catch20

Best deal I've seen so far on these bad boys. RRP is $259 (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/platforms/gaming-he…)

Might Ape already had this on sale at $238, so combined with the ebay 'catch20' promo code this is a discount on top of a discount (discountception)

  • How much of a difference is there in terms of sound quality between this and the gold? (I know that this is compatible with VR)

    • Give this a watch, apparently a good comparison (i havent seen it due to not having nor wanting either headset)

    • If you use it with VR, it will be soft is what I've read.

They're good but they cost twice as much as gold. Not sure if it's twice as good.

      • I dont think they are twice as good. And VR right now is in its infancy, I didnt get it. Not many titles out for it that I like.

  • The PS gold wireless headset is pretty bad, not sure how it got such good reviews. Poor mic and sound quality, cheap plastic hinges and poor battery life. Not worth the $80 i paid for it. The Platinum looks like it's what the Gold should have been.

    • Sounds like you just had a bad experience with them.
I got golds after using them at a friends when gaming (He had 2 pairs)
      I love them so far.
Good sound on both ps4 and pc (Pc took a bit of setting changes)

  • Still deciding between these and beats by drey.

Need a upgrade from my ATH900X and Fostex TH-X00.

    • Get the plats if you're only going to be using it for console/pc.

Beats for if you want to use with your phone too.

    • Beats are crap dude. You're paying for the branding. But it's your money.

If you actually want good sound quality, I'd stay away from Beats

  • The drivers are 50mm compared to 40mm in the gold. Whether 20% larger is worth the 100% price premium is up to u
