Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Voucher send to Joe888. No more sorry

  • +1

I have a voucher expiring at 10:30 AM for 36L. Send me a PM, if not tonight, I'll send it through at 8:30.

    Edit: sent

  • +1

Anyone struggling to lock in? I get an error stating "the fuel type you selected is not available near you current location"…

    • my friend just had this issue. But I locked in right now after hearing from him through NOX

    • +1

I am also getting the same error on NOX. Had anyone found any workarounds. Thanks.

    • sorry this is an old post, but did anyone find a fix for this?

      • +1

Try a different GPS spoofing app.

Or ignore the error and keep trying to initiate the search.

        • thanks for the suggestions bro :) got it to work

      • If this helps anyone else: removed app through play store on NOX and reinstalled. resigned in… Seemed to work. Could also try a complete Reinst. NOX eventually worked though

  • +1

My 7-11 apk is working with Fake GPS, no problems.

  • -2

Has anyone ever used the price-lock interstate? Lock-in inside QLD or VIC and use it in NSW?
Do you get banned? What happens to money on 7eleven app gift-card?

    • +1

We all do it, sorta the whole idea of using the fake GPS :) No ban…yet

You can pay at the counter via your loaded $$ on the app or by cash or card (I recommend cash or card so you dont have to keep topping up the loaded $$ onto the app)

      • -1

But don't you have to have sufficient credit in your 7/11 to lock in a price?

        • +1

          You do need.

        • Yes the app has to be loaded with sufficient credit (if you want to lock in $100 worth of fuel, you need $100 worth of app credit), but when you go to pay for fuel at counter tell them you want to you use your card or cash rather than loaded app money.

You'll have to fork out the loaded app money initially but you can use it any time you like (but as I said easier leaving it in the account so you don't have to keep loading money onto it).

  • Trying to lock in fuel using Nox on my computer.

It worked fine the first time, then tried another account and after I select how much fuel and press to lock in, nothing happens. I just see the browser kinda pulse ?

    • +1

It's 2 locks within 24 hrs per android ID.
Your NOX has one android ID.
Use multi-instance to get a second one.

  • Just locked into that $1.359/L price. Looking at petrol price trends, locking in at the $1.30s will probably be a rare event in the future. Most stations aren't going below $1.45/L here, even at the low point.

Damn I want the $1.10/L prices of 2016 back :(

    • $40 a barrel of oil back then…now $105 a barrel.

Add fuel duty, retailer margin and 10% GST and the 23% increase in retail price doesn't look so bad.

It was $125 a barrel in 2013 so we could still go even higher….or lower. Oil markets are volatile.

      • +3

Add in a weakening AUD that just hit 72 cents to the USD and potential regulatory change to address the massive amount of sulfur in Australian fuel standards and $2 will be the norm if oil prices go back to their previous highs.

  • Anyone having trouble logging in or is it just me?

    • +2

      Looks like you only

      • Cheers fixed it now.

  • -4

Anyone have any spare vouchers that is below 155/l for Special unleaded? Please PM me

    • +1

E10 or U91 for Special unleaded?
      E10 137.4
      U91 139.4
Can lock for you immediately. PM if youneed it.

    • +5

Just lock it in yourself. Special Unleaded (U91) is 139.4 at Sinnamon Park QLD.

    • +9

I'd be more than happy to lock it in for you, mate. Just send me your account username and password and I'll lock in the cheapest fuel I could get.

  • -3

I'm having troubles with the modified 7/11. It keeps saying that it can't locate my location

    • What have you done to get it to show that? What steps have you followed?

      • Mine is working fine on 5 of the phones I have set it up on for.

      • Mate, tbh not sure. I have a oneplus 3 which was recently updated, other than nothing else. Haven't updated gps hack and using the modified apk from here.

Not sure what's up with the negs. :(

        • +1

Have you tried to turn it off and on again?
Also update fakegps free if you have it, one of my phones needed to update that.

  • +1

My local station is $1.69 for unleaded never seen it that high !

    • Yup. The last 'high' hit $1.629/L and at the time I thought that was crazy now the peak is 7c higher.

      • My Tesla can't come quick enough :(

        • what'd you buy?

          • @blehgg: Deleted…. was meant to reply to Gomo.

          • @blehgg: Haven't yet… still thinking and thinking.. I Currently drive a Holden Cruze 2014 1.4T which I've owned since new, sitting on 224,000km I'll avg around 40,000 ~ 50,000km per year need it to hold on until more options come available

        • @ Gomo: Even with fuel at $2 a litre it would take many, many years to make up the cost premium you are paying for a Tesla electric vehicle vs a similarly specced petrol/diesel vehicle. And you have to live with range anxiety every time you want to go away for the weekend.

          • +1

@billy_bob: @Billy_Bob I drive Uber full time, my petrol use for a week is roughly $230 a week, roughly $10,000+ per year in my world.

I'm interested in Model 3 Which still has no confirmed pricing, if it's $55k that will work with me, long term investment before a positive return lots of pro's & con's too especially range and charging stations.. lots to think about.. My thoughts is over the next year or two we will see more EV Cars on the road even cheaper than $50k

            • @Gomo: Worth doing uber full time? Doesn't it work out less than $20 per hour. Plus the cost of wear and tear on vehicle.

Refuelling an empty petrol car takes 10 minutes. Recharging an electric car takes 1.25 hours from empty to full. Now is the trade off worth it? Could picked up 1-3 more rides.

              • @Sweetnsour: If I had an electric car you'd set times you go offline to charge it and have lunch 😉 all about planning! In terms of $$ it's all over the place and everyone's earnings are different!

              • +4

@Sweetnsour: @Sweetnsour + @Gomo, Recharging on the original 85 kWh Tesla Model S takes 75 minutes (1.25hrs) to 100%, but that is only at one of the Tesla Supercharging stations that are scattered across the country. Recharging at home will take 9-10 hours.

                Also, I did the sums:

Cost of fuel to run a Ford Mondeo diesel for 50,000 kms per year = $4240 (based on 5.3 L/100km, and diesel at $1.60/L).

Cost of electricity to run a Tesla model 3 for 50,000 kms per year = $2,142 (based on 30c/kWh, range of 350km from 50kWh battery).

Mondeo diesel can be bought for ~$35,000 while Tesla Model 3 will cost at least $60,000 in Australia. So it will take at least 12 years to make up the difference. Also factor in that Mondeo will maintain the same fuel economy throughout it's life whereas the Tesla battery will degrade after 2-3 years and get much reduced range per charge (and therefore cost per km will also increase over time.

Please don't take my comments as bashing on electric cars because I agree they are the way of the future, but right now they still don't make much economic sense for most people.

                • @billy_bob: Tesla claim to have lifetime warranty on the battery should anything happen, your still right tho in terms of long term and upfront costs

Even hybrids might come out cheaper which will again change the market

        • But u also gotta factor in maintenance costs. My concern with Tesla is that you need to return to Tesla for servicing and parts. That may mean they have a monopoly on the pricing for parts. Small players won't necessary have access to the equipment.

I still want one though. No more bloody oil changes. However I'm gonna miss the noise of the petrol engine.

          • +4

            @Sweetnsour:

However I'm gonna miss the noise of the petrol engine.

Im sure you can install an app for that.

          • +1

@Sweetnsour: I can confirm a Telsa Model S Will set you back $900 roughly every 20,000km for servicing, lots of thinking because how much would you have spent to drive 20,000km on a petrol car ?

  • Does anyone have a voucher for U91 that they aren't going to use? I've been topping up 10L to try and get me through for when prices dip to a reasonable number but I need to do a big trip tomorrow. Thank you

    • $1.399 at Jimboomba, Brisbane. Will probably go up tomorrow. Lock it in while you can.

      • why do you think it'll go up?

        • +3
        • Because almost every other station in Brisbane has.

And its gone up to $1.69 too.

          • @ol mate: Back to $1.399 at Jimboomba now. Current cheapest price Australia-wide.

            • +1

@donga100: Woolies 4c voucher + e-gift payment works out better at these prices

              • +1

@RRtm: I always consider that but where I live the three closest Woolies and Coles servos are at $1.69

      • You were right.. glad i listened

  • My NOX (mac) keeps crashing on start up :( it gets to 99% on the loading bar then a window comes up saying "System fail to start click here for solution.". Anyone had a similar issue..? :( the page it links to doesn't help.

    • Do you use any kind of VM on your mac?

    • +3

SBOBs comment helped me when I had that issue

    • disable hyper v

    • Did you find a solution ? I upgraded to Mojave and am running into this issue.

  • Anyone know what's happening with diesel prices? It's been 159.9 for almost a week now, not budging.

    • Totally not rigged at all…. nothing to do with the fact that it's school holidays…

Luckily I locked in at 143.9 just before the holidays, and 14 69 just into the holidays to cover our road trip, but I'm getting low now!

    • +2

I found that it's cheaper to just go to Woolworths with 4c voucher and 5% off Giftcards.

My local Woolworths was the same as 7/11 (159.9)

      • That is what I will be doing unless things change. Unleaded petrol appears to be doing fine however.

  • What's the cheapest u98? The flagstone central store says 1.57 on the site but when i try lock it in it says 1.87. RIP

  • +3

    have you tried Shell Harbour?

Its a few cent more than the suggested Flagstone Central price but, heaps cheaper than the actual $1.87 price.

  • Why has flagstone central disappeared from the app? :(

    • It's been Ozbargained!

    • It's probably closed down.

  • -2

sick of waiting for cheaper 7/11 i had to line up like a chump at the local costco… 152/litre for diesel… it'll have to do for now ;(

  • I saved $13.40 on a 40L tank of fuel yesterday, was so thankful for that. Hopefully this one lasts me through to the next low…

  • flagstone is 169.9 now. don't border. new low cycles around is about $1.45ish. sad…

  • +9

Diesel at 145.9 in Newtown QLD.

    • +1

But the app does not seem to want to search this station to lock in. I have set the fake gps app to newtown but it wont detect the newtown 7-11 only further stations that are more expensive. Anyone else notice this?

      • Yep, same for me, on Android phone, only finds 159.9 price ?

      • +1

you sure it's newtown qld and not nsw

        • +1

There is no 7-11 in Newtown NSW. Petrol Spy shows Newtown QLD has 145.9. Maybe you are in the wrong Newtown QLD? It is the one with postcode 4350.

          • +1

@donga100: Thanks, that was the problem. All good, locked in now.

          • +1

@donga100: There's one in Toowoomba and one in Ipswich. Maybe we need a postcode column on master131's webpage as well… Damn and the postcodes are 4350 and 4305, could they make it any more confusing!?!?!

  • Is there a way to only get notifications when prices are low?

  • anyone have a spare voucher for 91/98 they can pm me? i can't lock in today since i'm not going to be at my computer for NOX. any amount will do, kinda desperate because i forgot to lock in :(

    • +2

if you pm me ur account details, I can lock in for you.

      • +2

        +1
I can do it too for anyone who wants it.

  • +5

U98 153.9 at Glen Waverley(VIC). Slight relief who needs U98 desperately.
Update - sorry ignore it as I checked on app and it is not showing that price.

    • +1

      Cheers cobba, locked in!

    • Thanks. Not desperate yet (half tank) but locked anyway. Not sure we will get anything better than that for the next 7 days.

    • Check again, I just locked in 153.9 for 98. Thanks!

      • Yeh. It went off momentarily and came back. :)

    • +2

There are 2 7-11 in Glen Waverly. 396-398 Blackburn Road is the one with the lower 98 price

    • If you were in Mount Waverley you should be able to lock U98 for 153.9
There are a few 7-Elevens in the Glen Waverley area.

      • +1

        It's gone!

        • Same!

Next best seems to be Shellharbour for 6c more. That 6c/litre is gonna sting, bad.

    • Cheers locked in and just filled up 60ltrs saved $14.
