Last time when I bought refurbished Tomtom from catchoftheday, the device I received has password, and I can't reset it. I contacted catchoftheday, they said they've chansfer my question to Tomtom. After that, I never received any message.
I have to use the phone number in that GPS to call the original owner and asked for password. Then I found all the information of the original owner left in that GPS, including her name, address, phone number, and her phone address book.

I'd steer clear of the refurbished GPSs…
One Day Sale told me that TomTom only offered 3 months warranty on refurbished items, so either they're wrong or the other nine months on this one is a COTD warranty, in which case you may end up being palmed off … I do like COTD but I've read that people have a horrible time chasing up any issues, and I could foresee something like this being a massive issue.
But mainly you should steer clear of the refurb models because there are so many great deals (better than this) on brand new GPSs that have simply been superseded…
I'd just pay the extra for a brand new model. Bargain if it was brand new.
