          @flylin: worth the extra money for a decent machine if you'll be using it daily IMO. Unfortunately ultrabooks don't come cheap. The lenovo t series would have been perfect for you at$1000

      Don't have one but supposedly the screen viewing angles are pretty bad. People talk about having to adjust the screen frequently when browsing etc.

      lol negged as usual. but honestly, I know it's the poster's responsibility but the first thread was removed due to insufficient info or something. the dell thread stayed as there was sufficient info even though the code wasn't available yet. wouldn't it just be less clutter if it merged as one thread? what's to stop people from posting individual stores as separate threads? sometimes the posting of these threads seem a bit competitive imho. thanks nocure for posting the whole store list ofc.

        The deal, the votes, and the comments pertained to the Dell deal. Combining the deals are not practical and would set a precedent of mods and power users having to constantly update 1 deal. From this sale, you'll see individual items posted which the community can vote up if they believe its a deal.

        The first deal was 20% off but listed no stores. At a minimum, we require a store. 20% off at mostly unknown sellers received 115+/30- vs. this deal which already has 325+ votes.

        You are however right that there is some competition in posting first. It would be best if posters waited until they had all the information before posting.

        Also if you don't want to see eBay deals, you can hide them using the hide button underneath the description.

    Probably no real bargains to be had. Never is with these promotions as we all know the participants mark up prices. Ebay is doing themselves no favours with all these 'selected retailer' and targeted coupons. Same goes to all the stores in on this swindle. Bring back the site-wide discounts to ALL users!

      Depends on what you define as a bargain. Some people are happy paying the lowest current price while others may not be tempted until it's a good % off the cheapest current price. So these deals are good if you happen to need something that's included in one of the stores.

      Not so good if you're actively looking for cheap items of X category to jump on.

    can anyone recommend a good modem for adsl2+ ? moved to a new home that only has adsl2+ - and signed up with internode. all my life i've had cable and just a default modem, but i figured i might as well buy one seeing as i might be moving again in a year or so, and hoping that by buying a good modem i'll be able to achieve little to no dropouts good speeds etc (although i know it depends on many factors)

        Decent modem. $149 at Wirelss 1 on Ebay (where I bought mine 2 years ago), $140 with the 20% discount at Sydney Tech and Futu. 3 yr warranty.

        Not compatible with NBN FTTN I believe but the rollout is so pathetically slow (while Turnbull appointee Morrow rakes in his $3m+ annual salary package) it might be years before it's available in your area. Even then there may be other options depending on your net usage.

          I have the Global G12 and it's not lightweight like their other knives. My wife doesn't like using the cleaver, as it is a bit too heavy for her. I love using it to cut chicken.

      Use a KIWI brand cleaver (Cheap & does the job)
      If you're going to be using a cleaver to chop through bones, dont spend on a real expensive knife, it will chip the blade for sure.

    Shopping for a new TV this week to replace my 6 year old Sony - so I got all excited!

    But no TVs on the Sony or HN ebay sites - waste of time for me anyway.

    Did very well out of the Good Guys 20% off sale mid last year - an LG fridge down from $1800 to $1250, then a further 20% off.

    So I'll keep hoping!

          Did you try PayPal to pay. When I tried to click credit card instead of paypal it warned me that it would remove my voucher codes.
