  • I bought my Koala King for $950 last week…

    • +1

120 free trial night - use it :)

      • If you do - let us know where the 'returns' go/get donated to!

  • Coupon doesn't work on the Single.

  • I'll probably bite. Anyone got any experience with this brand, or a similar foam mattress?

    • +1

I have a Koala mattress at the moment. Quite good, I like it a lot. Wait for $150 off OR find a referral code (I've got one for $50 off and I receive $50 too).

      Cheers

      • I can sleep on most mattresses but the only thing I'm worried about is heat dissipation. Care to comment on this ?

        • +1

It's heat dissipation is surprisingly good. Slept on it through 28deg nights (25deg w/evaporative cooler on) in Melb with a flat sheet and was very comfortable. With two of us in the bed the isolation of heat has been enjoyable

        • I need to return my Koala King because the heat dissipation is pretty bad for my wife, although I enjoy this mattress very much.

        • @ylbeethoven: That's unforunate. I never pulled the trigger on getting one of these mattresses. Let us know what the return process is like

  • Go on jump on it, I just did.

    • Did you buy?

      • +1

No, just a comical rebound into the ceiling fan.

  • +1

I couldn't purchase a bed without lying it on first. fair enough it has a 120 return but personal preference.

    • +1

Same. But then my girlfriend got one from eBay for $350 and I was surprised how great it instantly felt. Beats my more expensive (but older) one.

I still wouldn't take the gamble though.

      • what model was the eBay one please? Also tempted by the price….

        • +1

Some zzzatelier model. The one with memory foam padding.

    • couldn't purchase a bed without lying it on first.

Nobody can buy the correct mattress to suit themselves without lying on it.

There is no way that I would part with this much money on a "random hope" that it was the correct amount of support, the top cover had suitable ability to contour to my body shape, etc.

All the products from onebed, koala etc use similar foam bed technology right?

    • +2

not sure about the form technology but their websites are almost the same…

I always wonder if they were made by the same manufacturer with just different brand names.

  • I'm bummed I ordered last week with only 150$ discount. I'll probably return it eventually as I want to try out the other beds like koala but now I am concerned lazybed is going out of business !

  • Yes I bought t it I'm going to give it a give it a go. See if it has more cushion for the push'n. Free return post if I don't like it.

  • Even having a few displays set up around the country in bigger shopping centres would certainly make ways to put people's minds at ease. I'm not sure if they've done this already? That way you're not buying entirely sight unseen (felt, unfelt) is that a thing?

Yeah sure, you can return it, but then you're also out the $700 for probably a couple of months (have to wait 30 days and then up to 30 days to collect, and then they start processing refund), which I'm not then able to spend somewhere else for that time, and this company is presumably using it to generate interest in that time (fair enough, they're writing it off on tax as a donation, so they're losing shipping, which is probably factored into the price anyway). There are also a lot of conditions on that return policy, where I'm sure some people have run foul of and gotten into strife. I'd like to hear from those people.

Not to sound completely cynical, but I find it a little difficult to believe that so many people are so totally satisfied with their mattresses. Who've tried one and it's flat out sucked? I wonder if these companies will be around in ten/fifteen years?

I'm sort of more inclined to look at some of the box spring mattresses from IKEA.

Jeez I sound like a bloody grouch today. Sorry..

    • It mentions a 6 month interest free option on their website, at least that would address one of your issues.

Just checked with LazyBed support: Single Bed discount is $250 if you use code "ST250" for a total purchase price of $400 (normally $650)

    • updated the post

      • any deals on king single ?

  • what is "davina" foam?

  • Interesting! A couple of weeks ago, their retail price for QB was $800 - now it's $950 with a $350 discount. I suppose that's more of an attention grabber than $800 less $200.

Can anyone tell me is this mattress is firm or soft? I want one with a softer feel.

    • They increased there price last year in October

      • It does seem to fluctuate. It was definitely $800 recently because I checked all the "foam" brands against their websites and on January 18 I updated the wiki with the (then) current prices for OneBed, Lazybed and Greywing - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/mattresses

  • Just returned an Ergoflex, if this is anything similar, do NOT be fooled by the glowing reviews!
Memory foam mattresses "contour" to your shape, and sink in more than they should. Not good for people with bad backs.

  • I just played around with the coupon code for the single quoted by skeksies. It looks like there is a ST300 coupon which gives you a $300 discount on the single bed! Cost of the single is now $350 :)

  • I ordered and received it the same day. Personally, am not liking it. It has this chemical smell that wont let you sleep plus woke up with a sore back.

  • ST300 & ST250 no longer work.

  • Same deal - new code: MAR350
