just purchased one with the extra cable(type c included), cant wait!!! ivebeen waiting for this deal

      • glad you like this deal!

      • What are the extra cables for? Any device that you own cant you use that cable? Does this not come with any sort of cable?

        • This comes with one micro usb cable.

  • +2

I bought one for $11.60 delivered from Everbuying a long time back, however I've heard they don't ship powerbanks to Australia anymore due to new custom regulations. Makes this a good deal since its based in Australia, can't go wrong with express shipping!

    • +1

      Thanks for the feedback koalafied!

    • +1

It is due to sending batteries on planes that is the problem. You can send powerbanks on actual ships fine. I sent my Dad a powerbank for Christmas once. You need a special "surface mail only" sticker.

  • +1

any idea when the new ones will be in stock?

    • We will have the Xiaomi Power bank 2 in stock within the next 2 weeks :)

  • +2

Finally, a Xiaomi powerbank to go with my Xiaomi hoodie:

    • +1

hey Skatterbrain the materiel is Aluminium.

  • +1

newbie question here but how many times can this powerbank be used to charge an iphone 6 plus?

    • +1

      around 3.5 times

    • +1

3.3 times or something close to that.

    • Generally speaking, a good rule of thumb is to divide the mAh of 10000mAh power bank by the mAh of your device battery.

      So a 10000mAh power bank can “theoretically” charge an iPhone 6 plus from 1-100% 3.4 times (10000 / 2915 = 3.4).

Keep in mind: this is never 100% accurate as there still some other factors involved which will influence the charging capacity.

      • +2

The power bank is rated at 3.6V but the iPhone takes in 5V, so in reality there is only 7200mAh for charging a 5V device (3.6/5 * 10000). Less than 2.5 full charges. @bnjam3's comment below reflects this.

        • +1

Yes I was about to say this. So what epicttiimm said :)

        • +1

Yeah, but the battery in the iPhone is still a 3.6V(ish) battery, and that's what it's capacity is measured by. So while the power transfer might occur at 5V, the mAh numbers are basically equivalent and what the store rep said is correct.

This really stems from mAh not being a measure of energy, we should use Wh. 1A at 5V will transfer more energy than 1A at 3.6V.

        • @Alzori: When the phone converts the 5V input from the powerbank/wall charger, etc, the charging circuit takes the voltage from the charging cable and converts it to a useable 3.8v. The extra voltage is not transferred into the iPhone's battery. The extra ~2500-3000mAh is still lost in conversion within the phone (heat, etc).

I agree that Wh should become the default measurement though.

        • @epicttiimm: the energy is converted quite efficiently. 5V * 1A = 5W. 5W/3.6V = 1.38A going into your phone battery if that energy conversion is 100% efficient. A tiny bit is lost, but it's not just throwing away that extra energy.

Think about it this way - your phone wall charger has 240V going in and 5V going out. Do you think there is 1A in and 1A out with 98% of the energy being wasted?

    • +3

From my experience it will only give you 2 and 1/4 charge. From 0-100%

  • +1

    Thanks!

    • +3

May be something wrong with the battery of your phone :)

      • nope, it was a Motorola G2 at the time and worked fine with wall/usb chargers.

    • +2

some cheeky bugger mustve broken into your place while u were sleeping and thieved all of your juice away brah

    • I've done the same with it still charged the next morning, no issues.
And the phone was full too.

  • What life span do these charges have before needing replaced?

  • +1

anyone else having issues charging?? mine gets to 3 full lights and one blinking, and then it just goes to four blinking (which is error according to the manual) and it never goes to 4 solid lights.. is there something wrong or is that normal?

    • +1

Yeah having issues too! Left it plugged in for 24 hrs and only got 3 lights. Tried to charge my ipad for 1 hour and went down to only one light! Not very impressed!!

      • +1

yeah mine never goes above 3 lights, no matter how long u leave it in for.. i havent tried using it to actually charge my phone yet so i dont know if it has the same discharge issue u mentioned yet :/

  • Mr. AssociaTed. ..
DO you have xiao mi powerbank 2?
    The slimmer version?
    10000 mAh

  • +2

Can I return the product??? Seriously not happy about it. Charged it more than 24 hrs after i received it and only went 75%, used it to charge my ipad for 1 hr and it went down to 25%. Charged it overnight still with one light - 25%

    Waste of money unfortunately:(

  • +1

Having same issues as users above. Been charging for 10 hours+ now and its 3 lights and blinking.. Honestly a terrible experience so far.

    GearDo Australia any response?

    • +1

update: left it to charge overnight and it got the full solid 4 lights.

Charging my phone now and its pretty fast for a non-quick charger. 20%-60% and its still on 4 lights.
