  • Better than nothing I guess, though I'm still grumpy with them about that whole facebook $20 voucher fiasco last time.

  • hmmm….$5 rise in postage costs for the next couple of days I assume….

I was tempted by their MSI Wind U130 Netbook….til I found the postage was $49!!!
presumably delivered wrapped in fine gold leaf.
Even a micro sd card (envelope, address sticker, stamp) is $6….(until they go on 'special', then it goes up to $9.99)

  • shipping cost kills shoppingsquare

  • Yes, I agree. Shopping Square shipping cost is truly ridiculous, no doubt about it. I guess there is where they get part of their profit, and it is quite a massive profit, juddging by how much their shipping charge for every item they sell.
Their shipping charge is always the thing that discourage me buying from them…

  • +1

But before purchasing something online, don't we view the price as a whole (item price + shipping) to decide whether to purchase it or not? It's just like buying on eBay. A $1 item with $20 shipping is still a better bargain compared to another item which costs $17 with $7 shipping.

    • You're right of course…….I suppose it's to do with perceptions….
We all know that a micro card, for example, does not cost $9.99 to post.
What we don't often know is the wholesale price of a product…..So, (most of the time), we wouldn't really know what profit is being made on an item…..however, we would have a good idea what profit is being made on postage. Using shipping costs as an income stream seems somehow less honest.
The words 'free shipping' 'shipping included', etc, carry a lot of weight, sometimes irrespective of the item cost.

  • Darn.. missed it..
    Strange I missed this post!
