    • No, it is different.

Delivery at officeworks is not free either.
They charge a handling fee which you need to pay for if you have the item delivered

  • yeap def cheaper elsewhere:P

    • Not according to statice ice.
      Cheapest is $239

  • is there any way I can edit my original comment - dont think it is fair to the actual post - this seems to be a good price now that I am looking up the "correct" model number…

  • City software has free delivery if you order over $200.

It might be worth adding a memory card or something cheap to get free delivery as you should e able to find something else to buy which will cost the same or less than the delivery fee making the second thing you buy free.

    • their delivery costs are pretty low any way - was only 12 bucks to subarban melbourne for me…

      • I just noticed that delivery is free if the item is under 2kg so it wont apply here anyway.
You replied while i was editing my reply so i cant edit it now

        • Damn! Over in WA here - delivery $25 : (

All orders over $200 and less than 5kg are delivered anywhere in Australia by courier with no freight charge.

          This printer weighs 14kg anyway…

          • @jv: But this thing weighs 14kg's right?

  • my mistake, since i can't edit, ill vote up^^

  • $1 more and you get free postage !!! Almost worth a -ve vote for that… :P

Anything on sale there for a $1 ???

I was going to buy a modem from them the other day, but it was also $199… It was cheaper for me to get it from a bricks and mortar store if not for the postage…

  • Toner cartridges cost about $50-$100 each for this printer.

    Beware.

    • i thought toner refills are always at this price range?

    • Remember that the printer only ships with a 1000 page toner, the replacements are 1,500 page toners. (For black at least)

So while they may seem expensive they print much more than the included toners.

A 4 pack containing each colour can be purchased from $176 - Model CLT-P409C

  • Has anyone own one here to post how good/bad this printer is? From the reviews, it seems that cnet is bashing it.

    • It is small and cheap, i wouldn't expect photo quality colour prints.

For documents and graphics it should be fine to use.

    • I use one at work (a non wireless), for the occasional colour print it works fine (wouldn't touch it for more heavy duty - had another one that died after tried to do 100's of prints per day over a week).
I also use it for b&w printing more regularly - happy with it overall, though a hassle without the wireless so would happily pay more for this one.

  • I have one of these printers - bought it for $220 and then got $50 cashback, but that was back at Christmas time. I don't do too much printing, but when I do it is quick and fast. Re: pictures - it prints photos onto paper with high quality, but if you want to print onto photo paper and anything goes on it will void you warranty. I have not have to change the toner yet, and I would definitely pay the extra little bit to have the wireless setting, it makes it so much easier when using a laptop.

  • why does it void your warranty when printing to photo paper?

    • Hey truebargains, thanks for the question.

This is a laser printer which uses a fusing unit to bind the toner to the paper (perfect for quick prints, in an office enviroment). This unit is not suitable for photo printing, it lacks the dpi and colour scale to print off photo quality images.

Photo paper is covered with a thin layer of plastic film, to give off a glossy finish. Due to the Samsung CLP-315W Fuser unit inside, it gets very hot and will ultimately melt the photopaper inside the unit, thus voiding your warranty.

For a Photo printer, at a similar price see the:

      Hope this answers your question.
