Better money spent on an Android Kodi Box. Plays MKV and everything else you chuck at it + KODI.. WIN WIN.

I've tested out this box. It struggle to play my 1080p MKVs due to older chipset. The new Android Kodi TV Box comes with 4 & 8 Core and I've had no issues playing full HD or even 4K contents.

  • very hard to find the very basic ones

Pretty sure there's like a million of these Android style TV boxes and they are posted all the time here.
Decent price for two of 'em though.

      this

considering these were being cleared out BNIB almost 2 years ago for $27 each @ OW, paying the equiv of $25 each for used refurbs is kinda meh

plenty of better options in the sub $50 range if you only need one

I got one for $12.50 at Dicks Fire Sale. I should have bought a whopper meal instead.

  • I would steer clear of this box. Very unstable, random crashes. I replaced it with a nexbox a95x, $55 and so much better.

Did you stop to think why Kaiser Baas themselves are selling "used" versions of their own media player?

It's junk, all the media players/capture cards I have had from these guys are cheap and have died or had faults. I would steer clear and buy one of the other options people have suggested.

  • It's junk I had one and sold it after using it briefly

  • It's junk. I bought one from Officeworks about a year ago and returned it right away. It's the grade of a cheap LCD TV with a USB port

  • How does this compare with the Popcorn Hour?

    • Popcorn hour 1 million times better

  • Duplicate entry

I bought three of these for $10 each at an Officeworks clearout. They are fantastic for elderly people who would struggle with an Android box. It's the closest I've found to a DVD player style remote control.

My grandmother, aunt and mother use them. They can't use smartphones, don't own computers, and have no clue how to navigate complex interfaces. An airmouse or keyboard style interface would be of no use to them. All they want is Play/Pause/Rewind basically. I've ripped some of their DVD collections to USB hard drive so they can enjoy them without fumbling with DVDs, and ripped some of their old VHS tapes so they will last longer. It's good too that they can play a few hours of a season of TV show without having to get up and change the disc every few episodes. None of them have internet connections so Netflix is not an option. A $10 media player plus an old spare USB external hard disk ended up working pretty well for them!

  • I found about 10 of these in a council cleanup the other day, only problem is they only came with 2 remotes. ~They work well but with no internet the use is limited when modern TV boxes are so good. Would it be possible to get them to work without a remote? or use the parts? I guess I can try and sell 2 of them and throw in some extras.
