don't try to too smart. i am just commenting looking at competitive prices

Don't start accusing JV of being too smart. Funny yes

      • +1
      • Haha!

  • -6

    Is this to send anywhere?

    • +4

      No.

      "across Australia"

      • +1

        No

        He already knows the answer….

Great prices especially the 15kg for $25 (not 25kg for $25 as the OP put). Hope they expand or offer other options for drop offs.

          Sorry my mistake. Fixed!

Why do you have to be difficult all the time? You clicked on the link but instead of posting the information you chose once again to be obtuse.

      • +2

        Apparently it's not across Australia.

        Some locations are excluded

      • -6

There also appears to be a surcharge for some areas…

I think I'll pass on this 'deal'… No telling what it could end up costing. Not enough info…

Most couriers do this as do Australia Post through their variable pricing system. There are some areas that cost them a lot more to deliver to because of their remoteness but this makes up a tiny percentage of the population.

I'm sure Toll won't care that JV is not using their service.

        • @Maverick-au: Forget it man. I pleaded with jv one day to stop shitposting and see reason, but sure enough he ignored it and was back at it the next day. I think he enjoys it or something. I don't mind his jokes but just ignore the inane questions.

        • @Maverick-au: jv has a point.. DHL tries to slug a flat $30 fee out of you for "remote" deliveries anytime it's not an address in a capital city, if they're doing the same here then it's no longer a deal.

Assuming the same remote fee as DHL, 1kg becomes $40…. These fees are really important details.

        • @Al Kider: exactly, its like take away. Some comments can be enjoyed weekly (predictable, but enjoyable). Others are like South Melbourne Market dimsims, just spot on, but only occasionally. Others are like deep fried mars bars, should be pointed & jeered at, but never consumed.

JV was just posting the usual rubbish to try and put down another deal, Toll have locations across Australia whereas DHL do not. The remote deliveries for Toll are very remote areas and would make up well under 1% of all delivery addresses like those that require a small plane to deliver.

I don't think it's anything to worry about as most people will know if the address they're sending to is remote and they have the option of going to Australia Post.

  • Are there size restrictions on the parcels? Or just weight?

    • Are there size restrictions on the parcels? Or just weight?

It says flat rate, you just choose the box size so I would say that there is a specific box size for each increment.

OP might want to copy this into his description to make it clearer for anyone looking at the deal??

      1kg $10
      3kg $13
      5kg $15
      10kg $25

You can see a few of the box sizes in the photo in this press release - http://www.tollgroup.com/media-release/toll-launches-pop-up-…

    • Look at the photo carefully lol

      • -4

The box sizes in the photo look the same for each weight…

  • As awesome as this deal is, traveling to Bondi would cost more in fuel than the difference in posting something at my local post office :(

Hope more locations open up around Sydney, but at this point I'd have to go pick up a box and materials then drive back and forth to drop it off. But if you're in the area definitely better than AusPost.

The press releases indicate they are targeting shoppers at the destinations so you buy the presents, gift wrap and drop it off to them and they will box it up and send it. There is no way I'd be going near one of those locations to post anything that close to Christmas. I wonder if they will have a permanent setup early next year in various locations where you drop off the parcels at somewhere like newsagencies?

      • Haha the prices are too good though :(

Haha the prices are too good though :(

Especially the 15kg for $25…. that would be many times that from Australia Post! The box size is important but the one in the photo that I linked to above looks reasonably sized.

      • Its just a xmas promo, no doubt cross subsidised by Westies.

  • How long do they take to deliver?

Also, the two smaller sizes are practically the same price as Aus Post. At least when sending via eBay/AusPost satchels. The real value seems to be in the larger sizes 5kg+

    Also are these permanent?

    • The guy I spoke to yesterday said delivery time is between 5-7 days

  • +1

"Toll’s new pop-up delivery hubs have been designed to simulate its busy operations, and will be open seven days a week at centres in Bondi Junction (NSW), Doncaster (VIC) and Carindale (QLD). Toll will look at expanding the pop-up delivery service to additional retail outlets during future peak periods such as Christmas and Easter."

Apparently there doing a roaring trade out of the $10 1kg offer.

  • Anyone know if batteries are a prohibited item?

  • how long will their pop up shop be at Doncaster?

    • The guy I spoke to yesterday at Doncaster said they'll be there until the 7th of Jan

      • thanks

      • Is this including today or they'll be closed today?
