[STEAM] Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 40% off incl. DLC. Base Game USD$23.99, GoTY $29.99, Blood & Wine $11.99

720

A solid game with great story, graphics and never ending side quests.

The base game is now $23.99 USD
Game of the year edition is now $29.99 USD (this includes both expansions - highly recommend this if you don't already have the base game)
The expansion season pass (includes Heart of stone and Blood and wine expansions) is now $14.99 USD
Blood and wine by itself is now $11.99 USD
Heart of stone by itself is now $5.99 USD

The last expansion (Blood and wine) was only released last year in March and this is the cheapest I've seen the expansions go to since it was released. The deal is a "Daily Deal" so it ends in two days.

CDKeys has the Game of the Year pack for $36.86 which is $3 odd cheaper than Steam.

Cheaper to go with the GOG version. It is also DRM free. Note that the CD keys version is a GOG version.

I personally have it on Steam just for convenience sake. Ended up costing $5-$15 more for game+DLC. Both clients are fantastic. Only downside for GOG is either that you have to download a new client or the fact that they don't have cloud sync for saves.

GOG also doesnt have a bandwidth limiter so say bye bye to your internet while u download.

        • +3

Can't you use QoS or software throttling?

      • or the fact that they don't have cloud sync for saves.

        symlinks + dropbox etc.

Even have to do this for some Steam games …

      • The no cloud save thing really screwed me - I rebuilt my PC thinking all my saves were in the cloud. 135 hours of Witcher 3 gone. Haven't had the willpower to fire it up. I tried drive recovery software but the files were corrupt.

Pro-tip: Set up your own cloud storage for save game folders using your favourite service :-)

      • Its showing up as $47.49 AUD on GOG for the game of the year edition how is that cheaper than the steam version, i feel like im missing something

    LOVE THIS GAME!!!
the DLC feels like a whole new game not just a rip and repeat.
I also prefer games on steam for convenience, ie backup and restore etc

If you get this DEFINITELY get the GOTY edition, DLC is amazing!

I finally bought it today, thanks OP. Still reading the books, so I need to decide whether to start it now or read them all first. So excited for this game!

Try finishing them, there's a big reveal at the end of the series that is spoiled in the first few hours of the game.

      • Thanks a lot for that mate. I played the first two and feel like a few things from the books are already spoiled, but if there's a big reveal in TW3, I will try to hold off.

        Try.

  • Holy god this is a huge game. Im 130 hours in and haven't even got to the DLC stuff yet.

  • Excellent game. Gold standard developer. 100s of hours of magic

  • JB has the GOTY edition for $49. Good price for a brick and mortar store. I believe this is a steam version.

    • Nahh, all physical versions are gog. They have their own distribution platform so they wouldn't do that.

The only exception is when it comes to expansions where you can covert the gog keys to other platforms, in case your base version isn't gog.

This is the first and only game of it's type that I actually played every single mission and side quest. I'm planning a replay to finish the handful of missions I failed. I never finished Skyrim and got bored with Fallout 4 a few hours in. A solid must play title.

  • Note: GOG versions also on sale (although not quite as good prices)

    GOTY: $47.49 AUD
    Expansion pass: $21.59 AUD
    etc

Bought GOTY for $39.86 AUD. Thanks OP!

  • GOG Connect lets certain games you buy on Steam also be imported into your GOG library. The Witcher 1 and 2 are in there, with more games "coming soon", so if you want it in both libraries, you should buy the Steam version and then hopefully import it later. Please note: this is just informed speculation.

  • I couldn't really get into The Witcher 2, so I don't know why I somehow want to try this game.. still pretty hyped this long after its release says something though

Witcher 1 and 2 had enjoyable stories but didn't have the greatest gameplay.

Witcher 3 has it all, great gameplay, great story and no shit filling like the collect 100 flags in various spots to just unlock an achievement.

  • I couldn't get into this game…. I should love it but for some reason I can't get drawn in, could be the main character.

  • Coincidently CDKeys have the GOTY edition on sale as of this morning for $30.86, a saving of $10 on the Steam price.
Yesterday after reading this post I decided to take the plunge and make the purchase, that was until the Paypal payment stage where it said it was going to cost over $40.
Now, I know it's only $40, but at this stage I remembered I still have Watchdogs, Batman Arkham Knight, Crysis 3, and Far Cry Primal, to play so I couldn't consciously justify the expense. My thought was, by the time I'm ready to play it there's a chance it will have dropped again.
Fast fwd to this morning and now presented with this new price from CDKeys. It's amazing what a difference of $10 can do to your thinking, and I'm happy/sad to say I went with the CDKeys version.
Maybe the other games can be put back on the shelf for a little bit longer…..
