Sorry for inconvenience, Link updated.
7506 are here. Certainly the best neutral headphones for $~100USD. Audio Technica and AKG's offerings don't come close.
EDIT: The 7506 don't ship to Australia unfortunately :(. The only seller willing to ship V6's want $46.59 for shipping :O. $150 USD for V6's is a pretty steep asking price. The free shipping is for those lucky folk who will soon call Donald Trump their president (so maybe not so lucky).I don't believe there's much if any difference between the v6 and 7506. I have both and apart from red vs blue highlights they seem identical to me.
They seem to be an industry standard, but they're not particularly amazing headphones.
Virtually indestructible, clear, near flat response across the entire audible range, very light and comfortable and solid coiled cable for use on pro audio/video equipment. What more amazing do you need in a monitoring headphone?
Their major asset is how robust they are. Bass is underwhelming. The 7520 are something to rave about. I have both.
Store DJ sell these headphones for AUD$149 + Shipping. Not only cheaper, but also dealing with an Australian company, who from my experience provide great service.

I almost brought these from them over the Christmas break, but unfortunately out of stock where I am at the moment.
with recent $20 ebay voucher it becomes $129.
review shows this phone is very good for the price, but mostly in a studio environment or with amp. can mobile phones drive it smoothly?
These are best for system PC. However, they may work depending upon the mobile device you ar using.
thanks. I will use it mostly for macbook pro.
I was tossing up between these and the Audio Technica ATH-M40X which are similar in quality but much cheaper at around 120 AUD. The M40X are solid too.
I am in same boat for a while and eventually opt for 7506 ($129) than m40x ($127).
Link is for Sony MDR-V6, slightly different from the MDR-7506
