  • Aren't they up to series 8 now ? How old is this model ?

    • The series 7 was announced around April 2010 and series 8 was announced shortly after that, so both are of current generation.

  • Series 8 UAC8000 I think it is is about $1k more as it has a metal finish and Local Dimming

46" is too small for 3D

    • its a $1000 difference in most stores, but i only paid $300 to upgrade from series 7 46" to Series 8 46".
      see comments below

  • may be if it was $2k, i would consider it lol

  • what about the 3d movie and blu ray player the other stores have

  • would be happy to find a great deal on a 32" Full HD "brand name" tv. Anyone?? Mr REP?

    • Sorry I can't help for now, the vendor doesn't have anything special on 32" at the moment. Maybe check JB's current catalogue? I saw another OZbargain post on JB's 15% off on top of already discounted price. Or use Shopbot see if you can find bargain on the older model (i.e. Samsung B series 32" LCD).

  • Great price, best i have seen.. Blu-ray player promotion has ended, so now only get the 2 battery operated glasses + Monster Vs Aliens 3D (which correct me if i am wrong, is useless without the 3D Bluray player $495 extra), which is probably why the price is slowly dropping RRP $3699, Myer have it on the front page of their catalogue for $3496 and JB Hifi is $3491. i would buy it if the promotion for the blu-ray player was still going, but for now i will continue to wait until Samsung put on another promotion.

    • blu ray promo is actually still going until end of month….it just depends on the store….some dont give you the blu ray but just sell it to you instead

    • The 3d Blu-ray player Pormo has Ended. the site is still up only for people that have paided for their tv before 30th of june and are still waiting for delivery from samsung, and yes some stores are giving away free palyers as part of the tv price or for a very discounted price from the $599 rrp of the 3d player

and Yes, the 3D movie is useless unless you have a pS3 and can wait 5 weeks until the 3D Movie Firmware Update gets released, although the Sony 3D Blu-ray player is only $289 in-store.

  • I wouldn't touch these 3D tvs, give it 1 year and the technology will be completely obsolete.

    • what 200hz led obselete in a year…..unlikely…..cheaper maybe but not obselete….dont forget the 3d feature is only 1 part of the tv

      • If you noticed, I mentioned "3D TV", that means I'm referring to "3D TVs". If something becomes unpopular it generally becomes removed as a feature for successors.

    • I'm sick of these people that think 3d is a gimmick because it's NOT!

I used to think it was until I tried a demo of the 50 inch plasma playing real 3d content.

It really does give an amazing depth to the content and would be great in games!

Also the next tech is OLED which is just thinner and higher contrast ratio. Frankly, I don't give a flying f about both as they are already thin enough and the contrast on current gen tv's are very good already.

      • -1

the next batch of screens should be OLED, if samsung can get it cheap enough over the next year. then we will see a screen that shits all over any plasma LCD or LED out today.

so it will be obselete, as such

OLED wont be available at stores for atleast 2yrs at a decent price, its $5000 for a 11" screen atm.
we will see 20-inch OLED panels later this year, 30-inch and 40-inch panels in 2011/2012.

though they will be very pricey.

Samsung are working on releasing a 40" OLED screen this time next year.

      • lol…it is…i would like to see how often would u frigging wear glasses and watch tv…this is watching tv at home…if you are one of those already wearing long sighted, short sighted, whatever glasses, its even not comfortable to add another glasses on.But i guess if you have a living room with COMPLETELY dark environment then i guess you should get 3D. Doesnt it mean you cant watch 3D during the day? LOOLLLL

        • i guess imax 3D and realD are gimmick to you too since they're also glassed-3D?

its not like the tv forces you to do what you dont want to do. for a new technology thats probably here to stay, they've done remarkably well in the first generation. the stereo-optic effect is almost as good as cinemas.

and no i dont have a 3D tv. i look forward to having one when the tech matures more.

      • I'm sick of people who only see in things in their view rather than seeing how the rest of the market views products. If you were a little bit less ignorant, you would know that there will soon be 3D TVs in the market that don't require glasses. Some people don't want to face the issue of having charged glasses, purchasing glasses for more than 2 people, wearing uncomfortable rubbish and also finding them when they are misplaced. The limited amount of titles that are 3D don't make the adoption rate any better either. Think logically and stop being ignorant. I personally love these TVs, but I'm not ignorant and see the negatives that would repel people into buying such gimmicks. Read a book.

  • Not really a Bargain…..You can bargain a much better price at a local store

I bought this TV 8 weeks ago for $2788 ($3050 including 5yr wty, 3x 2m 3D 1.4 hdmi cables + Digital Optical Cable, Monster vs aliens pack and free delivery)(and just received the 3d blu-ray player and 2x rechargeable glasses)

i then took everything back because it had very, very bad backlight bleeding, then i got the Series 8 46" For:
$3050 ($3389 including 5yr wty, 3x 2m 3D 1.4 hdmi cable + Digital Optical Cable, Monster vs aliens pack and free delivery)

all at the good guys, the local joyce mayne ticket price for UA46C7000 was $2799 - so u could easily now get it for $2500 cash

    • You sound sus……….you say you purchased this TV in one sentence….then in another you say ~ "the next batch of screens should be OLED, if samsung can get it cheap enough over the next year. then we will see a screen that shits all over any plasma LCD or LED out today.so it will be obselete, as such"…………………………….

Why didn't you listen to your own advice………, further more if true you got ripped on hdmi 1.4 cables thrown in worth $15 cost to store… 3D cable…lol believe the hype..

      • -1

firstly i did not get ripped on any cables. I got them all for free separately. I bought the tv and warranty only first, then i had many problems with finding stock/backlight bleeding issues. I went through 4 Tv's all up and was given those cables for free off the store owner, they were just amended to the original receipt. if i wanted anymore they were gunna be $19 each for 1.4, ticket price was $119

i will be selling my current tv and upgrading as i do every year, but if these oleds are released in 2011 i may wait for prices to drop n get one in 2012.

the equivalent OLED screen to my series 8 will be about $15000 next year, and i dont have that much to spend, so i will wait
