UK-Australia Return Ranging from $389 to $596 with Qantas and Emirates

1170

There seems to be some"very good" fares currently from various cities in the UK to Australia and NZ. This routing may not suit anyone but may suit those on cruises or friends family etc.

It's probably an error, so if you book I would wait further before booking the rest of a trip such as hotels etc.

  • No outbound from Australia.

      Australian "tax" at work.

      • +3

Yep the same tax that keeps Canberra alive….

      • I think you'll find UK departure taxes are as bad, if not worse

      No outbound from Australia.

What part of that isn't clear from his post?

      • Needs to say one way.. not return.

        • +6

No it doesn't. It is a return fare.

It's just potentially not applicable to many of us here, but we can pass it on to family/friends overseas.

        • @illumination:
UK - Australia Return implies that it is UK to Australia and return. One-way fares are one-way. Return fares are two-way.

        • @Rochie: I think we are on the same page..

This deal is for a return airfare originating in the UK, to Australia and return. You can call it two-way if you like but it certainly sounds like we have the same interpretation.

this can be one-way from UK for 111 pounds ;)

      • +8

Yeah, bondi needs a few more backpackers staying a bit longer than their visa allows…

  • +1

I can't see those prices. I'm on the UK website and its showing your prices as an each way price rather than return.

Even on your Aberdeen to Perth link its £552 return. So either it was a glitch that was quickly fixed or you were looking at each way.

      Still working https://goo.gl/R0uZn4

P.S. you can buy return UK-AU-UK ticket, and skip AUS-UK flights. but never skip the first flight because then ticket will be cancelled

    Howwwwwww

  • with these prices I imagine the physical effects of brexit become real…

  • Ok, I got you. The OP didn't mention that it's limited dates. There is extremely limited availability from Belfast to Sydney. You can't do more than two weeks otherwise the price changes and the earliest flight is the end of April.

Good if you're extremely flexible on dates.

  • too hard with the dates, very specific dates

    • No flight sales has no specific dates

A 43 hour flight from Edinburgh to Sydney would be a killer.

    • +7

But think of all the money you would save on accommodation

    • +1

I had a "quick" 37hr flight to Ed not long ago. Unsure where I was more suicidal or homicidal by then end, but nothing 15 beers can't fix

      • +1

        I did a 64 hour flight. With a 2 hour train transfer

I was close to going postal

        • F that. You must be mental strong haha. I would have gone Postal

  • Anyone found any Melbourne to somewhere in UK dates that are valid?

    Thanks

Numerous dates for each route are listed in the original post by Secret flying from this morning, which the OP copied some of his info from (but left out the specific dates): http://www.secretflying.com/posts/error-fare-uk-cities-austr…

  • ai must be too slow

    cheapest i see is 531GBP

    • Same. is this expired??

  • I've always wondered this: so the emirates flight will obviously stop in Dubai. If I stop and stay there would that affect me in any way? Am I allowed? And do the same for my return flight, I.e. catch the flight on the way back while transiting in Dubai?

    • +1

If it's during a stop-over (like on these tickets) you can definitely leave the airport, I've done it before, and they have a train from the airport. Then return for the next flight. No drama at all.

If you want to stay a few days, these tickets seem too restrictive, but in principle yes, it's common and easy (and indeed a great way to break up the long flight and see somewhere new)

    • +3

As far as I'm aware, if you're going Edinburgh-Syd and only do the first leg (jump off at Dubai), the rest of your flights will be cancelled. You wouldn't have a return flight to catch. You also won't have your luggage..

You just stole this from one of the various flight deal pages - you should at least give credit when you're going to copy and paste.

That's said - have you figured out how to search for differed dates for these prices, since Momondo is literally the sh1ttiest flight aggregator out there.

    • I actually like Momondo but if you think there are better ones out there then I would love to try them out. Are you able to name a couple?

      • Sure lastminute.com was mention on th post I have on hotukdeals

        • Thanks very much :)

  • +1

You should give credit to secret flying or someother site. i mean its not like you are getting referral $$$s and its obvious as day no one person was able to figure this out on their own…

  • Thank you for sharing this. It does seem to be from Secret Flying, but it helped me, so I'm happy. Booked family to visit, and have e-ticket numbers so touch wood they don't cancel the tickets.

  • secret flying stole it from hotukdeals guys, calm down

  • Skyscanner is my favourite flight comparison website. This one is good for comparing multiple dates though so I might use it in the future.

    what is the deal here

    ukbargain??

  • With these sorts of fares, you need to take the initial outbound flight in order to be able to get on to the returning flight. Otherwise the fare isn't "activated". At least that's what happened to us. :/

  • Its a price error that they still haven't fixed 2-3 days later.

    • Actually it seems to have expired now.
