND that is TLC (3 bit per cell). The 850 PRO uses V-NAND that is MLC (2 bit per cell), which has longer endurance (also reflected by the 10 year warranty).

The 750 EVO uses 2D NAND that is also TLC, so it has less endurance. The 750 also has a shorter 3 year warranty, compared to the 5 year warranty in the 850 EVO.

      In terms of price 850 PRO > 850 EVO > 750 EVO.

      • Thanks for that very useful info.

  • Thinking about whether I buy this to go with my new Ryzen build (benchmarks pending), but I'm thinking I'd like to go for the 500GB model. I think the 256 will be too restrictive with what games i can play off it.

    • You could also consider a M.2 drive since most AM4 motherboards have M.2 or NVMe compatibility.

Bugger looks like they ended it early: "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."
    "

  • Has anyone actually received their drive yet? Bit concerned about the 'error in listing' message. Why did it take them so long to pull it??

  • I have received shipping info today. I ordered when there was only about 30 sold.
