    Damn, I have a pair of Sennheiser 598's on order, should I cancel and pay the extra for these? Will they be better for general PC use with a DAC? I know almost nothing about headphones.

      Depends what you want.

      598's are open backed. These are closed back.

      The Beyer equivalent would be DT880 or 990.

      the DT770's were rated as the best gaming set.
      I have a 10+ year set of the DT770 32ohm and I personally love them.
      My brother in-law has the 990's and I prefer the 770's over them.

      But it is a personal thing I guess.

        Did they update the DT770 during those 10 years or is it still the same product?

        @lostn: I believe they have stayed the same.
        The 770's are also the goto headset monitor for studios so music tends to sounds "right" in these as they were produced with these headphones.

        but obviously not everyone uses them :)
        But I swear by them now, and will buy another set when and if these die.
        One thing I can say, is they only get better with age. Very well made.

    Designed for mobile devices, no amp needed. More practical imo.

    I'd buy if I didn't already have 990 32ohm.
