1090

As expected SCA is doing a 20% off storewide tomorrow (Saturday 28 January 2017)

Not sure about the exclusions as this was advertised on TV (will update if they come up)

You can also get 10% off SCA gift cards via the entertainment book (takes 2 business days usually though)

  • Need new car battery, at work all day so can't drop by SuperCheap Auto :'(

Are you a Costco member? If so they will be way cheaper than SCA even after 20% off. They stock Exide batteries.

      • Ooh! I am indeed! Thanks for the heads up!

I tend to use Century batteries myself; how do Exide compare?

        • +3

I used to buy Century. Btw all Century batteries I bought, died in 2.5-3years. Now I use Supercharge battery, it is cheaper & last longer (40 months warranty).

        • @wiewie: Thanks! My current car battery (came with the car when I bought it brand new) has been in use for 4.5 years now but the dealer where I get my car serviced says it's slowly losing power. Will keep an eye out for Supercharge batteries! :)

Just replaced an Exide Endurance something or other (really low CCA rating) that was on its last legs, couple years old, with a Century ultra high performance battery (620cca, 36m wty, etc.), during the other SCA 20% sale this week.

Would recommend! It was going to be either the Century or a Supercharge Gold, but the sale won out.

          @wiewie:

Can confirm, I have a 7.5 year old supercharge battery that is still going strong!

I actually swapped it over when I bought a newer car, I took out the pissant crap battery it came with and put in my supercharge battery. Totally worth it :)

Exide first one died in 14months . i got new one for free.

        • @wiewie:

From where do you buy Supercharge battery?

        • @Peteroz: My Googling says that Autobarn has them

        • @Peteroz: l bought it from my local spare shop. The shop also sell Century battery 15-20% less than normal price at SCA. The supercharge still cheaper than the Century. You can check the dealer location here: http://www.supercharge.com.au/postcode.php

20% minimum discount. e.g. 30% off car washes!

  • Ah was wondering ehy there was no current catalogue.

My one experience with ordering a SCA gift card from the entertainment book, it took about an hour to arrive. That was during business hours though so your milage may vary.

    • With entertainment book someone at the company has to approve the issue of the gift card.
From previous experience I believe the cut off time is around 12 noon EST to receive them same day Monday to Saturday.

However, like anything always play it safe and order them early. They put 2 days in case there is an issue or delay with the gift card.

wow, Repco 30% off, Autobarn 20% off and Supercheap 20% off all on the same weekend lol

  • Any free shipping code?

    • They do free Click & Collect

      • What I want is not in stock in any nearby store

EDIT: nevermind, it was there yesterday at 10pm, but now when clicking it from the search list I get to a generic "unavailable" page. Will be interesting to see if product shows up again after sale…

    Thanks :)

Much of a muchness mate. I have the Karcher and it hasn't skipped a beat.
Both same warranty, both same size and pressure.

If you're going to be picky, the Karcher has an extra metre of hose length (5m vs 6m), and when you consider a car is about 4-5m in length, that extra 1m will get you around the corner and to do the front grill. Then walk back around past the machine to the other side and do the same… leaving the actual pressure unit where it is. 1m is 1m.

And the attachments for the Karcher are decent as well. I can't vouch for the Gerni- but again, probably made in same factory so similar ;).

      • +1

Actually if you're going to do the patio, might want to consider the Karcher with the splash free device thingy ($199). When you're blasting away at the patio, you'll make a bloody mess on the nearby windows and walls. With that circle attachment it keeps things under control. I myself don't have it and just make do, but no question any pressure cleaner can make a god awful mess of nearby surfaces by spraying mess all over the place. Easy to wash down later I guess, but no mess in the first place would save all that cleanup work later.

        • Just for some perspective when Aldi last had pressure washer accessories the broom looking type was I think 25 bucks and the round spinning type was about 40 or 50
