  • Why you no band 28?!

Yeh, that's a shame with the majority of China brand phones, however it's not the end of the world.

The major telcos (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone) are also using 4G Bands 1,3,5,7,8 & 40.

Below is a useful link to the mobile bands that the major telcos are using

In the city it doesn't make much difference. But most of my work is traveling outside major cities and it does make a massive difference with coverage.

According to that website and http://willmyphonework.net/ Vodafone should be fine

    • you can get a Sony Xperia X Performance [F8132 Dual SIM 64GB] with band 28 at the ~$600 price point delivered

      • True, although both phones look to have pros and cons.

Below is a video review that compares both phones:

        • No doubt cpu speed would top the XP. But bear in mind this is a sale price of the 3T compared to regular price of the XP (has been $560 on sale).

Personally i prefer waterproofing and band 28 over the faster CPU.

        • @Smellysocks: The sony has a much smaller screen, less ram, slower cpu, LCD vs AMOLED, not as much dev support for device longevity.

        • @OnlinePred:
LCD vs OLED debate is much of a muchness as long as you can see it fine in the sun. 5" vs 5.5" is more of a personal preference on how large a device you prefer to lug around and CPU/RAM is pretty much covered in the review above.

now for dev support and longevity the battery will pretty much be shoddy by the 3rd year and you will be looking at a new device however the sony devices do have an open device project. hard to tell for the future however for example the original sony z (2013) still has dev support until now.

        • @Smellysocks: screen size alone man. Sony is 5 inch with on screen buttons so basically 4.7 usable. Op3t is 5.5 inch. Compare XDA forums right now for an idea. And 3B RAM vs 6gb does make a difference mate. Video comparisons of S7 vs op3t show just how much can stay in ram without reload

      • I think they might be pricing themselves out of the market they used to sell to

      • The reviews of the Sony Xperia X Performance are awful. Basically it's the worst top end phone from a big manufacturer in years. The OnePlus 3T on the other hand is T3 magazines phone of the year for 2016. There really is no comparison.

On another note, below is a useful Whirlpool thread regarding OnePlus 3T experiences in Australia if anyone is interested:

    • LOL, nice find. Well I'm sold :)

The phone is great. But if you use Telstra or Optus, don't buy this phone. It can't use 4G on these 2 network. Vodafone is perfect.

    • +1

      4G and 4G+ works fine on the Oneplus 3 & 3T.

      Just no band 28.

  • Those who have bought the phone (or planning to…)
Would you buy from geekbuying, banggood, dwi or eglobal? I read equally bad stories for all of them especially with warranties.
Or is it better to buy from oneplus HK and use a mail forwarder?

  • thanks

  • Wow, price has increased to $689.64 AUD now
