Nintendo Mini Restock - JB Hi-Fi Online $99 (+ Delivery)

1031

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment

Back in stock at JB Hifi Online.

I know $99 is not a 'bargain' as its RRP, but compared to the $250+ people are charging on ebay. Its a good price to get your hands on one.

          @Ronniefromdashore:

Yeah I agree. I mean why would people discuss and vote on bargains on a forum dedicated to bargain hunting. Kids these days are craycray

What next people talking about sports on a sports forum?

          What a sad existence

@x853: thanks for agreeing this should be in the forum

RRP isn't a bargain - "deal" belongs in the forum

  • Cheers bruh.
Just bought one with an extra controller. Too easy

    • where did you get the extra controller from? is it the official one?

      • Got it from JB aswell, Official one

    • Mate don't tell me you paid RRP for that controller or else I'm about to lose it mate

      • His not a true ozbargainer, so probably paid rrp

        • +3

          He's

      • Paid RRP.
Paying RRP doesn't mean I'm not a true ozbargainer? :S

        • -1

Please hand over your official OzBargain™ ID card and CashRewards subscription card as well as your Eneloops and MicroSD cards.
You are no longer a true OzBargainer.

        • All of a sudden paying RRP once in a while makes you a non ozbargain member. Makes a lot of sense.
I guess you'll be eating discounted Oz-bargained deals. Sick

Hey guys you can buy milk for $2 bucks at woolies. What a deal!!!

I should make a post about it so people can rush out and buy it at the RRP

    • Do it! I will log in just to give a negative vote to all the fanbois in that thread!

If $2 milk was sold out every time they packed the shelves with them, for a while the RRP on the milk would make it a good deal to be posted, definitely not a bargain but a good deal worthy of sharing with people looking for the much sort after $2 milk.

On this site there are Freebies, bargains, deals, forums to talk and a market place to trade goods.

If 150 houses were $500,000 in Sydney, and all were listed as $500,000 but 200 people wanted the houses, the people who bought it for $500,000 got a good deal.
That leaves 50 people who still want a house for $500,000 in Sydney.
Some kind person realises that the local realestate agent has 25 more houses exactly the same, for the same price. He posts it on Ozbargain and 25 happy people are now home owners. 25 would be left looking for that $500,000 house but only see the current owners willing to sell it for 1million, they don't care if they dont get a bargain, that just want the deal.

Do you know how hard farmers get squeezed on milk by large retailers? If woolies and Coles didn't squeeze the farmers we would all be paying double the price. The opportunity cost of screwing farmers is getting milk at half the market price.

50 percent off on a daily purchase that is consumed by most families is more of a deal than paying full price for a toy.

Would you pay more than 2bucks for milk? I would. Does that make it a deal?

If you have your opinion along with many others who are voting this deal up, and some of us hold a more traditional opinion on the matter.

You vote up. We vote down. What's the problem with that?

Let the community decide and they seem to side with you.

        • Do you know how hard farmers get squeezed on milk by large retailers?

It actually has very little to do with the supermarkets and is more to do with how much processors are prepared to pay per kilogram of milk solids.

          Have a read: https://www.choice.com.au/food-and-drink/dairy/milk/articles…

        • @Nomadesque: Interesting read - happy to admit I'm wrong on that count

        • No problem at all mate, just an opinion

  • +13

GUYS IT'S NOT A DEAL BECAUSE IT'S RRP!!!!

    rages and flips a chair

    • +23

Totally agree its RRP. However if it wasnt for the kindness of the OP posting it in the first place, i would have missed it and therefore missed out. I bought one, so i'm grateful. So thanks OP :)

Maybe the site needs a new section for 'low stock' or 'rare' items?
      Less chair flipping :D

      • +4

Haha I'm in agreement with what you're saying. I was just mocking all the people who easily get hurt because it's RRP

      • Realistically I can't see this being a rare item. Nintendo will keep pumping 'em out until demand has been met - a bit like the Wii.

    • And you are a mofo

    • GUYS IT'S NOT A DEAL BECAUSE IT'S RRP!!!

RRP is $99.95. $99.00 is not equal to $99.95.

  • +5

Every time I see this device for RRP and go to purchase it, it sells out.
It's a deal because it's out of stock fast most places and being found, even for RRP is rare.

A bargain it is not, but a deal it definitely is.

  • +2

Just curious.. would getting a RetroPie (~$100 depending on where you get it from) be better than this?

    • +2

Yes. But that's a flame war in itself… I purchased 1 of these anyway.

Should add you dont need to buy a retropie, just buy a raspberry pi and do it yourself!

    • +1

And if you're only interested in NES, you can buy an old raspberry Pi 1 or 2, as these handle NES perfectly anyway and they're cheaper.
If you want PSX, N64, Dreamcast, PSP, then you'll want a raspberry pi 3.

      • My Pi3 struggles with most n64 games.

        • I only play about 5 and they're all okay, some up-scaled to 1080p.
Have you tried overclocking? And do you have an adequate power supply?
Also; for n64, different games work better with different cores, I found a wiki with per game settings.
Actually, now that I think of it, Pokemon Stadium doesn't work for me :(

    • +2

      I have both.

The retroPie you can get for 60 bucks from element 14 (not including Sd card, Hdmi cable and Micro USB adapter) probably 80 with all that. If you have ps3 controllers you can connect them to the retropi otherwise yeah it will cost 100ish all up. (Most the stuff the packages have is cheap crap)

The retro Pie is more robust and you can play a lot more consoles and things.

The classic nes looks/feels more awesome and you wouldn't play nintendo stuff on the retro pi if you have this.

However really it doesn't feel 100% on the Pi while the nes certainly feels more authentic. The pi is a lot more mucking around though.

      • you be crazy

this Nintendo mini is just an overpriced money grab using a cheap arse Allwinner SoC that uses emulation

        • +1

What were you expecting them to throw in a FPGA just for the nes?

That cheap arse SoC has more than enough power for the nes and people are hacking it for the snes. The classic nes isn't a ripoff at all. The controller feels amazing and is probably the same mould as the original and the controls are extremely tight. For 100 bucks you get 30 games, a cool looking device and a rock solid controller granted with a really short cable :P.

If you want a better experience for the nes you would either need a FPGA or the original equipment.

        • You be crazy!

I'll take the Mini NES superior emulator and legit feels over a slapped together random pi setup any day.

      • I have the UK and PRC build raspberry pi…..Get one off aliexpress they are cheaper. And cashback.

      1. Go to element14, Pi3. 55 delivered. Add a case for a tenner, get some cheap heatsinks from ebay or an aluminium case off ebay with cooling fan inbuilt.
      2. get iBuffalo controller. 26$AUD from ebay.
      3. SD card
      4. Roms from everywhere ;-)
      5. Happy days and you can run a host of systems off sd cards.

I played my mates NES mini. was fun, but I'm not obsessed by the case or the branding.
Pi3 is a great piece of kit and much more expandable and customisable than the mini.
This whole nes mini shortage thing is BS. It's classic Nintendo bs.

  • +1

    Got 1 finally!

  • +1

Cheers mate picked one up, made my day.
Only got console and extentsion for controller. Should I have picked up another controller or any other accessories?

  • +1

Probably a silly question, but can you add more games other than the ones preloaded?

    • +1

      Yes, all of them! Google

      • Yeah but some don't work right as they haven't emulated all the chips.

    • Yes, YouTube is your friend on this one

  • Finally got one, thanks OP

    • to swap or sell?

      • Not this baby it's going straight to the pool room

  • +1

    Better add my 2c - it's RRP!!!

    • +3

and now it's 2¢ more than RRP

  • -5

    I know $99 is not a 'bargain'

Funny, I thought this was OzBargain.

    • +2

My exact thoughts when I read that sentence too.

  • +2

Next from JB HI-Fi is the Nintendo Classic GameBoy, with RRP $199 ?

  • It's all gone

  • Can't find the page for the controller but I have seen Target sell extra controls for roughly $20. If anyone needs any.

  • Sold out :(

  • +2

    Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's gone!

  • shame the official controller sold out already.. i have a NES classic, just want one more official controller without paying an arm and a leg on ebay :(

    • Yeah the controller sold out too. I was expecting it to sell out later.
      Bummer.

    • the cheap ones are so bad, would rather play on a dance mat

  • Will I still be able to sell this for double the price?

    • +1

Nope, because holiday season is over and people who really wanted them already got them.

Also, new stock are showing up more frequently now.

    • Not really. Nintendo announced they are getting it back into production, might take a little bit of time before they are more readily available though.
