    • Apple gave a free phone case for iphone4 many years ago

      • U have to buy a iPhone 4 to get the case free :p

        • Tell me any brand that I will get a free phone if I buy a case.

To "fix" their dodge antenna, rather than do a proper recall.

        • You mean samsung? Or rubbish brand like Huawei?good for u

        • @scratchback:

At least they owned their mistake (eventually). Compared to Apple who told everyone they were 'holding it wrong'.

          2) Are you 12?

        • @PainToad:
Sense?r u talking to me or yourself?

Just because you support one side over the other doesn't make it "bullying" from the other side.

Or stick them to the front windows of the banks that refuse to accept ApplePay :-)

    • -4

Any bank that stands up to Apple's bullying is fine by me.

      • +3

What bullying? It's a dispute between different businesses. Both parties want different things out of the agreement while consumers are stuck in the middle.

        • +5

          No.

The whole point of NFC is it's an open standard. But in typical Apple fashion they came up with a proprietary version where they could force/bully others into accepting their rules and fees…yet again abusing their dominance in the market.

Meanwhile Apple consumers once again are left with a device they have no control over.

        • @PainToad:

Mate it's not NFC. It's NFC technology using a proprietary system (iOS). Apple don't have to give in to anyone and you know what… they won't give in to this.

          Exactly what I said.

Apple don't have to give in to anyone

          And neither do the banks.

@PainToad: What rubbish, Apple uses standard NFC, it's the banks who refuse to allow their terminals to process Apple pay because they don't want Apple to get a cut of the profit. You don't see Commbank, Westpac or NAB taking Android pay or Samsung pay either.

          @NoRotation:

Perhaps you should hit a refresh button in your browser, your information about banks is about a year old.
They ALL support Android pay now.

        • @PainToad:

          And neither do the banks.

Correct. BUT the people will vote with their wallets… somewhere else.

        • @NoRotation: Terminals do accept Apple Pay, however with the banks you mentioned you can not add their bank card on to an Apple Wallet (Phone).

        • @PainToad: Just because you support one side over the other doesn't make it "bullying" from the other side.

Apple says these are our terms for Apple Pay, these are the fees. Banks can negotiate on those fees but they don't have to accept them.

Conversely, the banks want Apple to open up the NFC chip that it uses for Apple Pay to third party applications.

Depending on which side of the fence you sit, you could say either side is bullying the other, but that's only because of your own bias.

  • Good goyims!

Cut them into 2 and put the word 'Pay' at front…..

    • Perfect, don't think they find disliking the status quo agreeable, bet they don't like Trump as well.

Limited to one order per business.

Thanks, ordered one for every CBA, NAB and Westpac in a 10km radius of me.

EDIT: Time to troll the big 3 on Twitter again!
