I like it very much because I can refund GST and prefer cameras/lens stock locally.

I recommend it because they don't jack up price, which is same as their website price (in promotion)

  excellent lens … small, sharp and fast. abit expensive, but zeiss is never cheap :( and sony dont seem to be doing any special bonuses like they used to :(

        I have that one too!
        Just snagged a CZ contax zeiss 35mm f2.8 for $300ish..
        Get the CZ contax zeiss 50mm f1.7! It's like $200-$250 :)
        Use focus peaking (just discovered this) and bobs your uncle :D

  I have this lens and it's a great performer but the newer FE 50mm f1.8 seems like much better value. If I had to start over, I'd probably get that and put the extra money towards another lens.

    I have the new one, but it is very slow and loud. No use for video.
    I have bought the sel50f18 E mount and not the FE, waiting for it to be delivered.

        Yep same here, i got it grey import with a 20% off sale for like $320.
        Great price, but WOW is the focus motor loud !

  Got this lens on dayc1 release. No regrets. It is a flipping sharp lens.
