We are aware of the HDMI advertising guidelines about showing the HDMI version but since no company has acknowledged this we decided to keep it:

    Kogan HDMI cables

    CableChick HDMI Cables

Thanks please let us know if you have any questions or queries :)

"Everyone else is doing the wrong thing, so we'll do the same as well"

      Nice.

        http://www.digitalhome.ca/2009/11/version-numbers-to-be-bann…
        Unfortunately, it's how business works.

I actually agree with you, but after a quick bit of research, these are (promising to be) decent cables.
How do you differentiate that if no one else is playing by the rules?

It's easy to high-horse this stuff, but if everyone brought a gun to a knife fight, I'd be pretty pissed I was the only one without a gun too….

        • +1

These are specified to be high speed HDMI cables with ethernet, which is the preferred terminology. Why specifically go out of the way to acknowledge that you knowingly broke the rules? It does not reflect well on the ethos of the company.

        • +1

@Fiximol: I personally like a company that doesn't let the others (who are also breaking the rules, and NOT acknowledging it) get a leg-up in the market.

It's not right overall, but you can paint the attitude with several different colors based on your personal bias.
Mine stands, as I said above.

You show up at a knife fight, everyone cracks out guns, I'd still give the moral high-ground to the guy who yells out "THIS IS WRONG! WE SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS!" even though he doesn't want to place his gun down; because the others are still armed.

        • @MasterScythe: Excellent explanation MasterScythe! We completely took out the HDMI version numbers about a month ago and we got so many calls from customers asking us what version our cables were and if our cables are better or worse than kogan's or cablechick's. Unfortunately majority of customers still use the HDMI versions to make a decision when purchasing a HDMI cable.

        • +1

@MasterScythe: Difference in opinion then. I can't stand others of my profession who breaks the rules in the name of profit - and it happens, too much. Sometimes I chalk it up to ignorance, but this is clearly not the case here.

You can justify it however you like. The fact is that there are stated rules and they have been intentionally broken.

      • If seller was genuine about concern for customers, they'd put a disclaimer in their advertisement stating that high-speed HDMI cables are sufficient for (4K/UltraHD) HDMI 2.0a devices.

The only outstanding cables are verified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable.

so you have an 'optional extras' selection box but the transaction does not proceed unless you select it which adds $1.48 to the price???

    • Huge mistake from our side! Problem has been fixed.
      Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • +1

Why is it when I try to add the cable to my cart, it forces me to get the additional $1.48 transit cover???? I don't want transit cover for an item that costs me $4.95 shipped.

    • Please refresh your page, the issue has been fixed.
      Sorry for the inconvenience.

6 comes to about $25 shipped.
    Not complaining :)

Nice red ends and a woven cable, MSY is about the same price, so I'm not going to get them cheaper anywhere else :)

    • Hey MasterScythe Im not too sure why you are being charged $25 for the shipping.
The shipped options I see with 6 units in cart is:

AUS Post (ETA 3-7 days) $1.95
AUS Post Express (ETA 2-3 days) $5.95
Startrack Express (ETA 1-2 days) $8.95

      • +1

Shopping to Brisbane charged me about $6.
        6 of them, $25 shipped.

        Should it have been cheaper?

        • Oh no the shipping is not charged per unit and its weight based : ) so these are the options you should see with 6 of these cables in cart:

Registered Post (ETA 3-5 days) $6.95
AUS Post Express (ETA 2-3 days) $11.95
Startrack Express (ETA 1-2 days) $14.95

          Sincerely
          AJ

        • +1

          Should it have been cheaper?

Only if you split it into 3 orders of 2. Then you would have saved a $1.10

        • +1

@kamoi: I'll pay the $1.10 to not get more emails from paypal :P

  • Anybody used this before and care to review?

  • +1

For that price I'll give them a go. Thanks.

  • +1

Thanks Op, got 3 and will collect it tomorrow morning.

  • +1

Can I go to the store and buy the cable directly (without doing a click and collect)?. Thanks

    • Thats not a problem at all!
