  • We purchased one of these at full price. It's pretty good, especially at that price.

    • Will it fit mtb wheels?

I bought an ebay one and it wouldnt take tyres wider than 2 inches :(

      • Gotta get one that takes more than 2 inches..

      • Yes we have our 2 ALDI MTB's stored on ours.
I also put a Maxis High roller on the front of my bike and it fits fine.

  • Nice find

  • +3

Even at full price of $7 this is ridiculously cheap.

    • I don't think these were $7 - where did you get that from?

      • +5

The "was" price on the tag in the photo says $7. Maybe they display the previous price it was reduced to, rather than the original price. Just a guess.

        • +1

          Yeah that's right

        • The "was" price on the tag in the photo says $7

I didn't see that on my phone, didn't zoom in that far. Where's the Ozbargain deal on prescription glasses when I need some?

I'd say that these are pretty old stock and have been reduced a number of times previously. I agree with bargin193232222, that the "from" price will be the most recent markdown, not the original price (as would be logical).

        • Yes that's the rules

  • -2

    …vic?

    • Do you live there? Then you tell us.

      • lol…im barely awake let alone ready to go chasing bargains :P

        • +36

          You shame the Ozbargain fraternity.

        • +3

Go check the store in Foot-es-cray.

        • @OZB Al: No, it's pronounced "(profanity), where'd the donut guy go?"

      • the answer is no.

  • +3

    I don't know if I need one…but I certainly wants one…
    Kmart trip it is!

  • I do need one. Leave it alone, its mine.

  • +3

How many was in stock? this may end up being like the officeworks clearance items, mostly unobtainium

    • It looks like there is a pile underneath, so perhaps at least 10.

  • +1

I just picked one up. Thanks OP.

IT is 3 bikes on either side (as per pic).

There were 2 left after I took one.

  • +1

but i'm in qld and need one :(

    • Then you should drop into a QLD Kmart, and buy one!

    • probably only nsw jason…or even just the bondi store

      • +1

local store didn't even have the item :(

        • yeh mine either….and ive never seen workstands or anything even half decent/useful in the bike section at my local.

        • Same, none of the stores in Canberra even had a listing of this item.

  • +16

Thanks. Bargain factor is strong with this one.

    Now I need 6 bikes.

  • +1

No bikes here so I need to think of an alternative use.

    • +6

An empty bike rack is a terrific start to a n+1 project

      • Great. What is that? Google doesn't seem to know.

        • +10

n=bikes currently owned, most cyclists find they need n + 1

        • @rogdog: No tandems here either. Not even a tricycle.

        • +2

          @rogdog: you forgot s-1

        • +2

          See Rule #12.

      • +27

I dunno about N + 1, but I know that these devices can be used as bait to catch them.

Simply place the rack in a public place, preferably near a train station or school.

The bikes will come, like moths to a flame.

        • +2

Then remove your property with anything someone locked onto it. I like it.

        • +2

Nicer catches where the MAMIL flocks together e.g. beachside coffee shops

    • +3

      Here you go - SOLVED

      • I may need 3 for my own collection.

      • +1

you could legitimately take the rack. The sign pointed and said it was free

        • +2

Yes you could, but then all the guitars would fall over

        • Some people just don't care about music.

  • +6

This will be nationwide OP, the yellow tickets represent nationwide clearance, I'm not at work today unfortunately so I won't be able to check stock levels.

From memory these were about $20 on release.

    • Nice tip on yellow tickets - will help with posting bargains here

    • @doweyy I could not even find a full price one at KMART online.
Will you be able to check and update tomorrow?

    • Were originally $39, then first clearance would have been $19. Very few units left in stores, pretty much what is left in this store.

  • +1

Nothing on Gold Coast Kmart stores

  • +1

Cash converters to get me a bike

    • +5

Just steal one, cut out the middle man!

      • Just steal from cash converters, you're not only cut out the middle man, you take something from him too!

        • He meant bikes sold there are stolen bikes anyway

    • Might as well get one from the parking lot

  • nothing at casula kmart

  • +5

    It is a great bargain.

Just a small warning though for people who got bikes with disc brakes. These stands can damage the discs if you push the wheel through the rail then if the disc hit the metal frame

  • Bargain

  • +1

What else could these conceivably be used for (in addition to their main function)? Plenty of people who don't have bikes.
    Cheap clothes hanger?
    Get creative guys.

    • +10

      Torture and bondage rack.

      Kitchen bench organiser.

      3-in-1 Pilates rack.

      The list is endless.

    • +3

Would be cheaper to replace your fence with few of these I guess :)

      • +2

Then you'd need to get a few "No Parking" signs or go without and keep collecting whatever fly falls in its trap.

        • +1

hahaha.. see, two thing, you get free bikes as well :D

    • +1

from the photo - some enhanced version of cricket - with multiple stumps in play.

      • triple batter cricket!

    • +1

Eneloop display rack for the pool room.

    • +1

I use one as a rack for my 18 Lenovo laptops.

  • +1

You got a bike rack you got a gym?

  • -7

    NODEAL

I got almost the exact same one at Big W MacArthur Brisbane for $1 a year ago.

    • +7

And you didn't post the deal for us?

      • -1

some friends and I bought them all
Some bicycle work stands for $1 also..
        and some $1 Xmas trees.
Never know what bargains you might find strolling around BigW and K-mart.

  • +2

Dish washing rack - thanks OP

    • +7

To dry the plates and bowls for the elephants?

      • he's hungry. didn't want to go back for seconds

  • None in Bateau Bay store. I asked and they said it was a special buy item and not part of regular stock. Such a shame as this would help tidy my garage up. I'll try Gumtree

  • I called up Kmart in QLD, to see what stock availability was like
I can confirm that there is no stock anywhere in QLD.
I was advised they have just done a stock take Australia wide and this is an item They no longer stock, hence the clearance price.

  • Think its nationwide
I got the bike hanger for $1.50 (pulls up when cieling mount on awning)
And bike rack stand for $6 (to hang n fix bike)

  • +1

No stock Baldivis WA. Can anyone confirm any WA stock? Thanks.

    • I'd also like to know if anywhere in WA has stock

  • vic, parkmore - NO STOCK. no workstands or anything else useful either…

  • +1

Went to my local, Vic Burwood East. None there. They did have wall mounted racks that hold 2 bikes for $10, unmarked. I assume they were reduced, but there was no tag so cant be sure.

    • saw that at my local too. not that great a deal….similar stuff at bunnings all around 10-20. not very functional either

  • None at Southgate.

  • Realistically how long would a cheap bike rack like this last outside under an awning?

  • +2

There's at least 2 left over at Toowong, QLD. Says there is 5 on the system but I didn't go for a good look. When you walk into the store, ask a team member to check the gallery level in the stockroom and they'll get it for you.

  • i don't have a bike, in for 1.
