Still good price I'd say.
You cannot get 4k monitors in any higher refresh rate.
Not yet.. ASUS PG27UQ later this year does 144hz 4K. http://www.anandtech.com/show/11014/asus-demonstrates-rog-sw…. But won't be cheap.
Yeah, $1500-2000 they say, so expect $3000AU. Damn that's crazy… though given you'd be looking at a dual 1080 (or maybe 1080Ti?) setup to power it the price is probably fitting.
@Alzori: 4k@144Hz you will be looking at a 1080Ti minimum, even that won't handle everything on ultra, you'll need to be turning things down. 1080Ti SLI would manage it. Oh how glorious it would look.
I recently upgraded and had to choose between 1440p@144hz or 4k@60Hz. Bought a gtx 1070 and a 1440p@144Hz monitor for now until 4k@144Hz gets much cheaper - That won't be for another 18 months and by that time, it will be time to upgrade the gfx card again ;)
@DrDollar:
which screen did you go for?
@DrDollar: 980 ti SLI here. SLI is still a joke. When games support it, it is awesome but the games that one card alone can't run are almost always the games that don't utilize two.
@tuzii: I ended up going for an Acer XB270HU about 6 months ago. 27" IPS @144Hz with g-sync. Can be OC'd to 165 Hz. It's an amazing screen. Colors are perfect, viewing angles are excellent. The 4ms response rate I was worried about at first vs a 1ms TN panel for gaming however the 3ms difference is completely negligible. So fluid, no lag at all. I'd highly recommend it.
@JigBew: Agreed, I avoid SLI - In addition to it's lack of support, you also add lag by 1 frame, by design and necessity. Not great for FPS games online.
@DrDollar:
price? and from where?
@superm86: MSY - I think it was around the $650 mark.
Oooooh…… 4K UHD resolution + HDR(which means we can now watch 4K UHD blurays in all its glory as intended??!) + 144Hz refresh rate + G-Sync(Not that I will use this anyways, but it's mentioned for those who do. :P)? Hell Yeah! Ohhh wait a second……27" only? ………… Not sure what 27" is like at original scale….. I've tried 32" 2160p before @ original scaling and everything looks readable…..looks to be best size for me anyways(though I haven't tried any other sized 2160p monitors)……any bigger than that and I will need to sit further back from the screen to see it….turning into a couch/console pleb…. :P
Yeah if 2160p, even a cheap TN one gets down to $300 a pop - that'll be a great deal! :D Could use one for web browsing(or any other viewing purposes that's not playing a game or watching a movie obviously…) purposes and have it in portrait mode so I don't need to scroll down as much to see more content…… ☺
EDIT: Hmmm, a new panel type - Direct LED (DLED)?
Basically any monitor you can get a bargain on will have imperfections such as low specs.
Basically you're completely wrong.
I'm still tempted ….. mostly used for office 2016, Visio, project, etc so sharper image over my current 28" 1920x1200 at this price is appealing, refresh isn't the issue, IPS would make it look nicer.
The LG 25UM58 monitor is showing $199. Is there a code I need to apply? Also need some advice. I do some work in MYOB and need an Excel spreadsheet open in conjunction at the same time. Would this solve my purpose or I am better off with a different monitor? I am not going to be using this monitor for gaming. Also I am going to hook it up with my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro (micro HDMI connection). Is this suitable. Many thanks in advance.
The site's getting hammered at the moment.
Bring back the 34" ultrawide deal!
34" ultrawide still shown as $799.
That's a good price. But not as good as it was.
Pitty the LG 25UM58-P doesn't have Freesync :(
Would the LG monitor be okay to play PS3/PS4? Kind of want easy access to my PC and console
Consoles don't support ultrawide so if you're fine with paying extra for black bars either side of the screen then yes it is okay.
Some 34 ultrawide ones stretch to fit the screen. The result isn't that bad.
Spending $800 for either a stretched image or a zoomed image? Why??? Why not just get a 16:9????
@BTRaynes:
1: because monitors are not only for gaming.
2: pointing out not all 34 screens have the bars you mentioned. Whether good or bad is irrelevant, it's up to users' discretion.
3: why? You'd better ask the users for answers, I'm not one of them.
The result is a warped image which is terribad.
@BTRaynes: It's only $189.
@sabracad:
My response was in reference to the 34" ultrawide comment.
I have this monitor hooked up with my ps4, it's just stretched to the sides. Better off getting 1920x1080p monitor if you want it to look normal and keep in mind its really short.
I just want a good deal on 1440p/144hz Gsync. There were several around Christmas time but I missed them.
I have this monitor… Mostly good except for 1 thing - the visible angle is quite small… the colours don't look nice at all when viewing from outside the 40 odd degrees (20 to either side of 90 degrees).
which one? the 28" or the 25"?
It'd be the 28", TN panels tend to have poorer viewing angles, but better response times for online competitive gaming. IPS, better angles and colour, better for video/photo editing and I prefer my single player games on them. Depends what you want to do, but I rarely sit at a different angle than front on with my TN. So depends on your workstation set up.
Yep, 28"… the left/right angle isn't an issue, but the up/down is, as my sitting position changes based on how tired I am, meaning I have to readjust tilt on the monitor to see properly. The stand is quite good, so adjusting it isn't an issue - the issue is that I have to do this tilt in the first place.
The price says $545 for me.
Starts Monday.
lol derp. Thanks for that. :D
ugly looking monitor, two toned. Nice deal though
oops, duplicate post.
Wasn't this was on sale about 1 month ago for $399 delivered?
Can we get a free shipping code?
There's an $11 online handling fee and I don't want to pay $35 to ship to Brisbane metro.
Thanks
🤑
The Samsung 28" LU28E85KRS is more expensive, it was $400 + delivery last time?
anyone know if this https://www.pccasegear.com/products/34522?gclid=CLKXgaP059EC…
4K AOC 28" Monitor from PC CASE GEAR is any better than the current monitor in this deal?
very curious to know which is better or if they are basically identical
(don't know much about monitors)
do monitors support HDR yet? (if not, any idea if its upcoming?)
Freesync 2 standard requires HDR capability, but no certified monitors available yet
25" ultra wide is such a stupid product. You buy it to get more screen real estate, but end up looking at everything through a letterbox slot.
Currently have a 27" 6 year old benq thats showing it's age… samsung seems to fit the bill to upgrade but have Nvidia card so freesync on the samsung not g-sync.. anyone running similar setup notice any pitfalls… would be looking at gaming 1440p and for watching 4k movies so UHD resolution is a requirement.. 450 seems a good price.
I'm gaming at 4k on this monitor (WoW + some older games like BL2/Skyrim/etc) with a GTX1070… Freesync/G-sync is only relevant if you have a bad graphics card - running at lower than 60fps. I am averaging 90+ fps, so freesync/gsync wouldn't do anything for me anyway.
Cool thanks for that.. I was thinking more so at the higher end of the scale with newer games where you fall in the 40-60 bracket … with 20% off sale you can pick up a 28" gsync asus $510 posted https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287922 with this one which seems have similar spec and vesa mounts with gsync included which I thought was a $150 addition to any monitor… only issue is the deal expires on the 13th this doesn't go live until then..could miss out on both if I'm not careful.
Would this 25 inch ultrawide be better than getting a 1080p 27inch monitor for coding and using 2 applications side by side?
60Hz TN panel with FreeSync.
