  • How soon can I get a SIM delivered to Melbourne if I order today?

    • +2

If you choose Express Post (will cost $5) then we will try to get it out with today's run (You'll need to order within the next 20mins though)

      Otherwise will leave tomorrow

      • Your website stills says min. cost $59 you might want to fix that.

So if I get the 50GB data SIM can I use it for one month or two months, or is it 3 months mandatory with this new deal?

        • This is a month to month plan - there is no minimum commitment. The $5 off promotion lasts for 3 months

Also the $59 min cost on the website refers to the non promotional price. (we always quote the non-promotional pricing so as not to mislead people in the minimum spend in our communications - it's also why we talk about the total cost as including the setup fee in our Critical Information Summaries, even when we are running free setup promotions - we don't want to mislead people).

I just checked with our despatch team - and unfortunately we have missed today's cutoff - so any orders received this afternoon will leave tomorrow - sorry for the miscommunication)

        • @Jeenee Mobile: So will express post shipped tomorrow, arrive by Monday because it says 7 working days on your site which is a long time for an express post envelope.

        • +1

Even express post has 'posted by' times and then it also has location fine prints .

        • +1

@zan5hin: Express Post will leave tomorrow. It should reach Melbourne by Monday - but obviously is in the hands of Aust Post. It will definitely leave Sydney tomorrow though

Interested in the 50gb data plan, is it speed limited optus 4g like vivid wireless or is it full speed similar to ovo?

Eg, is it 12/1 maximum speed or uncapped up to 150mbps?

    • It's full speed - Optus 4G - same as OVO

    • Last time I checked there was no speed limit on Optus except for the 200GB 4G home plan.

      • +1

That's correct. Jeenee gets the full Optus 4G Plus speed.

I just did a Speed Test on my handset - S7 Edge in our office in Parramatta

        127.81 Mb/s Down
        13.28 Mb/s Up

  • Good 50gb offer, dumping OVO and jumping on this offer

    • I think that's a good idea, I am on the phone to OVO now trying to see if I can reactivate my 50GB / $59.95 SIM card which I haven't used for a few months. I pressed 1 for sales and have been on hold for over 12 minutes.

      • Same boat, trying to get them to reactive SIM within the 60 days. Promised to fix or tell me by last Friday morning at the latest, still nothing, contacted twice no response.

        • +1

After 18 minutes on hold they answered and said it wouldn't be a problem? Hmmm…

  • Unlimited phone call? Does it include 1300/13 numbers, or national phone call or just local standard phone call or any mobile call regardless with Jeenee mobile or not? Any overseas phone call will be included? Thanks

    • Our Unlimited Pennywise Plans include Unlimited calls to all standard Australian landlines and mobiles (including 1300 / 13 / 1800). Some of our Unlimited Plans include International call inclusions:

$30 Unlimited Pennywise - includes 4GB data, $50 International calls
$35 Unlimited Pennywise - includes 8GB data, $300 International calls (This plan is discounted to $30 for the first 3 months)
$40 Unlimited Pennywise - includes 10GB data, $300 International calls (This plan is discounted to $35 for the first 3 months)
$60 Unlimited Pennywise - includes 15GB data, $500 International calls

Plus all Unlimited plans have FREE setup

International Call Rates can be found here - https://www.jeenee.org.au/important-information/internationa…

I've updated the post to include the International Call Inclusions

  • Can you recharge if you run out of data in same month and the month resets on that day instead? OVO supports that. Would be awesome if you did as well!

    • OVO no longer supports an early recharge, it sucks. Instead, strictly $10/gb in excess of your plan. IMO it's a major step backwards - and if Jeenee offered this, I'd switch.

    • Not anymore they don't.

    • We are a postpaid service. If you need more data you can purchase data packs:

      1GB for $10
      2.5GB for $20
      4GB for $30

      • The bad thing about Jeenee is that you can only top up data by calling them during the business hours. If you run out of data on Friday night, you can't do anything until Monday morning.

        • +3

Watch this space. We are in the process of automating the top up process. Should be available in a few weeks

      • +2

        "We are a postpaid service."

Oops! that could lead to a nasty bill shock if one or ones family don't tread with care and check. Honestly, I would prefer it stops unless I OK any extra data and charges.
Can it be setup to add a Data pack automatically?

Just noticed your comment above, auto data pack sound good.

        • Yeah at the moment it stops, no bill shock… but sudden loss of data shock instead lol

        • +2

We deal with potential bill shock by barring the service when it hits 100% of usage.

We send you usage alerts at 50%, 70%, 85% and 100% (at which point we bar the service).

There are limitations to the barring - it is network dependent (and maybe up to 24 hours delayed - but typically they come through within 4 hours).

Also we cannot bar in the middle of a session.

You can also add data packs if you are getting close to the monthly limit

        • "We deal with potential bill shock by barring the service when it hits 100% of usage."

This I like.Sooner have Data Shock than Bill Shock.

        • +4

@saywhat: We always try to do the right thing by our customers wherever we possibly can. We have lots of potentially vulnerable people as customers - people living with disabilities, the elderly and lots of families with young kids. We find that barring at 100% works well for a lot of our customers. Some people prefer to let their plan run over and are happy to either add a data pack or pay on a PAYG per MB arrangement. It's really up to the individual to make the choice that best suits their particular circumstance.

    • Yep not anymore. Last week I ran out 4 days prior to expiry and couldn't recharge, except for the addon data.

Online chat confirmed they are now enforcing this.

  • anyone have any comments about this provider? Thinking of jumping from virgin

    • I used them last year for the whole year, great service - very friendly and prompt. Good reception and speeds too.

Might go back to them once the Apple Music subscription ends on my Telstra 12 month thing.

  • Hi Rep, any chance you guys will start allowing shared data?

    • +1

Great suggestion. We are in constant discussions with our wholesale provider to enable certain features such as shared data. We'll keep pushing for it and will launch it ASAP if and when it becomes available to us

  • Is there any reason I can't use one of these data SIMs in an old unlocked Optus 4G phone, using the phone's WiFi hotspot to share a connection with several users?

    • No reason at all. Just be aware that the plan does not come with any voice or text allowances - so as long as you just want to share data via a mobile hotspot it should work fine

      • Awesome, going on holiday with family. We all have phones for calls/SMS etc, just looking for an economical way to get a decent amount of data to share amongst 5 or 6 users for browsing etc over a couple weeks.

I assume this would be an auto-repay each month unless cancelled?

        • That's correct. The plan is a month to month and continues on until you cancel

  • what is "FREE Setup", do you guys come to me and setup my usb modem?

    • The Setup cost covers the cost of the SIM and delivery (we send all SIMs out by Registered post). The cost is usually $10 - but is free on this deal

      • You should change it since your not setting up anything. It should read "Free SIM card and Delivery".

Setup is totally different to what your offering.

        • Thanks - I'll amend the post now

  • The pricing in here is different with above?
    https://www.jeenee.org.au/products/data-packs/

    • These prices refer to the add-on Data Packs that can be added to your plan if you need more data in the month. Think of them as top up amounts that you can buy data in blocks rather than being charged at an excess rate of $0.02/MB in the PAYG model.

      The Monthly plan rates are:

      Data SIMs (Optus 4G Plus)
      * 1.5GB - $10/mth
      * 5GB - $20/mth
      * 10GB - $30/mth
      * 15GB - $40/mth
      * 50GB - $54/mth (save $5/mth for first 3 mths) - Regular price - $59/mth

  • I am already a customer. When will you guys offer global roaming so I can continue to use my phone when I am overseas.

    • +1

Global Roaming is a tricky one as it is potentially very, very expensive for people who are often unaware of the costs involved. It is possible for people to incur bills of many thousands of dollars without being really aware that it is happening. I have seen roaming bills of > $10K with other carriers - bills that customers just cannot afford to pay. It is tricky as the costs are generated by the carrier in the country in which the person is roaming and simply passed through by Optus to us.

That being said, we are also mindful that some customers prefer the flexibility of using their phone whilst overseas and are happy to incur the roaming charges. We are always looking at our policies and are always willing to adjust if there is sufficient demand from our customers. Please shoot me an email at [email protected] so that we can keep update you of any changes.

  • WTF 50GB?? I'm on the 2GB and have never gone over that.

    Am I doing things wrong?

    • youtube. netflix.

      • Nonono.

        Redtube.. Pornhd

  • This is a pretty sweet deal considering I'm paying $44.95 for only 25 GB with Ovo.
Will definitely be signing up once I've used up my quota.

Being 4.5 km from the exchange SMH

  • I am interested in pennywise essentials plan but when i checkout. There is a message below. Does that mean this is not available to a new customer?

The $18 Pennywise Essentials Plan promotion is only available when bundled with another service. You need to already have a service with us, or add an Unlimited Pennywise Plan to your cart in order to be eligible for this discount.

  • It appears that the offer that you are referring to is the $18 Pennywise plan discounted to $12 for the first 6-months. This offer is available only when you bundle it with any of our Unlimited Pennywise plans (or if you are an existing customer if you have an active service on your account). To qualify you must add an Unlimited Pennywise plan as well as the $12 bundle offer in your cart at checkout.

The specific T&Cs of the offer are:
This plan is only available when bundled with an Unlimited Pennywise Plan, or to existing customers with another active service on the same account.
This plan is available for the connection of new services only, existing services cannot be transferred to this plan.
Promotional price of $12 per month applies for the first 6 months, after which the cost will change back to $18 per month.
To qualify, you must have another active mobile service on the same account, which remains active for the life of the promotion. If you are not eligible for the discount, the price will revert to $18 per month.

If you don't wish to bundle a service you can get the $18 Pennywise Plan for $15 per month for the first 6-months instead (and if you select the 6-month contract option - you get one month free - which works out to be $12.50 per month over 6 months)

  • Can you tell me how is the monthly cycle start date calculated? Is it based on the date I activate the SIM card?

    • The billing cycle starts from when the service is sent out to you. Normally there are only a fe days between send date and activate date. If this is longer then give us a call when you activate the service and we will credit the difference back to the activation date

  • Well, I ordered this on Saturday with an express post (+$5) option so that I get it at least on Tuesday. It's already Wednesday cob and still haven't received the order. Not too impressed

    • How long did it take to actually receive it?

      • it never arrived. I had to pick it up from their office in parramatta

        • Thanks for the update. For $9 more and double the quota (compared to Ovo), I'm willing to give them a shot.

  • Guys,

Haven't seen a bigger scam then this. I cancelled the plan well before the billing cycle with more than 1.5gb data of the 50gb still left on the plan. I got a invoice today for $115 in addition to the $59 I had already paid during sign up.

I am overseas so couldn't call and tell them. I have sent them a email. But please beware of this scamsters
