    • The stocks last refers to the whole bundle - not the download code.

    • Grabbed the battlefield bundle in Target Parramatta. I would say that there is a chance that the tokens can run out - they scanned it as 2 cents on top the single One S at 279. Didn't seem fully bundled in.

      • So if I were to buy it from their online store I should expect separate token outside the box for the battlefield game then? Cheers

        • Sorry late reply - but yes it would be separate

  • +1

Also on ebay now … unfortunatley not stackable with the CAU10 discount (at least from my account)

  • does this one come with the 14 day xbox live trial?

  • Just purchased mine from Target Maroochydore. They only had 3 Battlefield 1 tokens available. BF 1 was scanned as a separate item. The senior sale attendant was not aware the sale was on (he had just walked in) and there were no plans to his knowledge for further tokens to arrive.

  • Bought via click and collect, I hope I get to pick to pick it up later today or tomorrow.

  • If EB can match this offer it is better to buy it from EB for the extra carrots

    • I like carrots.

    • As price keeps dropping I am tempted to but one to replace my old Xbox one for the extra 4k player, just don't know whether I should pull the trigger now or wait for the boxing day offer which may unpresidentedly be 259/249?

      • +1

As a general guide if a deal gets 300+ upvotes, you won't get a better one right after it.

      • +1

I bought one from EB. It won't arrive until after christmas/boxing day which I'm okay with because if it gets cheaper I intend to return the one I ordered today and pickup the cheaper one during the boxing day sales.

Edit: Target gives 28 days to return a product (https://www.target.com.au/help/refund-policy)

  • Receipt says just xbox one s, no mention of game token?

    • Looks like you got jipped :(

    • BF1 came as a separate item. A game holder sized card with a scratch away redemption key

      • Cool. Did they also not tell you in the emails?

    • My receipt just said the console as well, but the game does ship with it. Just picked it up.

  • Is it worth just buying this for 4k? I have a 65" Bauhn 4k and want to watch 4k netflix on it. There's hardly any content on the net to download and i don't have a 4k chromecast.

Can i watch 4k youtube on it as well?

  • just went to my local target…out of stock…check another target down the road …console was in stock…but didn't have the battlefield 1 token in stock O_o huh? WHAT?!

  • Placed an order online paid using giftcards and they rejected my order. called their helpline and they don't know why it was rejected. they are looking into it further and will get back to me, No Eta

    My Order Details
    Your order has been rejected

Sorry, we are unable to proceed with your order. If you have any questions regarding this order please contact Target Online Shopping Support on 1300 753 567

  • Includes Battlefield 1 download token whilst stock lasts?????????? What!!!!!!!!!!

    • I'm confused too. Is it guaranteed? Shipped with console?

  • +2

Picked one up from Indooroopilly this morning. They had no idea about the sale but found some sort of internal memo eventually and in the end gave me the console and the Battlefield 1 physical game.

    • +1

Lucky u… physical game is better than token

    • That is lucky! My guy didn't know what he was doing either and I was hoping that he has going to give me the physical game as well. This might be good for people trying to get it still, get them to give you the game because it is advertised with the game :P (I too was hoping for the game so that I could sell it)

  • My wife had a 20% off ebay voucher in her account, so no doubt she'll be impressed that I used that to buy another xbox

  • I already have a 1TB Xbox One (non-S version) but still tempted at this price! Great machine.

Will hold tight given little reason for me given I don't have a 4K television to make use of the 4K grunt of the box.

Best I wait it out and lay out some dosh when Scorpio comes out next year. Sheesh, so tempting.

I can't even recall what these would ordinarily retail out given everywhere has them around $299 at the 'mo.

  • Managed to pick one up with a physical copy of the game.

  • great deal. bought one thanks.

is this deal better than this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/282938?

    • Depends on individual circumstances I suppose.. For me personally, I won't be playing much games at all, and would use it mainly for 4K movies, and games bought will be mainly for kids. On that basis, I think this deal is more than sufficient for us. However, for heavy/pro gamers, the boxing day deal could sound more appealing (I have tossed up between these 2 deals many times before I decide to go with this).

      • This is an upgrade for my son from xbox 360, he has about 10 games or so and will be doing his yr 12 next year so i am still tossing between the 2. Can the xbox 360 controller use with the xbox one s?

        • @Datatemp

          Unfortunately the 360 controllers won't work :( (reference: https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/console/compatibilit…)

        • +1

I am not sure about the controller. Are the additional games included in the 1TB package attractive enough for him to play down the track? As for the difference in memory (500gb vs 2tb), someone has mentioned it could be cheaper just to buy an expansion portable hard drive if required.

      • +1

I think that it's really dependent on your budget and what you consider bang for your buck.

I agree with @feihong in that if you're not a heavy gamer/pro gamer you probably don't need the extra space. I mainly play exclusives on the Xbone, with my PS4 being my main gaming console so I know 500GB is more than sufficient for me without bothering to swap out the hard drive.

In terms of the deal and a breakdown:
The games in the boxing day sale deal have been (didn't look very hard for the cheapest price on ozbargain so could be cheaper):
        - Rare Replay $18
        - Halo 5 $17
        - Fifa 17 $54
        - Halo Master Chief Collection $10
        - Movie - $30? (not sure checked Amazon and it's $25 USD)
So you'd be getting $129 worth of stuff + the extra hard disk space for $270 (if you are bothered to sell the stuff/can get that much for them) - $13-43 more for an extra 500GB.
Edit: Just noticed Masterchief and Fifa are download codes. If you try to sell it it's more than likely you will get less then what you'd get for a retail disk so keep that in mind.

vs this deal you get either Minecraft on Xbone+Windows10+DLC ($7/$10/$5) - $22 or Battlefield 1 ($52) which ends up being $257/$227 respectively.

        • My observation:

I've got the 1TB. Never thought it would come in handy but with just a few complete digital downloads, plus the significant amount of data that automatically gets written to the hard drive for disc-owned games, it's surpassed 500GB already (few months since purchased).

        • Fair enough.

I've had a 1TB Xbox One [Not S] since the initial release in Nov 2014 (of the 1TB edition) and haven't surpassed 350GB.

I suspect most people probably won't have both consoles or if they do some prefer Xbone over PS4, so it makes sense that people will surpass the 500GB capacity (I had this issue with my original 500GB PS4 and started deleting games when I platinumed/fully completed them and uploading the save file to PS+).

I've managed to hold out and not buy 1…
Really really wanted 1 because of the price but…

PS4 has more exclusives, better hardware and I've already invested in psn's digital purchases.
How often do I use a blu ray player? never.
What about media player? Chromecast + smartphone best combo hands down with better navigation.
Streaming to pc? But there are no games that interest me or are available on ps4/pc anyway.

The only thing that might push me into getting it is Steam streaming to Xbox, but it isn't out yet.

I've been trying to convince myself to get 1 with the things listed above but my circumstances just doesn't allow me to, I'm 100% sure this $279 investment would just be sitting there collecting dust after my initial 1 week of use.

    • Original Chromecast can't play 4k. $100 for 4k Chromecast.

      • So can my 4k android TV, but the TV in the lounge is 1080p and that $100 chromecast is also pointless to me.

I never spend time streaming 4k except for those random YouTube videos that has it and all my usual streaming services are 1080p max.

    • You are aware the hardware is the EXACT SAME for both base model xbox and ps4
PS4Pro is slightly overclocked and might be different but I am 100% certain both units use the SAME hardware

      • Relax this isn't a console war about petty things, I already have a ps4pro and the other reasons above outweighs the "exact same hardware" trivialities.

        • Who said this was about console wars, I am a person of facts and don't really find comments made were correct, so moving forward here are the "facts" vs the comments made.

          PS4 Pro

          2.1GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar

          Xbox One S

          1.75GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar

          So a slightly overclocked processor

Video card is definately quicker in the PS4Pro but its not any different in base hardware to the Xbox One S

AMD make the processors for both units, Sony has simply overclocked and squeezed a little more Juice out of the Unit, don't get me wrong I love both the PS4 and Xbox One

But to say Better hardware, well you're definately wrong there, better specced hardware (overclocked lets call it) you would be right but there are only minor differences with both systems "standard CPU" specs

The PS4 definately wins with the Video Card enhancement and Slightly better GDDR5 ram

          Video Card Xbox One S:

1.4 TFLOP AMD Radeon⁶ slightly overclocked for 4k upscaling

          PS4 Pro

4.2 TFLOP AMD Radeon (36CU, 911MHz), overclocked to gain more performance, having more video ram also helps the PS4Pro, but once again the same "core hardware"

As for upscaling, the PS4 offers Scaling like the Xbox One S but allows developers to change game code, that makes it a clear winner in that regard

What keeps me on Xbox is the better online gaming experience, Xbox Live pricing is far better and more realistic than the ripoff joke Sony PSN is, Also having two data leaks / credit card leaks months within each other has turned me right off Sony

Each to their own but I prefer the Xbox / Windows 10 ecosystem vs the Expensive, less secure PSN network.

        • @shawncro 222:
          Again trivialities…
High clocked speed but 'it doesn't matter cause it's still the same… ' and using incidents from 10yrs ago.
I haven't played any online games on console yet and jrpg's are non existent on the xbox except for the multiplatform releases.

You obviously hate the Sony's but I have nothing against Microsoft.
If you wanna bash Sony further, go for it, there are crap Microsoft did as well but this is a 'expired deal' from 1 week ago, not a Microsft is better than Sony post.

  • Picked one up, didn't seem to know about the deal, but just showed them the website. Got a physical copy of BF1 too.

  • So finally no boxing deal for XBox.

  • Target refusing to provide download token because they said you have to add BF1 to the basket.

  • "It was actually listed in the catalogue as whilst stocks last.

This means that we had limited stock available of the game tokens.

Once these run out we were unable to fulfill the game tokens in orders."

No warning. Didn't stop them from taking my $

    • That is really poor from target. Mine is being delivered tomorrow and I will be harassing them if the game isn't included. They should just remove the item from their website if they cannot provide it.
I was about to buy an extra controller for $69 from target, but I will wait and won't be buying from them if they stiff me too.
