it WAS $1599… so yes this is $14 more
I believe best price reported so far was $1475 at TGG: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287231#comment-4365917
But anyway, that's beside the point, this ($1613) is the current best price ;)
Yes. Best price for now. Very tempt to get 75 inch.
Good price comparative to other sellers, but the 2017 models are coming out soon, which only means prior year models are going to be more discounted soon
Cool! Do you have any further info on the new models?
Thanks for the link. Will be interesting to see if we get the entire range locally, and what the equivalent AUS$ pricing will be.
It's 15% off (most) TVs at JB this weekend. I'm looking into getting a 4K Hisense. One of those sub-$1000 ones.
Well - feel free to pass on the details here when you do.
Not sure if there's already a post here, but here you go: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/deals/tv-home-entertainment/prices…
Hisense K3110PW 55" Full HD Smart LED LCD TV - $798
Hisense K3300UW 55" 4K UHD Smart LED LCD TV - $848These are the 2 I'm looking at. I'd probably go with the second one, but I'd have to take a look at them in person. I've learnt my lesson. Never ever buy a TV online without checking it out in person first.
this one outside your budget?
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…@Zanadar: Oooh… that's pushing it. Just bought a PS4 (which is why I'm buying a 4K TV), but there's also the $300 speeding ticket. Not that I was speeding on purpose. Those dynamic speeding signs caught me off guard. Was going at the speed I normally go at.
TL;DR version… $250 more is probably a little more than I'd like to spend right about now. Unless I take a look and there's a massive difference in quality, I'll get the cheaper one.
Presumably a PS4 Pro as you mention 4K? In that case to make the most of the HDR capability you might to consider the Hisense 7 Series (HDR) over the 3 Series (no HDR).
@Jad:
3 Series has HDR with firmware update… Check the thread on whirlpool
Thanks for the info, good to know. Makes flaminglemons decision a bit easier hopefully!
@Jad: <heavy breathing> Thanks @Jad and @Megahowler. Yes, it's a PS4 Pro, and yes, I would probably need a 4K, HDR TV. Hisense seem to be the most affordable, but with any brand, you get what you pay for.
15% off TVs is a perfect reason to go and get one this weekend.
@Zanadar: I've been doing a little more reading… does HDR in the name effectively mean it's a 10-bit panel?
EDIT: this has already been answered in the comments below. Sorry for not reading further.
@Jad: So… am I getting this right? The 7 series has HDR… meaning it has a 10-bit panel… meaning it's compatible with the PS4 Pro's HDR output… meaning colours will look better than a regular 4K TV…
EDIT: this has already been answered in the comments below. Sorry for not reading further.
Deciding between this and the cheaper K3300. Can anyone help with some comments on the differences? Is it worth spending the extra cash?
Guys i cant stress this enough if you can afford a M7000 series over a K3300 do it. The Difference is quite dramatic. The K3300 is a very basic 4k tv. The M7000's implement a lot of strong 4k technology. 10bit panel vs 8bit. Also uses similar tech to the Samsung's for Blacks where as the K3300 does nothing. Faster UI just a much much better tv. Input lag is better.
While I agree the 7000 series is a better TV the K3300 is actually a 10bit panel..
From whirlpool again.Hey guys, some info regarding the panels…
40: Samsung (Direct-lit/10bit/50hz/300 nits/4000:1)
50: AU Optronics (Direct-lit/10bit/50hz/330 nits/4000:1)
55: AU Optronics (Direct-lit/10bit/50hz/370 nits/1200:1)What's with the 40, 50 and 55? Screen sizes? Because the 55" M7000 is edge-lit, and not direct-lit, according to the JB page.
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…
These are the panels in the 3300 series
@Megahowler: Ah. Sorry. Missed that bit. So the K3300's are direct-lit, while the M7000's are edge lit. I hate light bleed, so should I get the K3300?
In what way is the M7000 better than the K3300?
Was looking at the 50" K3300 but the 50" M7000 and only $170 more. Sounds like it is worth the upgrade. The 55" K3300 is the same price as the 50" M7000 so sacrifice size for quality. Thanks for your information.

Yea, got one for 1655 delivered
It took some legwork, but I picked one up for $1475 from JB Hifi.
I had some of their gift cards to offload too, bonus.Nice. Did you haggle the price down? I had no luck
There was mention in a previous deal where someone had scored this for 1475. I tried it on a few stores without any luck but JB came through in the end.
it was 1500+ in Ozbargain
