  • Dubious claim there as many of them are almost entirely plastic nowadays, but still excellent value at $1 each. :)

    • yep they have been mostly plastic for probably ten years now :(

if you actually find one with a metal base these days its like striking gold !

  • they only one that I want is the FT86/BRZ
    has anyone seen it?
cant find it when I go checking

You don't want one of them.

Only ones I see all have livery on them, literally everywhere in VIC.

    • I have Silver. Has Evasive wirtten down the side. Probably released about 2 years ago now. Won't find any on the pegs.

  • Be great to find a few Honda Z50s in the mix.

    • I have a bunch of Red ones. Yellow is what I am looking for now.

      • Same. I will buy a few if I find em and send you one.

        • I would love that. I'll send you stuff in return :)

  • Just as a show of hands…
Who buys this for their kids to play with?
Who buys this as a collectors item??? If so… Do you open the packaging?

Just curious… I know HOT wHEELS do release some collectors range like K.I.T.T , Fast & Furious and even Back to the Future; all of which are worth a pretty penny.

I for one collect the exotic car ranges (package open of course) coz GOD knows I ain't ever gonna be able to afford a real life one.
(A boy can only dream lol).

    • I don't open mine…anymore.

Decor containers. They have taken over my life. I'm sitting at around 1000-1200 in packages right now.

      • 1K :O

      • :) i have just that amount too
starting from old blue cards to real riders, supers and errors :) to mainlines and loving the new RX-3!

    • am thinking of buying my first- to open up packaging for display!

    • I buy for my 2yo so gotta open them, but I pick the cars I like!

I'm no expert, so what are people's thoughts on general difference with Matchbox?

    • On a sort of related note. Bought a limited edition, mint condition in box subaru wrx transformers die cast metal.

      Looks like this one.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Transformers-Binaltech-Bt-19-Impr…

Gave it to a friend as a present. Informed him that its a limited edition mint condition collectible. All of which went over his head as i came by his place later on to find his kid playing with said collectible. There goes the resale value. Better off buying a $5 toy car if he was going to do this.

As a Hot Wheels Collector (hence my username), this excites me.

However Kmart are brigning out really old cases. All my locals anyway.

  • "to last a lifetime" ?!! Lol.. my 3 year old demands an apology for such misleading statements.

  • Anyone know if there is a VW Amarok hot wheels or similar model available anywhere?

Same price at Target from memory

Note you're going to be disappointed if you believe their statement about quality - they're made of cheap plastic these days.

$1.60 in the latest target catalog

Aww, seems the deals have both ended.

I buy for my kids. My son rips them open as soon as the package gets in his hands. He does love those little cars though, carries them around al day long.
