<bows to your superior searching skills>

        • @supabrudda: indeed powerful he is…

  • Any way to determine if it's compatible with your remote control? The frequency seems to be right, but I searched for the encoding chip and my current remote/garage door, and got nothing.

    • I was unsure too, but I thought for under $3.50 i'd give it a go

    • last time I bought a few from ebay, but emailed the seller asking if it's compatiable with my door, that way I was covered if it didn't work.

But they are pretty stock standard. You push a button (or two) on your garage door controller (to start transmitting a connect code) and them you hold down a button on your remote & it picks up the controller & connects. Sort of like how WPS works for wifi.

Like @Olliethechum says, it's <$3.50, so no biggie if it doesn't

      • You'd think they're standard, but I have one B&D CADR and one Merlin and from what I've found, you don't seem to be able to get a single remote that will control them both.

    • This didnt come up before when I did a quick look, but will change the listing. Good sleuthing skills there!

      • Aliexpress searching is a mongrel.

          my top tip-

          (1) search for the item you like
          (2) sort price low to high
          (3) open the 3 cheapest (they will not be the cheapest)
          (4) scroll down the page until you get to "from other sellers" and find the cheaper items there and open them in a new tab.
          (5) scroll down the page until you get to "from other sellers" and find the cheapest items there and open them in a new tab.

see if any of the options also have seller coupons to make them the cheapest

          @altomic: Professional comment.

  • Just note, that standard 433mhz is different to 433mhz rolling code.

    • Which one is this one compatible with?

      • It says 433mhz above, I don't know otherwise

      • +1

90% of the ones you see on eBay and aliexpress are non rolling code ones. If instructions tells you to point your remote to the new one to copy then it's a non rolling code one. Rolling code remotes require pairing with your base unit

…And if your garage door isn't rolling code it's dodgy!

  • anyone know if it is compatable with garage door remote ATA PTX-4?

  • Hi, any one know any ebay one other than the genuine PTX4 that can COPY code? I got some from ebay few years ago, and they can copy via at the pin in the hole, 2 sec press, 2 sec wait, 2 sec press way. I dont like the genuine one cos they look ugly.
But I bought 2 from ebay recently and they can only be reprogram via accessing the door motor. :(
