is it me or are they try to sell the tickets no one wants?

    • -3

I agree, This is just as bad as that stupid David Beckham match.

    • aint that the point of discouns LOL
watch them discount the state of orgin match
its sellin on ebay for a few cents

    • Save the negatives for when there's a definite problem; not for when you are asking a question.

  • Its you. There will be a lot of people keen to go see Everton play, especially with Tim Cahill coming. Dont know why u neg'ed the deal.

  • +2

Now this is the price that is a lot more acceptable. $139 was a rip off. I also don't know why giving neg just because you might not like the seats you get. That's your problem and the deal is still great for most of us. Some people might think its a stupid game and not worth watching, but that is your personal opinion, which does not make this deal worth giving neg. Some people really need to be limited to reading only.
    Nice find.

  • lol i reckon
yeah 139 was a bit too much
    100 is a better price
    got some nice gold tickets

cahil should be playing so sweet

$49 to see Everton play in a friendly? give me a break, this is definitely NOT a bargain. This is extremely overpriced and a large bulk of the money is going to the promoter of this tour.

Go and find out the price of a friendly in the UK between 2 big European clubs…then come back and try and tell me that $49 for Everton v sydney is a bargain.. ho ho.

    • Whilst i agree this doesnt appear to be a bargain to me either, your example doesnt really make sense as we dont get those clubs playing friendlies here at all and not being in the UK they have certain expenses ie flights insurance etc which cost money.

      • I agree that the costs are higher and these definitely need to be factored into the value of the ticket… just like when we pay for an imported product.

But even when you factor those extra costs in, at $50 it is still too expensive, regardless of whether or not we have big european sides over here.

edit - just spotted that tickets are available for $19.95 - that's more like it.

        • yeah
orginal prices were a bit high
but that seems to be the price these days
watching sports in australia is insanely expensive!

    • Bronze tickets are actually $20 (plus the associated rip off "booking fee")

    • +2

Ok so going by your theory, when Australia national team plays someone like Holland national team, then $49 is too much as well? We pay $30+ to watch a HAL game (which compared to Europe has absolutely no quality or class) or just about the same amount of money to watch NRL games, but to watch one of the more popular European teams come here to play (which does not happen very often i might add) is too much for you. This if course does not include expenses like flights and accommodation and so on.
Your argument about much cheaper tickets for friendly games in UK is really dumb too. How much are tickets for friendly games between 2 HAL teams? If you are going to compare, then at least compare apples to apples for crying out loud.
Seriously, grow up and put things in perspective.

      • I don't even know what a HAL team is ?

The point I'm making is that your AUD$50 ticket to watch a 2nd class premier league team vs a 3rd rate australian side, simply is not good value no matter where you live on this planet.

You talk about comparing apples with apples and then you go onto talk about NRL games ? I assume these NRL games are actually competitive matches between good sides? and you're comparing that value, to this friendly event???? I don't see your logic there.

ps - your perspective is also more than a little flawed if you think that Everton are one of the more popular European sides…ho ho.

        • Well if you don't know what HAL is, then i can see where your opinion is coming from. Clearly you don't follow REAL football and therefore i can't expect you to understand it. You don't have a point TBH. Everton is not the BIG 4 team, but it is damn close to it.
As for Sydney FC, you may see them as bunch of amateurs (and i agree to some extent), however it is pretty stupid to call them a 3rd rate Australian side when they are current premiership and championship title holders in our highest level football competition, which just so happens to be HAL (Hyundai A-League) and that is Australian National League, which just so happens to be the highest football competition in Australia.
And you are right about me comparing NRL to REAL football. I like NRL as well, but truth be told, there is no comparison as NRL will always be inferior the WORLD game or the beautiful game as it is called.

          • @allyemil: Well you couldn't be further from the truth Allyemil. I've followed "real" football for over 30 years and I played professional football for an English 2nd division side for 2 of those years.

Let's clear up a few things.
            1) Everton are not close to being a top four team.
            2) Sydney might be the best team in Australia, but you need to put it in context. "Eric the eel" was the best swimmer in Guinea… didn't mean he was actually any good though compared to everyone else.
            3) HAL - that's the first time I've ever seen that abbreviation, anywhere.

The point I was trying to make, was simply that $50 is too much to watch 2 pretty average sides play a friendly, regardless of whether or not we live in Australia…. Its just not good value. The proof's in the pudding. They had to bring the price down from $50 and make $20 seats available otherwise the stadium would be empty.

            • @clandestino: actualy the everton supportor section was sold out 1 month ago (non tight arses lol)
              lol
the other sections were around half to 3/4full (have been moitoring seats lol)
top sections are not full (doubtful u would get 100k anyway)

            • @clandestino: Just because their not in the big 4 doesnt mean they are a '2nd class premier league team' and I dont see how your experience, made up or not, makes your opinon more relevant then Allyemil's.

              • @scampy: sorry you're right it doesn't make my opinion more relevant… it was just the "you don't follow REAL football" part that made me chuckle.

10years after having played "real" football I can tell you that it certainly plays "real" havoc with your knees later in life.

            • @clandestino: I've followed football for about 10 years and I too have never seen the A-League abbreviated as "HAL". Though to be fair, I don't follow it at all.

And professional football for an English 2nd division side. Wow.. if you're not lying, that's pretty damn impressive haha.

            • @clandestino: Well done on your career, if what you said is true and IMO that is a huge if, but that's besides the point.
I never said Everton is a top 4 team. All i said is that they are one of the more popular teams in EPL and quite frankly while they are not the top 4 caliber, they are one of the better teams as Everton is a team that has been finishing just behind the big 4 for a few years now and you call them. Even i as i Liverpool supporter have to admit that.
Anyway, you think it is too much and that is fair enough as you are entitled to your opinion, but i doubt you would find many people that would agree with you.
I personally think that SOO matches are way too expensive. Every year you see the same damn thing between QLD and NSW yet public pays huge amount of money to go and watch that same repetition year in and year out. When you have teams like Everton come here, well that is certainly a bit different and does not happen every year so well worth the $50.

Good to see that mods here are taking care of neg votes that really shouldn't be neg.

              • @allyemil: I nearly asked you "what does SOO stand for" but I figured it out pretty quickly.

State of Origin is a huge event though. It really fires up the imagination of the fans…. infinitely more so than a friendly match, soccer or not.

ps - I revoked my own vote when I realised that tickets were available for $20 (the system won't let me give a +ve now). But if $50 had been the correct price, my vote would have stayed -ve.

                cheers

    • its actually down to 19.95
my bad saw the wrong price

if 20 is still too expensive then i cant say much1

  • will this be shown on fox sports ?

  • +1

Not sure if this deserves a separate deal thread, but tickets for the game in Brisbane are down to $19.95:
