This is my first post here. Just checked flights from Sydney to Hanoi (first time direct to Hanoi), Vietnam Airlines has promotion for 700 AUD for return tickets. I think its really good deal. Just want to share. I checked tickets on September and it works.

  can get similar flights for as low as $580 and numerous between $600-$700

    Yes you can find cheaper but its Air Asia, budget airlines :). This is like Qantas (national airlines)

      Yep - factor in a small luggage allowance each way and a meal and a drink and you will be well over $700.

  Flew this airline to Hanoi recently and economy was on par with budget. Meal was pretty miserable and cabin dated worse than budget. Staff were friendly though but I would never choose this airline over similarly priced but fresher budget competitors eg Jetstar.
