  • It says on the sign up page that if you sign up now for $5, you get $10 credit to use online and in-store? http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/clubplus

How to get free sign up?

    • You Mean This

      • Nvm, I just read the title and noticed it starts tomorrow

        • There is no free signup, but the $5 bonus in the title is given to current members prior to these sales, so make you spend money.

The promo you're talking about is for new members - costs you $5 to join but you get $10 credit, which is pretty good :)

Might be able to sign up today, and get the bonus credit tomorrow, so effectively $5 to sign up and have $15 credit to use before midnight tomorrow night

        • +2

@Spackbace: Are there any others who never get these $5 bonus credits?

        • +2

@twodollah: I don't either, but that is likely due to me unsubscribing from their lists at some stage.

        • @Spackbace:

          Sounds good! :)

hydraulic jack for $27 is a decent price

Don't forget to combine with Amex cashback when you spend $70+

  • Can you use credit to purchase gc; ie. $75, thus paying only $70 from AMEX ?

  • Email received, free calendar too :)

      Does it have boobs?

      • I dunno, you go instore and find out :P

        • +1

I would if boobs were guaranteed.

But it could just be something lame like Holdens and Fords together.

        • @Scrooge McDuck:

You've never heard of the internet? Boobs are never hard to find

  • …putting my $5 credit towards the purchase of one of these

The Amex thing is spend $70+ and get $20.
This is spend $100 and get $15 credit.

So with my understanding, the end amount on the receipt will need to be $100, but then you get $20 refund by Amex (ie, paid $80), and $15 credit on SCA (ie, $65).
    Have I got that right??

    So confusing all this bargaining!

    • That's correct. AmEx just looks at your spend amount and whatever other promos you use at the store doesn't affect it.

      • +2

you need to start with $105, use the $5 credit, pay $100 with Amex…. then as you say….

        (sorry, reply to wrong comment)

    • Sounds about right.

I already picked up the Autoglym bucket (with different contents) at Autobarn. Also made use of their 25% off engine oils last weekend, so I'm stocked up on Motul 5w40 for the beast.

Trying to work out what I can buy with over a $100 spend.

      10 bottles of Rapid Wax…

  • I never got my free calendar from last year. I hope it's still not coming.

    • It's in store only. Only limited quantities, first come first serve. It says in email while stock last.

      Foie Gras :-)

      • Get two and have Foie Gras in half the time (suppositories)

  • Has anyone bought 4 Castrol 10w40 oil (limited to two per person) within one transaction? When you are with two people?

    • Goodluck but I don't think so.

    • If it says 2 per person.. you just buy 2 each. no prob.

      • I guess I wnated to take advantage of the Amex offer. But it does say within "one or more transaction" should I should be ok

  • can you use the 5 dollar credit and buy the half price NoH2o range soo effectively pay like 13 cents ?

  • Can I click and collect ?

    • Yes you can.

    • Yes, so in the past I place an online order during the offer period and then pickup sometime later when convenient.

More $2 duct tape and $1 hacksaw blades for my collection…

  • Ridgeback 27.5" Dual Suspension Mountain Bike $99

    is this any good ?

Very cheap bike with amex combined.

    • +2

No, you are better of buying a 2nd hand Giant, Trek, Apollo or Specialized etc.
Just google "top bike brands" if you want to learn more.

    • +2

Cheap dual suspension bikes are very heavy plus with cheaper bikes you would be better off with front or no suspension. Go to a bike shop and see if they will let you take a little test ride on a cheap dual suspension bike. They are terrible.

  • Anyone would recommend the No-H2O waterless wash? I often get dusts on the bonnet after a rain, which I would like to just spray and wipe rather than doing a full car-wash.

    • Look up Optimum No Rinse. That's what you need. Excellent stuff.

      • I find it hard to understand how these work without the dust, etc scratching your paint (even if they are "micro scratches").
Anyone use these able to share their experiences?

  • +5

If you want to search for everything online <$5 use this search:

    Search

    • +1

But that search doesn't find the items under $5 for members.

I found there are some $5 wiper refills.

    • +1

      search for * instead

      • Is it me, or has a lot of things gone above $5.

i remember you used to be able to get WD40 for $5.

        • i haven't noticed. the usual filler items i buy on member credit night haven't changed in price.

  • Does this start 6 December 12:01 AM?

    • Sorry it's Tuesday 6/12 5.30 to 7.30PM

  • Oh the fun I could have with a flexible funnel…

  • Autoglym Rapid Wax - highly recommended. Smells so amazing. I love it.

I'm a VIP member but can't make it on the night. I'll see if the same offer applies at lunch time.

    • Just shop online :)

    • Do you need to polish The car first ? How many months before it needs to be rewaxed ?

      • My bad. I meant Aqua Wax, but the Rapid Detailer is amazing too.

Aqua Wax is used when the car is still wet after shampoo soaping it and rinsing. Apply the Wax (about 2-3 sprays per panel) with a microfibre cloth (which will get wet), then buff with another dry microfibre cloth.

I do my car monthly which is probably overkill. Aqua Wax isn't harsh though. I'd probably use the full clay kit but I'm lazy AF.

This catalog is the cheapest I've seen Rapid Detailer. This stuff is used for good on-the-spot cleaning too and isn't as waxy.

      • +1

Waxes don't last more than a few weeks. Carnauba works well but doesn't last long.

If you want something that lasts longer use a sealant instead. They last from 6-12 months.

If you're using a sealant most people will do the whole hog and wash, decontaminate (clay bar/clay towel), polish etc. and then seal (or wax and then seal).

Monthly waxing is definitely not overkill for someone who likes their paint shiny :)
But if you're lazy like me you might just opt for a professional detail and coat (Opticoat, ceramic pro etc.) that will easily last 5 years with just car washes.

    I just signed up.

I should get the $10 (sign up credit) +$5 credit tomorrow, and combine with the AmEx $20 off offer, do I only have to pay $50 for a $100 item?

    $100 - $10 (sign up credit) - $5 (free credit) - $15 back (Club night special) - $20 (AmEx credit) = $50
    Is that correct?

    • No, $15 is for credit for next purchase

      • Okay $65 for $100 and $15 credit for next purchase.

        • As long as the credits count towards the $100 spend, then yes, that's correct.

  • Would the 15% off gift cards on eBay stack? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/280273

EDIT: Nevermind, that's a physical card that probably will not arrive in time.

  • No credit showing in my account yet?

    • '15% credit will be applied by saturday 10th december'

…ive had credits on one of these sale events not show up in the past….
so if it doesnt show up by saturday you can call SCA customer service on: 1300 719 002 for a manual override and to update your account ;)

    • Same, nothing in my account yet at 12.40pm AEST

      • nothing me either

  • How long does it take for the $10 membership credit to be applied?

If I registered now for Club Plus would I have the credit and membership by 5.30pm?

  • Called and apparently $5 is only valid from 530pm togight

    • +1

      It says in the post

Club Members Shopping Night Tuesday 6/12 5.30 to 7.30PM

      • The email says free $5 valid 6th Dec. The funnel is currently 89c online, outside of 530-730pm

        • yes but $5 credit applies between 5.30pm - 7.30pm

    • Sydney/Melbourne time I presume?

      • +1

Probably. It's the best time zone.

      • Supercheap HQ is Brisbane - AEST😯
Store sales will be 5.30pm - 7.30pm local time, but online is a bit unknown.

  • Anything worth buying?

  • Not worth it, at least I can pick up my click and collect

  • +2

Post updated, use code GET5 to get $5 off

So it'll be the code, not store credit

And just tried and it's working :)

    • Yep no minimum spend and you can checkout as a guest!
edit: looks like you have to select a payment option so i think there is a $5 min spend

      • where did you put the code? Couldnt find the promo code field to add code.

        • there's a box on the checkout page underneath the home delivery/store pickup section

        • @tdw: Cheers!

      • Funnily enough, the payment option blanked out for me and after checking "My Orders", it said I have two orders now in process. I may or may not have been clicker-happy.

      • Wait, so does that mean we can double-dip in store and online?

Edit: Okay looks like there is a $5 minimum spend. But I just bought a $4.60 powerboard and $0.99 threadseal tape for $0.69 total with guest checkout. Will see if they cancel the order?

I feel guilty for doing this though, because I'm guessing it's exploiting an unintended loophole/glitch?

        • I ordered a foam applicator for 16 cents, just got a sms saying that it's ready. Don't have anything particular I want to buy…
          I wouldn't say it's a loophole, unless you mean using GET5 on multiple transactions…?

        • @garffi: Did you use guest checkout? I mean using GET5 with the guest checkout, and presumably you can do this multiple times.

        • @inherentchoice:

seems there is no limit in using GET5 code as long as the minimum spend of $5.01 is met.

        • @inherentchoice: nope I used my account. I made 2 orders online too (shh.. XP).
Edit: Oh you meant guest checkout…

        • @garffi: Hmm they may close the loophole and cancel the orders.

        • @PissLUR:
…. this could end in tears (if not cancelled multiple orders then possible the website guy who allowed multiple uses!).

        • +2

I cant even find where I put the GET5 in for a legitimate purchase?

*edit - Found the link under the store locator box.

Really looking for a tech screw bit doesn't look like they stock these

    • Will the $5 credit appear on our clubmembers account tonight? dont want to use code as its minimum spend :S

  • Don't like this code, rather using credit. My purchase will be $74.95. Any item of 0.05 cents ?
