Nintendo Mini Restock - JB Hi-Fi Online $99 (+ Delivery)

1031

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment

Back in stock at JB Hifi Online.

I know $99 is not a 'bargain' as its RRP, but compared to the $250+ people are charging on ebay. Its a good price to get your hands on one.

Was full stock 20 mins ago. Now showing half stock

  • Sorry, Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Nintendo Entertainment System is no longer available and needs to be removed. WTF

    Welcome to ozStock

    • Beat me to it

  • $99 for an emulator? lol

  • Out of stock

  • There is no way these things are still selling privately for $200+. I was gifted one after purchasing another. My spare went on Gumtree and the highest anyone was willing to pay was $130.

    • They go for about $160 on ebay

      • +2

They're getting easier and easier to come by now, so the price will slowly decrease

    • Yeah well thats because you're on Gumtree. Then they meet up, claim they don't have all the cash with you and tell you all they have is $90.

    • +3

I sold a console and second controller I bought from last target deal within 5 minutes of posting on a Facebook buy and sell page for $180 it was picked up within two hours. this was like 3 days ago.

      • Sheesh money for jam.

    • They sell for $240 with an extra control and around the $160 mark just for the NES

I thought in the previous 9 threads it has been established that this isn't a 'bargain'???

    • +8

People appreciate these deals. Just let it be.

    • +3

the previous 9 threads we established it WAS a bargain, as seen by all the upvotes.

      • Just like all the upvotes for eBay or Sony sales with no actual bargains? Or AliExpress extra 3% cashback deal? (Don't get me wrong I love AliEX+CR lol)

        Sadly, upvotes aren't everything.

      • Down votes are a better indication of a bargain, not up votes.

    • +1

No, what was established is that there is no rule that says you can't post RRP and that if people want to be notified of hard to find items at RRP, they can.

  • Argh! Just missed out!
I had it in my cart and everything.

  • I might have to start a website stocklevels.com

    • Ahaha

  • +3

I think the fact that it sold out in about half an hour shows that it was a bargain.

    • +3

Or how many people miss their childhoods too much :P

    • +3

      Desirable? Sure. A bargain? No.

      • +1

$99 at JB, EB, or Big W etc at limited times or $130+ on eBay or gumtree anytime.
My idea of a bargain is something that for a short amount of time is cheaper then then normal available price.

  • wow, ebgames had theirs available for about 8 hours before it sold out. This sold out within 60 minutes. stock size must be very limited.

    • Or JB has a much better website that doesnt crash or timeout so often ;)

    • +1

Or, people would rather buy from JB than EB.

Thanks OP BTW. Finally managed to get one.

Bugger … I keep on missing out ! AARRGGGHHHH :(

I got one from back when EB had somehow had stock for hours on end. People are entitled to their opinion, and if you personally don't want to spend $100 on an emulator, fair enough. But it is a good product. It emulates very well, it's simple to use, it's a fun design, and it's an official product. There is a reason it's a sought after product and I think it goes beyond nostalgia too as I know some people who weren't even born when the N64 came out and they still got one and are having fun with it. I'm just glad Nintendo took their finger out and actually decided to come half way close to filling the demand for these. It was farcical how hard these were to come by upon release.

Do you really play the games or do you just wanna look cool with a retro console on your table?

I have a WiiU and downloaded a lot of a retro games on it, you can buy a retro controller … Doesn't it do the qame job? (And you can play newer games)

      • I've been putting some time into the thing. I love the oldschool platformers and Dr. Mario. Granted I'm not likely to boot up Excitebike or Bubble Bobble for any extended time, but Castlevania, Metroid, The Mario Games, Kirby, Ninja Gaiden, the Zeldas, I think I'll be chugging away at them for a long while yet. And to my knowledge it emulates slightly better than the Wii U too. Graphically it's less washed out which isn't a huge deal, but the kicker is definitely the difference in the input lag. I've heard Wii U VC has slight problems with it while any that the NES Mini might have is unnoticeable to me at least.

I mean, it's your hard earned money and you do whatever you want with it. I'm just curious about the benefit in a retro console as this one, I would buy an Original Nes if I wanted to have a retro gaming platform.

        • @Bubbleshark: an original nes with rbg mod is really expensive. The mod alone is more than this product.

Have the original but just can't justify the better video quality price.

The point is this thing outputs HDMI and people these days may cringe at the original RCA output

        • @supnigs: I actually prefer playing the old consoles over rca. I think of it as how it was meant to be and how I remember it looking. If I had the space I would be stocking up on old 68cm Sony and Panasonic CRT TVs.

      • WiiU costs a pretty penny more FYI

  • Makes a good trio with the retro atari and retro Sega re-release consoles

    • +1

Avoid the Sega ones. They are an abomination.

  • Nintendo are purposely pushing these out slowly just like they did the amiibos to create an artificial demand that they can control. People shouldnt pay more than retail for these if they are patient.

  • Anyone have a crystal ball to find out who will have stock next ?

    • Setup a search alert and you'll get notified as soon as someone OZB's it.

    • -2

I'll be having two in "stock" when they arrive lol

      • Thanks for rubbing it in.

        • You are not checking ozbargain often enough if you have missed all the deals for these posted lately.

    • Everytime I'm browsing the web I check a couple of sites to see if they have them seeing as no store are game to advertise them any more. I was lucky with it this tine though I was looking at Switch games and it popped up as something I may like!

  • +2

    Welcome to OzRRP.com.au.

    • +2

How unoriginal. It's not cheap but it's a deal. Like it or (profanity) lump it

  • +1

    (profanity) you Nintendo

  • Damn .. Everytime I look, one of these deals pop up and I miss out. By the time I get a chance to buy one of these..The SNES classic mini will be out.. and the circle begins.again.

  • +1

    I don't understand this console…
Other than nostalgia, anything nowadays could run all these games in an emulator, maybe even those Samsung fridges.

    • +1

It just looks cool. I would only play a few times and then ' straight to the pool room ' for display.

      • Then you should be gunning for an original NES if it's just for looks. Go proper or go home! :)

  • +1

This is what really bothers me. Nintendo decide to severely limit the supply of these consoles to give the image that this console is something that everybody is rushing out and buying, When in reality these stores are only given a tiny supply creating a massive market for price gouging. Nintendo can be extremely scummy sometimes.

  • Just curious people actually buying this coz they love the unit or want it for resale?

    • -2

Received mine delivered from Target yesterday.
Played all 30 games last night, now hoping Target will let me return it for a change of mind refund :-)

      • +1

You do know you can hack it and put 600+ games on it right? That's the main appeal right now.
Edit: If you don't want it anymore, I'll buy it off you.

        • Yes I'm aware of that but the novelty factor wore off too fast for me and I'm not keen on loading hundreds of illegal games on it. Decided to gift it to a friend instead of returning.

  • For those still waiting to get one and who might be expecting it (I wasn't aware it would be missing), our aussie version misses out on the retro poster.
